*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

Wooohoooo! So excited! I just snagged the Chef Mickey's reservation I needed. YES! I've been checking about every 15 minutes during the day and several times in the middle night. I got so used to seeing that nothing was available that I almost missed that there was a time there. lol I'm still looking for a Beaches and Cream reservation because the one I have won't work for us and maybe a BOG lunch reservation if one pops up. But both aren't a huge deal and I don't need to stress over them. I kinda think the BOG lunch wouldn't even fit well in our plans so I should just completely stop looking for it.

I'm taking only my 2nd WDW vacation in a decade with my 4 and 6 year old this December 18-22nd. I'm doing the Christmas party the 18th and following Kenny the pirates guide for least busy park all other days. Any insight into how busy the parks really are if I plan FP+ and stay away from extra magic hours parks? Will it be manageable or very frustrating?

Thanks in advanced! New to the boards.

We were there last year from the 19th to the 24th. It was busy, but manageable. Try to do rope drop if you want to get lots done.

Thanks! Makes me feel better about going at such a busy time of year.

Also, does that mean getting to the parks before/as they open?

Yes. Before. The earlier, the better. Also, pay attention to park opening hours. Right now, I think parks are listed as opening at 9am. But that will likely change closer to the dates. Mostly 7am openings at MK near Christmas.

We're going through the ride list & figuring out who wants to go on what. Watching POV videos with dd4. We went to a local craft show today. Dd picked out a process headband & a Minnie barrette. So cute. They had Minnie ears there but I'm going to look on Etsy. I didn't love any of them.

Today is my mom's 60th birthday and she and my dad have never been to Disney. My kids have been wanting to have them go with us some time, so we decided to give them a trip to Disney for my moms 61st birthday and their 41st anniversary next year! Decided on 2 value rooms and putting one kid in with them, and it still comes out to be about the same as if we were going to go just ourselves in a moderate because we have to have a room for 5! So this year just my son and me and next year a big family trip with 4 adults and 3 kids!

So- after seeing the food for holidays around the world, I've calculated that I will need to loose 50+ lbs before we go- to break even.

You have over 2 months to get going on that. Seriously, I know I'm seeing all those treats in my future too and hope the scale doesn't zap me ;)

Ok...sorry for the radio silence, Friends!

The first page is updated, :welcome: to everyone I have not welcomed before now :-):-)

I survived being sick. Thank you for the well wishes, they worked!

Joining in the sharing of the daily plans, here's ours. I have not made many (or any, really) changes for a long time. We're pretty set for this trip! Still waiting on Star Wars, of course.

Friday 12/16 - arrival day! No plans. We get in around dinner time, will just hang around the resort. We always stay at Wilderness Lodge, so we'll just enjoy the newness of the Boardwalk.

Saturday 12/17 -
AK morning, Sanaa lunch at noon
DHS evening, Star Wars Dessert Party (i hope!)

Sunday 12/18 -
Resort hopping for decorations
9am breakfast at G Flo Cafe
MVMCP
4:40 dinner at Skipper's Canteen

Monday 12/19 -
lazy morning at Epcot after late party night
breakfast probably in France
AK evening

Tuesday 12/20 -
MK morning, 11am lunch at Liberty Tree
Epcot evening or Disney Springs

**considering adding a dinner ADR somewhere in Disney Springs on this day**

Wednesday 12/21 -
Epcot. Pre-park opening 8am breakfast at Garden Grill
Yachtsman dinner, 5pm

Thursday 12/22 -
MK morning
2pm CP dining package at San Angel, 5pm Candlelight Processional

I'm working on a plan for FPs. We'll do more evening park FPs this time than we usually do...normally I plan my passes where the first one is accessible around 10:30am, when crowds pick up, but we're doing so much hopping this time, that we'll go without passes in most of our morning parks and use them for the evening parks.
