Second cake! This is a mini cake that I found searching through these threads. I loved it and when I spoke with the Epcot contact she said she had no Christmas theme requests previously...

So, I have been thinking about this for a little while, and am trying to be brave enough to post my idea.
I am making a solo trip to WDW in June. I am HOPING to make a late-ish dinner reservation at Story Book Dining (What used to be Artist Point.) I am staying at WL.

I stayed at WL in 2010, when I got married at the YC on 10/10/10. I am making this trip to bring back 10th Anniversary souvenirs, and to take some reflective time out after what has been a difficult year.

My husband has incurable leukaemia (we managed to make a last family trip to WDW in 2017 before his treatment started) and, this year, he has done failed chemo, and is on a new medication regime, which, very luckily has meant he is doing much better, but, he will never be well enough to fly again.

We decided that 10 years was special, and that I could make a solo trip to collect souvenirs for everyone, and mementoes of WL especially, and other special locations (Soarin for example is my husbands favourite ride) I couldn't realistically take my children as one is is a 13yr old autistic boy, and the other is a 6 yr old princess obsessed girl and managing both of them as just me would mean no one had any fun. I do feel guilty.

I am wondering whether (IF I get the Story Book Dining reservation - 4 days to go to ADRs! - We had our wedding dinner at Artist Point) it might be possible to have a tiny one person version of our wedding cake made? We just had the marble cake with chocolate filling, and the gold mickey head stamped fondant - one of the basic wedding options at the time. Then I could eat our wedding cake in the restaurant we had our wedding dinner. While meeting my husbands favourite disney characters. I mean, I might even Skype him while I am there (if it wouldn't annnoy other diners)

What do you all think, cake experts? Possible? A silly thing to do?

You should do it and it not a silly thing to do at all! And Skype your husband!

Thank you! So, I am guessing I can ring the WL number to sort this out? (I was kind of hoping I could ask once I got there to save international calling, but, I suspect that won't allow enough days)

Your flavor choices sound amazing! I wish I could do something like this but since it will be just my husband and I sharing a cake I have to compromise to his tastebuds.

Back to this thread for another trip! I do cakes each trip and it always is a highlight. So far I have done a Jessica/Roger Rabbit cake, and an Up themed cake. This time I have no idea what I want to do! I usually tie in the cake to my room/door/window decorations and make a whole themed trip. Going in Feb 2020 and hopeful I can brainstorm some good ideas soon. :wizard:
Oh I need to see this Jessica Rabbit cake! Do you have any pics?

Yes, unfortunately WL makes you do this dance where you call them to place the order, they tell you it's too complicated for their pastry team, and then they "allow" you to call the Contemporary to work with them on a cake for delivery to WL.

Oh my goodness, thanks for the heads up! I'm glad I have a lot of time to organise this then!

Possible? Absolutely? A silly thing to do? NO! Also if you get through dinner without bawling your face off you’re a stronger woman than me. Go, order the cake and FaceTime your hubby while you eat it
I just realised he'd have to be up at about 1 - 2am, but, if he fits in a nap in the evening, I could definitely Skype, and then, he could see what they have done to the restaurant, and even see Grumpy and Dopey (he is a traditionalist and loves the Snow White Movie the most) I also thought about noting it on the reservation, so, when I do cry all over the place, the wait staff will not be concerned!

Here's my experience with ordering a cake from Amorette's in Disney Springs. My mom's bday dinner is at Morimoto Asia & they will be delivering the cake to the restaurant at no charge. I called the phone number from the beginning of this thread & was asked to leave a message with as much info as possible including a phone number & preferred call back time. They called me back the next day but I missed the call. Called again to leave a 2nd message & they called back later that afternoon. I was offered the option to custom make a cake but it sounded like it would be the size & price of the large dome cakes which feed 8 people. It's only the 3 of us, so I asked about the option of ordering a petit cake. It couldn't be customized or personalized & she explained the flavors of both the Frozen petit cake & the Holiday petit cake. I chose the Holiday petit. I'll follow up & post on how it goes with the delivery to the restaurant, taste & final thoughts. I was also asked to pay for it over the phone. They do not offer any types of discounts like AP or DVC & it was $18+tax.
I haven't seen any posts of the 2019 Holiday petit so I'm hoping it's as cute as previous years.

Tried searching, anyone have any idea where I call for a custom cake for Riviera Resort? I did not see anything posted yet? TIA!!

Just had a very simple ordering process for our meal at Akershus in early January. I phoned Epcot yesterday and left a message. Claudia emailed me back within half an hour, and this morning let me know that what I requested was approved.

My 16 year old is a Marvel fan (we're going on a Marvel cruise after the parks) so the cake will be Marvel themed, although not obviously Marvel. I've ordered an 8" vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream under fondant that's dyed to look like a galaxy (lots of purples, blues, silvers, glitter). On top of the cake will be the infinity stones. I'd requested that the writing on the cake plate say "We love you 3000", but Claudia told me that can't do that (too Marvel?). So I've asked for "Oh snap, you're 16!" instead. 🤣

Cost is $76 plus tax and gratuity. I am always amazed at how much lower the cost is at Epcot compared to GF!

I'll post photos when we're back.

Riviera Resort has no Private Dining department, and there are no prompts for the resort yet on the Cake Hotline. I did some research and updated Post #2 with the details: For right now they are allowing you to call Yacht & Beach Club Private Dining directly to order custom cakes for delivery to your room or a restaurant at Riviera Resort. I'll keep tabs and update the info if they decide to do things differently in the future.

Awesome! Thank you!!!

Beach Club NAILED it! Chocolate and vanilla swirl cake with milk chocolate mousse surrounded by chocolate covered strawberries and handpainted chocolate stitch. Everything was edible except the 2 gumpaste flowers on top, and it was DELICIOUS!

@ErinsMommy Whoa! Gorgeous! I love the flowers on the sides of the cake!

This honestly was the best cake I ever ordered in Disney (we had in years previous ordered customs from the Contemporary as well as the Poly - which GF did) and this was by far the most delicious and perfectly executed cake of them all. Major kudos to the cake designers at Beach Club <3

Going in March to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday. She’s always loved Cinderella. I have dinner reservations at the castle. Is this somewhere where I can get a cake delivered??
