I ordered a 8" Strawberry Shortcake cake for dinner at Tutto Italia for my sisters 40th birthday celebration. Was going to do a 6" vanilla since there were only 5 of us. Was told they couldn't personalize 6" , more on that later. When the Strawberry Shortcake came to the table it was covered with Hazelnuts ( I personally have never had it made that way. My sister is allergic to Hazelnuts. It was never mentioned when ordering that they were on the cake.) she's not allergic enough that she can't eat food prepared in the same space as hazelnuts just can't consume the actual nut. So after much discussion they brought out a vanilla personalized 6" cake for her. We are also celebrating my Sons birthday on Friday and now I'm nervous what that cake will be.

Well if it's not at Tutto, you don't have anything to worry about. They make their own cakes—they aren't managed by Disney. If you order at any Disney-owned restaurant, you will get a cake like those shown in this thread.

Hi Everyone - I am sure this has been answered plenty of times before, but who makes the cake for All stars Sports?
I had great success last year getting my cake from chef Brian when we had brunch at Chef Mickeys, and wanted to know if it would be easier to order a cake to be delivered directly to the room or making a reservation and getting it at a restaurant? Any thoughts?

Post #2 of this thread tells you who makes the cakes at resorts that don't make their own. :thumbsup2 The All-Stars get their cakes from BoardWalk Inn. But you cannot call BoardWalk Balery directly to order—they will say that they don't deliver there. You have to do through the resort using the numbers in Post #2.

Having the cake come directly to the room is easiest transportation-wise. But ordering can be a hassle at certain resorts. I had no problem getting a hold of someone at the All-Stars when I checked the numbers last year, but YMMV...

When you order a cake from Boardwalk Bakery and pick it up, do they charge gratuity like at a restaurant or private dining?

Has anyone had any luck getting cannolli filling on a mini cake for Magic Kingdom?

Need a birthday cake (for me) and then I will be doing a HM cake for our 30th to be delivered to Beach Club. Already know cake and filling for that one.

Both of these look amazing!

Make sure you confirm your cake...after all the emails back & forth with our person. She said we would have a Minnie cake. Well, NOPE they brought out a Mickey cake. Of course dd didn't know it was wrong but the surprise was ruined. Not only was it wrong -we waited about 45 mins AFTER our meal for it to arrive @ 50s. As soon as I walked in I confirmed that I had a cake on order with the girl at reservation stand. She said yes, everything was good. On the ticket they put on the table it was in bold letters at the top, but our server never saw it. Soo when we were finished eating & he still hadn't brought it we told him to look @ that paper they put on the table when they seated us. He said OOOH & left to get it. He comes back several minutes later & says it's not on property, he used code words to tell us that the managers had left to go find it but of course my dd knew something was up. so we sat @ the table & waited & waited. It eventually came - dd wasn't even at the table by that time (potty break) - so even the wow of it coming in was spoiled. The cake was wonderful the first night, but as soon as it was put in the fridge it was hard & stale tasting. We got a vanilla cake with strawberry icing, with buttercream frosting & fondant on top.

I only see one in the pic & that one is from the bakery in Disney Springs (Amorettes? Not sure of the spelling)

There are two cakes in my original post...the Donald one from Amorette's and a Haunted Mansion one from the GF bakery.

So I was told in email that they dont make sketches to show you what they are doing? Anyone else have the same experience.

I don't want to pay $110 for a cake (which isn't even fondant covered) and not get what I want. He didn't even confirm cake or filling. I am just trying to see if this is common?

Also there is a note in his email that I have to call and order it even after the emails, I am so confused. Please help.

Yes, they don't even do sketches for Disney brides, and they're paying a lot more for their cakes than we are!

Then I would recommend not ordering a cake from Disney. Most of the time people on this board have a great experience, but there are those who are disappointed. You could see if an outside bakery will provide sketches and deliver to Disney. Some popular ones: It's Tasty Too, Sprinkles Custom Cakes, Party Flavors, Anna Cakes.

Right, you have to place the actual order with Private Dining. THEY will confirm the flavors and fillings. All of this is explained in Post #1 of this thread. :thumbsup2

and I was one of those disappointed. I sent pics of what we liked, was told it would be Minnie & it turned out to be Mickey. Also didn't know what kind of cake or filling it would be - was told they didn't do strawberry filling, but to our surprise it was strawberry filled & excellent.

Can cakes be paid for with a Disney gift card? Are cakes always paid for at pick up? Or do they sometimes charge you when ordering?

So I want to do a 6 inch cake while we are having lunch at Kona Cafe. I would like either Minnie or Frozen themed for under $70 is this even possible? Or am I being totally unrealistic? Does anybody have any suggestions for something else, pictures and prices will be welcomed!

I hoping someone can help me with this... I ordered a cake to be delivered at LeCellier after dinner as a surprise for my husbands birthday. I do not think we will be able to eat all the cake and was thinking I would save what's left. We are planning on watching Illuminations that night also. When I ordered the cake I asked if the restaurant could keep it until we are ready to leave the park for the night. They informed me LeCellier can not do that, we will have to take the leftover cake with us after dinner. We are staying on site and will not have a vehicle. Does anyone have suggestions as to what is the best thing to do with the cake while we walk around world showcase? I should also mention this will be at the end of August when it is HOT. any advice is appreciated

You can carry it or you can place it in a locker until you leave.
