That is SUPER creative!! Love it!!

DS is Dastan from Prince of Persia and DD is a girly devil. I bought the least skanky-looking costume for her age. Plus she has a l/s, red bodysuit that she WILL be wearing underneath while out ToT'ing.

BTW.....

50 Days!!!!

too cute! don't you hate all the skanky costumes, really, even the pre teen ones are pretty bad.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I am thinking that we might be able to remember simple things like our ages if we dump out all Disney stuff crammed into our brains..:confused3..nahhhhhh! Age ignorance is bliss :cool1:

All we really need to remember are major holidays - Halloween - Thanksgiving - DISNEY!!! :santa:

Agreed! Age is just a number, but Disney is a lifestyle!!!:rotfl2:

This is the teen one, the tween one covered less.

I'm a mean mom I told the kids no Trick or treating this year. They don't eat the candy and last year I spent well over $150 on costumes and accesories for the kids. So I told them I would rather take them somewhere. BUT since they have parties for school I had to do something. My 2 DDs are being babies. They are wearing a new pair of PJs and I have to get them slippers. I will put their hair in pig tails, I will darken their freckles, buy them a bib and a pacifier and they are good to go. My DS is being a PITB though. He won't tell us what he wants to be. I was hoping to get him a mask or something or wear his football outfit but NOOOO he wants to be impossible.

Make matters worse the kids can not agree on where they want to go or what they want to do that night.

We are staying at POFQ Dec 19-24. I am going with my mom and her best friend who is turning 75. Mom is going thru chemo right now, but is done the end of October. I am getting really nervous about taking her if she is weak. I understand that I can get wheelchair at resort if they have any left and rent at park if not. Anyone used this service? It says parks can run out and then what woud I do?

i am so sorry- sending lots of prayers and pixie dust. i know how scary that can be- my uncle passed out at my house in May and stopped breathing- was officially dead. They somehow brought him back and after two weeks in ICU and a special ice treatment to prevent brain injury, he is now alive and enjoying life to the fullest! Hoping for a quick recovery!!!

 Both my kids have strep, and I don't feel so good myself. And this is our Ghost Train weekend.

Thanks to the many of you that have been keeping my DH and I in your toughts & prayers.

I brought him home from the hospital on Oct. 19th. He had not stopped breathing when he passed out so we never had the fear of brain damage. But having him unresponsive for almost 2 minutes is enough to give me a :scared1:

Next week we have to make our final decision on whether to cancel WDW. DH completes his course of IV anti-biotic Oct. 27. Our final payment date is Oct. 28. He's still being treated for vertigo. I'm looking into the idea of a scooter rental from an outside company to be delivered to us at AKL. I'm looking at a scooter rather than a wheelchair because he is 68 & I am 65. I think pushing him in a wheelchair would wear me out! Right now he is only good for walking a few blocks, not the 4 to 5 miles a day we normally do at WDW.

Tru-Blu - I hope that you and your kids are bug free real quick and not
I myself saw our primary care doctor on Monday when I woke up with a horribly sore throat and I'm now on a Z-pack.

i can speak from experience on pushing the wheelchair- my mom is losing her sight, so a scooter wasn't an option for her, but it was hard for her to walk around on her own too, due to the vision loss and other issues. So we use a wheelchair for her and let me tell you, it does get really difficult. I am in fairly good shape, always been athletic and i had a hard time after a while and had to take turns pushing with my sister. you don't realize how many ramps or little hills there are until you have to push a wheelchair(or are in one). I would definitely go with the scooter if you can. I am still praying for you and hope he continues to recover and that you guys still get your magical trip!

I don't think that's being mean to not trick-or-treat. Plus, that's a lot of money to spend on costumes!

We don't trick or treat or dress up. We just go to a party at our church. The kids get free candy there and it's candy I feel comfortable letting them eat!

Thanks for all the well wishes for my boys. They are on the mend! :thumbsup2 AND we are headed to Tweetsie Railroad for Ghost Train tomorrow!!! :woohoo: The weather should be great and the drive beautiful! The Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall. :cloud9:

Saturday we will go to the Historic Orchard at Altapass to pick apples :yay:, then back home for our costume party!!!

Yay!!! I love October!!! :dance3:

Love the costumes! Those are fantastic!!! My boys are going to be a werewolf and a vampire. Can you tell their mom is obsessed with Twilight? :lmao:

Has anyone been to Ice or planning on going this year? I am thinking about it but not sure if its worth the price. For Ice and Snow its around $30 per adult and 20 something for kids.

What to do what to do?

We have been to ICE at the Gaylord close to Dallas. It was really cool (ha!) but I'm not sure I would leave Disney to see it. That's just me though, I'm all about the parks when we are there. Certainly worth seeing someday though. Our favorite part was the slides! The nativity scene was great too.

My fiance says the same thing about pushing me. However, I refuse to get an electric scooter because my refluxes are pretty bad and I don't want to run people over (literally). People already talk to much crap about people in wheelchairs I'm not going to have someone shoot me dirty looks. I just told him we'd take breaks every now and again so I don't wear him out, lol.

It's snowing this morning here in Central Vermont! :scared1: Come on December and Disney!!!!!

Snow before Halloween? I am soooo jealous! If it even threatens ice or snow in Austin the entire city closes down with a "winter advisory" - schools, government offices, everything! :confused3 Hard for a northern girl to take.

Maybe I will make a pot of soup while I think about snow.

Haha! I'll gladly switch with you! Too much of a good thing and all that! For me, it can snow the week before Christmas and the week after Christmas but that's it! I'm heading to my daughter's soccer game today and seeking out my silk longjohns, hat, mittens etc!

I remember being a kid and hating when it would snow on Halloween. Its extremely difficult to trick or treat in the snow! :lmao:

I hope we don't get snow here in NE Ohio until at least the end of November! I live in the snow belt and am not looking forward to snow!

You TEASE!!!!

I'm down here in MA and am jones-ing for snow. I REALLY can't wait to see the "snow" on Main St. at MVMCP. :santa:

Woooooo hoooooo

All your trip information that comes in the mail from Disney :)

50 days!!!!!!!!!

Quick question... How close to the departure date does Mickey Mail come? The trip that I booked is a surprise gift and I'd be ( I guess the closest word I can think of is ) disappointed, if the day before her birthday, she sees a giant envelop.

If it doesn't come til 30 days before I'm good.

Anyone know how far out the mail come?

No way could I handle snow this early! Well, I don't like snow at all. Give me 90 degrees and humidity!

As to those who move south and don't understand why we shut down, well it is for everyones safety. Cities in the south don't spend a whole lot of money on equipment since it doesn't ice or snow too often. Also, the majority of the people don't know how to drive in the stuff since it doesn't happpen too often. Also, some transplants think that since they are used to driving in it back home that it is the same here. WRONG! The roads aren't treated as well as back home.

I spent 4 years in northern Indiana and froze the whole time there. When my dad told me we were moving to Georgia, I was in heaven! Hot weather and sweet tea!

42 days for us! So I am dancing with everyone else:dance3:
