*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

It seems like they only release the dessert party a couple of months ahead of time. So FX there will be one in December.

@Talby of course I will share what my friend says. She goes to Disney quite frequently and has done quite a few of the dessert parties. I think she's doing multiple this trip. She promised to take lots of pics of the Star Wars for me and gives me an honest opinion. Did you see Josh's blog post on it? It really has me pumped to go. The fireworks view looks amazing and hello Stormtroopers are there! http://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/st...tips-and-review-at-disneys-hollywood-studios/

My TA is also going soon. She's not going to the dessert party. She thought about it but they don't like Star Wars so thought it wouldn't be worth it for them. I'm interested to hear what she thinks of the fireworks and viewing area if you don't do the party.

I pretty much have this all validated in my head.

Do you all think there will be the Star Wars fireworks in December? I can't seem to tell from the Disney website. I only see them scheduled through September. Is it just a summertime thing, or do you all think they will continue them through the fall and winter?

If only we could collectively wish it into existence, it would definitely be happening! There seems to be pretty strong speculation that they will continue on through the fall/winter. Ugh...the agony of trying to patiently wait to find out! lol

Yay...thanks so much!! :) Can't wait to hear about it. Josh's blog about it is incredible!!

Haha...see, I'm an expert at justifying things regarding Disney, so I totally get that! :) It would be nice to know the perspective of what the fireworks are like if you don't do the party. That bit about not getting a good spot unless you get there early has me just a bit concerned.

Hi everyone! I just posted this somewhere else, but I have a CRT reservation for 6 for wed 12/7 at 4:25. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping! I am hoping for the same time frame for sun mono or tues 12/4 12/5 or 12/6 . Please let know or keep me in mind if anyone else's plans change too later on! Thanks!

Sorry that's not my week but hopefully something comes up for you. My dh brought up wanting to try BOG for lunch so now I'm looking for that and an Ohana breakfast. I'm sure something will pop up soon.

Not sure if this is your week but there was a 1:45pm BOG lunch on Dec 8 for at least 4 people when i checked a couple of hours ago.

So I didn't realize the ADR timeline when I booked our trip (rookie mistake) but am really hoping for a CRT on 12/10. I have touring plans reservation finder and am stalking the Dec cancellations board, but questions for the veterans out there:
-Are the odds in my favor?
-and if not, what would you book at MK instead?

We have Chef Mickey, BOG, Crystal Palace reservations. My littles will be 2 and 4 and love characters. TIA!

I'm not a veteran, and didn't book my trip until way after the 180 mark so I missed making ADRs on the day that they opened. However, I have had had luck with cancellations so far and our trip is way out. I managed to get Chef Mickey, Akershus, Ohana breakfast (it's closer to lunch and we're going to leave the MK via monorail and then come back) and BOG dinner from cancellations. I also booked Crystal Palace at MK which is supposed to be a big favorite for littles from what I've been told. My littles are 3 and 5 and I think are going to have fun with the characters, but this is their first time. Are you going to Epcot? A friend of mine told me to consider Akershus over CRT. It might be easier to score a cancellation and if you are on dining plan it is only 1 meal credit as opposed to 2 credits. I managed to get lunch and dinner reservations at Akershus and will drop one as we get closer and we decide how we want our day to work with fastpass.

Sadly no Epcot - We are only doing MK this trip, but I am dying over the lack of Frozen attractions since my daughter is (still) obsessed with Elsa. We are doing MVMCP so hoping to see Elsa light up the castle, be in a parade, or hopefully do a meet and greet!

I think a lot of people are holding onto extra reservations until their plans are more definite. Some of the cancellations I have seen were like 3 of the same restaurant at completely different times so they weren't for a big group just someone who didn't really know what time they wanted so booked a few choices. I guess closer to the 60 day mark when some people have made their fp we should see a lot of stuff open up. At least that's what I hope. I'm new to this so I may be completely wrong.

I'm so sad I missed posting yesterday because yesterday was the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY (or birthday, however you'd like to recognize it :-)) of this thread.

Can you believe it??

Only 119 days before our trip...better than the 488 I started out with!

Is anyone bringing Christmas decorations for your room? I'm thinking of getting a small tree and having it delivered to the resort, then sending DH and the kids out to get drinks or food or something, and having it up and decorated when they get back.

I'm not a veteran by any means, but I did miss the 180 day mark by quite a bit. I was able to secure a CRT 4:35 dinner through an awesome DISer on the December cancellation thread. Our BoG 4:55 dinner was through persistence. I had the touring plans reservation finder assisting with that one, but still tried on my own. Every. Single. Day. For weeks. SoOoOoOo many times! lol I agree that people will cancel things as they firm up their plans, so just keep at it and I'm sure it will pay off. Good luck getting exactly what's on your wish list! :-)
