You can get a two-tiered mini castle cake. That should be enough for you to share. The slipper is pretty, but I prefer the cake to the slipper (for the taste of it).

Ok, that is a good idea--I was looking at the pics of the mini wedding cake--is that it? Does the castle fit on top of that? Does cinderella bring it to the table? That would be perfect. Thanks!!!

I know there is a cake thread but I leave Wednesday and I didn't want my post getting lost in the thread.

My dd and her friend are celebrating their 14th birthday this summer. I want to get a cake. I am not sure if I want to have it at a restaurant (which would be 1900 Park Fare).

I was thinking of ordering one from the Boardwalk Bakery and taking it to the room (Pop Century). I think a mini wedding cake decorated in pink or something. How many does that feed? It is the small, small 2 tier cake.

Is it too late to order? What would you do? Should I just get a podium cake? So confused and am running out of time.

Thanks

Here's the Snow White cake my mom ordered for me last August. It was a surprise, so I don't know all of the details, but it was delivered at 1900 Park Fair and was quite delicious. Many of the decorations were not edible, however. The little red rosettes had wires in them and I think some of the animals were plastic. There were 4 adults, 2 children, and a baby (who didn't eat any), and there was a lot of cake left over. GF held it for us until later that evening, but we still had to get it back to SSR!

And I didn't notice until now that they misspelled my name! Boo hoo!

Take a few moments to look at post 2. Podium cakes are labeled, as are the mini wedding cakes. Decide which would work best for you.

Call the cake hotline tomorrow morning after 7am Eastern time. Talk to them and see what they can do to help.

If you do not get the help that you need from the cake hotline, call private dining. (you can google the direct number to the hotel that you need, and they should be able to transfer you to private dining)

Hope this helps. :goodvibes

If I want a cake delivered to Pop Century, which bakery would I call? Is there a minimum dollar amount to have it delivered? Is there a delivery charge?

I think..from checking this out last year that you cannot have one delivered to Pop. They have some generic cakes in their food court, or you can pick one up from the Board Walk Bakery.

Boardwalk Bakery has delivered cakes to parks in the past for a fee, so I would start with them. (Not promising that it can happen, but I believe they'd be the best of the bakeries to try to make it happen)

I'm still trying to decide between ordering my cake from AKL the first part of our trip, or the Poly for the latter part of our trip. I know some people have had luck ordering a wonderful cake from the Contemp. and had it delivered to either the Poly or WL. Can you tell me how much is generally charged for delivery? I've been ogling some of CakeManBri's cakes, but we don't have any ADR's for the Contemporary this time.

Does anyone know if the Boardwalk Bakery does that mini mad hatter cake? Thinking of ordering the mini cake. Wonder if it could be done in red.

If you could find out the size of the mini mad hatter from the Grand Floridian, you could call Boardwalk Bakery and ask them if they'll do a cake of that size for you. So long as they have the right size cake pans, I don't think it'd be an issue.

Coloring, I am sure, is entirely up to you.

First of all.....Thank you Tricia for all the work you did on that index!! It's great!

Here are my pics of the Haunted Mansion cake I ordered for my brother's birthday. I ordered it to be delivered to our villa at BLT on the first night of our recent visit. It was the highlight of our vacation! My brother & his family was so surprised & we enjoyed it throughout our stay! It was chocolate cake with white chocolate filling & white buttercream frosting. The cost was $65 add delivery the total was $84 & worth every penny!!

Good morning everyone. Just need alittle more specific info about ordering from Pat at GF. I just want to order a 6 inch cake, but decorated.
I mentioned the fondant covered mickey head stamped cake. She said that starts at $80 and then the mickey head stamps are additional, as would be any further decoration or cake top. We were up to $120 before I got off the phone and that was just for the mickey stamps and maybe a tink in chocolate on the top. The flavors were either vanilla or chocolate, and no other choices. Is this correct? I could swear I've seen more elaborately decorated 6 inch cakes at the same, if not less money?

I didn't get the feeling that she wanted to do more than standard and at a very high price. Regular vanilla buttercream covered vanilla cake with chocolate filling started at $66.00, than any decorating was more $$.

Please let me know if all of this is correct? Since she didn't seem to want to "go the extra mile" in suggestions or choices, I'm thinking I'll probably just go with a couple of white chocolate filled cinderella shoes. And with those, she told me she can only fill them with cream (no mousse) and top with with berries. She also said any chocolate dipped strawberries would be $5.00 EACH!

Any info would be appreciated. We will just be a party of four and I would want the cake delivered to the Garden View Room for our 2:00 pm tea/lunch. The cake is for our daughters (going with a friend, her daughter is my daughter BFF) celebrating their 21st birthday.

TIA

Alrighty all you knowledgable cake ladies, could you please help me out with this question?:goodvibes Can I order my 3DD's the slipper dessert at the GF Cafe? I don't recall seeing it there from threads past but it is a GF restaurant so I'd imagine I could, right? Or perhaps a mini castle cake? Thanks in advance, this thread is highly addicting and makes me want to eat buttercream by the handful!

Yes you can order the slipper for the GF Cafe. I did it last November. You can probably order the mini castle too. :goodvibes

:woohoo:Thanks!! I'm leaning more towards the slipper desserts since I'd have to order 3 and those mini castle cakes are like $30 each!

I understand your feeling about Pat not wanting to work with you. I had a similar experience and had to state several times that I wanted a custom cake, not a 6" podium cake. She told me I couldn't customize a 6". Later on she told me I could only do a 10" but then said she could do an 8" custom.:confused3 I really wish they had a standardized form so people would know the options and pricing. It seems like it's made up on the fly!

I ended up with an 8" chocolate cake, buttercream filling, covered in fondant with a chocolate Tinker Bell on top that cost me $100. For me, that wasn't worth the money, didn't taste that great and was a nightmare to get the order straight with Pat. I won't order a custom cake again through the GF.

Anyway, that does sound like a lot of money for a 6" cake. If it were me, I'd just go with either a mini castle cake or the slipper dessert which is really pretty. There are lots of pics of the Cinderella slipper dessert on the first page index of this thread and they look not only delish but gorgeous too. And it's only $15! I'm sure your DD's will be thrilled with whatever you get them.:goodvibes

What a gorgeous cake! My DH is taking me to the world for my 50th birthday this September. I am so excited about the trip! We are having dinner on my birthday at 1900 Park Fare. It doesn't hurt to wish really hard that DH would call and order a cake.

how much $$$ was this cake???

I think I am going to go with a mini wedding cake or the mini mad hatter cake if the BW bakery will do it . We are comming in on a Sunday and don't need it until Wednesday. I am hopping I can get it in Mickey Red with yellow pipping and say Bon Voyage with small black mickey Icons. What do you think?

I now am thinking of getting two mini wedding cakes for each girl from the Boardwalk Bakery. Since this would be to go, is it possible to get Happy Birthday on the plate like you can get at restaurants? Is there seating outside to eat them? I am worried about transporting them back to Pop Century.

I can't find the thread that was posted that alphabetically listed a link to each cake picture on the boards, anyone have it please?

TIA
