That cake is absolutely gorgeous. My son would LOVE that! Pity we are having his birthday dinner at TRex.

It was yummy!!!!:goodvibes

dh wouldn't like it though - he hates anything with his chocolate - raspberries, strawberries, orange - hates it.

my on the other hand Mmmm.......

how much was that one?

The thing is, they already sell a peanut butter-chocolate cake slice at BoardWalk Bakery that is WAY better than either pb-choc cake I've had from the Grand Floridian Bakery. I just don't know if you could get them to make it as a whole cake/fancy, decorated cake. It's worth asking, though! :thumbsup2

Yummmmm me and my mom love peanut butter! What does this cake taste like? I've never heard of this cake i've heard of peanut butter cup mousse but i don't like mousse. I think they should make peanut butter icing (yummmm) that would be amazing!:lovestruc

Does anyone have info on this cake????

You and me both! Not enough things in this world come with peanut butter icing, but the cake slice at the BoardWalk Inn does!

It's layers of chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting in between and on top, with a layer of chocolate ganache on top. Then on top of that are squiggles of more peanut butter frosting, and the sides are frosted in peanut butter with mini chocolate and peanut butter chips too!

These pix are not great, but they'll give you an idea...

I finally actually have something to post:woohoo:
We're going to be at WDW in 2 weeks, and are celebrating both kiddos birthdays while we are there. But I have a confession to make; We don't really like cake (gasp) however, we are huge chocolate lovers. I had already ordered the cinderella slipper for DD plated w/ her birthday message, but was stumped for DS, especially since he's allergic to food dyes. I talked to Brian at the Contemporary today, and he came up with something which if it works should be great. They're doing a chocolate mousse dome covered in ganache w/ ears; then adding a full body mickey on the plate and adding his birthday message. They seemed to be brainstorming the idea while we were talking, so I just thought I'd let people know that it's something that might become available. I'll post pics when I get back good, bad or ugly. It sounds really cute, though.

I just wanted to note that I witnessed the chefs and staff at two locations (Flametree BBQ and Le Cellier) deal with food allergy orders and I was completely impressed. :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, that's it. The cake from my dreams. I need to get this ordered as a full cake for DH's birthday, right now. Do you think I would be able to get this through Beach Club Concierge staff? How much is it going to cost me? MMMMM, DH will love this cake!!

I have to admit, Disney has always been absolutely fabulous about dealing with my kiddos allergies. We have a list of what is safe for CS's, and at every TS meal a chef comes out and works with us on what will be safe for them. They walk us through the buffet lines as well and point out what works. Sometimes they even make a special dish just for one of them if they don't like the offerings readily available. I really feel like they go above and beyond. Just one of many, many reasons why WDW is the only place I want to vacation with my kids (If anyone is wondering, Disney is also fantastic about working with families w/ kids w/ multiple disabilities.)

I think you'll have to call them and ask, or maybe just call the BoardWalk Bakery (by calling the main BoardWalk number and being transferred). And then let us know what you find out! :thumbsup2

So how do you use Flickr to create a cake image? ANy help would be great! Thanks :thumbsup2

What we did was download images of all the cakes we liked on Flickr and then use Photoshop to cut out different elements and create a composite cake. But I'll bet you could just email all the images to the pastry chef and say "I want it to be the color of Cake A, with the figures from Cake B, and the trees from Cake C" or whatever... :goodvibes

Well thank you to everyone who helped me...we got our cake. even after Pat wasn't interested in helping us, and we had to lie lol. I was very happy with the look of the cake. I'd asked for tie die fondant in a peace love and mickey mouse theme. I think they hit it right on the money...and the lime green mickeys were a bonus:).
But...I wasn't happy that it was a Sarah Lee cake. They should have told me it wouldn't be a fresh cake. I ordered chocolate cake with white butter creme frosting. As you can see it's not, because sarah lee only comes in chocolate on chocolate. All in all though we were happy.
We had this at 1900 Park Fare and it cost $66.

Does the contemporary bakery do cakes for the restaurants at the Wilderness Lodge?

I'm re-considering getting another cake made for our Sept trip.

Last year, I had CakeManBri create a Tower of Terror Bellhop Hat that I was so excited for, I could barely keep it a secret

Do you folks have any ideas? Maybe Everest related? Maybe a big piece of Yeti dung like in the museum? :lmao:

I have a few questions...
I have been trying to fit in a meal somewhere in our intinerary where I could order a custom cake for DS (8). I really want an 8in or smaller, since there is only three of us.
I can get reservations for:
1) Ohana's breakfast 10:55 on 7/4 @ Poly
2) Supercalifragilistic breakfast 11:10 on 7/4 @ Grand Floridian
or is there a suggestion for somewhere on the Boardwalk where we could eat lunch and have a custom cake delivered to the restaurant?
If we have breakfast at Poly - where can I get a cake delivered from?
If we have breakfast at GF, I would get in touch with Pat from GF, correct? Are there 6 or 8 inch options?
Thank you for any help you can provide!
Debbie
