I think I have my DH convinced to do MVMCP...now what night to decide on???

Sunday 12/5 or Tuesday 12/7????

Does anyone know why the 5th is discounted and the 7th isn't? Thoughts on crowds?

Woo hoo!!

I am brain dead lately, have you started a PTR? Have you thought about doing one? I can't remember :rotfl:.

I haven't started one yet but I have been thinking about it. I was worried that no one would follow a first timer like me but, I think I will. Things have just been super busy here lately. I think a PTR would help pass my time. Keep an eye out this week!

I think for the most part I've gotten everything planned. Now, I just get to sit around and wait. I remember the one PTR (or maybe it a TR) that I read where the mom had made a calendar with Disney characters on it and such for her little girl to mark days off of. I still have a ways to go but I'm half tempted to make one for the last 30 days :lmao:. I need something to do to pass the time other then college classes :).

I don't know why they discount certain days. Maybe it has something to do with historical attendance being low? :confused3

 We will be there Dec 10-17th. This will be our first time this time of year for our honeymoon. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am not sure how to pack as I have heard that the weather could be somewhat warm, yet other days it can be in the 50's. I am also hoping that the crowds will not be overwhelming. Has anyone been down this time of year that they would know?

This year will be our 5th Dec trip since 2006. Weatherwise, you need to be prepared for all kinds of weather. I have been when it was 30 to 50 degrees all day to as high as 80 degrees during the day, starting at 50 early in the morning. On our first Dec trip in 2006, we were hoping for warm weather, but went prepared, thankfully, because I think the warmest it got most days was in the 50's and to us that is cold, last year was cold and wet. 2007 and 2008 were really very nice, being 50's in the morning, but them warming to the 80's.

Crowdwise, I don't think the crowds will be to big. This is the week after Pop Warner and the week before Christmas week, so it will probably be the best week to go.

I've done the same thing. I just yet again tonight canceled one breakfast reservation and got lucky and booked a Chef Mickey character breakfast for Christmas Eve morning.

We are eating at Chef Mickey's on Dec 26th before we head home. I haven't been able to go back to eat there since my mom passed away, it was her favorite place in all of WDW. I chose that day because at least if I get upset, I will be heading home.

Okay, we're finally booked, for better or worse - out of Manchester, NH on Southwest. DH squawked only a little at the price, but that direct flight is sooooo attractive. When we flew back through Newark in July our connecting flight to Burlington got cancelled and we ended up flying to Boston, renting a car and driving because DH HAD to be back at work the next day. SOOO - we're at POFQ from 12/22-12/28! Soooo excited, can't believe DH has agreed to this, don't know what came over him - perhaps it was all the pixie dust flung at him from my disboards buddies! ;) I've booked Crystal Palace for Christmas Day but what are others doing for their Christmas meal?

Which meal did you get at CP? We are having breakfast there on Christmas morning at 8:15. We had Christmas morning breakfast 2009 at CRT and I wanted something different this year.

We aren't doing any other planned meals that day, because we booked the Wishes Dessert Party and didn't want to spoil that by having a big meal :rotfl:

Everything is booked but the Candlelight Processional.. :thumbsup2

I have an alarm set on my phone for the morning of Aug 16th to call Disney :)
woo hoo- August 26th! :goodvibes

woo hoo- you will enjoy it- just think LAYERS. We've been twice in early December and we typically wear shorts/capris and t-shirts during the day, but carry a hoodie/light jacket at all times just in case. We take a midday break, so we usually change into jeans for the evening and long sleeves or short sleeves but bring a jacket. We were able to swim a few times- warm enough, but we've also experienced a couple of really cold nights. at least once during each trip, we had a very chilly night- on our MVMCP night, we had to break out our hats, gloves and scarves, it was in the 30s. During our WISHES dessert party, it was really windy and chilly unexpectedly. I wished i had more than our light jacket. The table next to us had two little ones in shorts and tees that were freezing. They were going around asking other guests if they could borrow clothing to wear! lol so definitely plan on layers!

Suzanne

Hi Suzanne! We're having lunch there at 1:10. I think I'd like to book the wishes dessert party too, but I'm not sure what night we want to do it. :)

So I was looking at the Wishes Dessert party - do you just call Dining to reserve it? It looks wonderful!

We have done it 3 times and really love it. For us it's worth it and already have reservations for our next trip. Just call Dining and they will set you up. :goodvibes

What kind are you making? I can't decide. I bought my boys red and green t-shirts that they aren't allowed to wear until the trip, but that is as far as I've got so far. :confused3

I am going to try and do tye dye shirts and I have some Disigns saved I want to use. But I am making santa Mickey heads and the our names with iron on vinyl and my Cricut! Hopefully it works as well as I think it should. I probably won't get to them today like I had planned. Totally forgot I had errands to run and I have my 3 yo neice for the week and well she is a handful.

Everyone keeps talking about the Wishes dessert party....and it's making me want to go! Ahhh!!!!:rolleyes1 Now I'll have to look at my schedule again when I get home today and see if it seems worth it any time that we are in MK.

My friend told me yesterday that she was very glad she booked it last December because it rained the night they went and they got to watch the fireworks from under a nice roof! :santa:

THat is a good point, RAIN definitely could happen! SO you could stay dry, watch the fireworks and have more dessert!! That's definitely a good deal!! It is vacation after all!! I read somewhere that all desserts at WDW on vacation are calorie free (at least don't count until you get home!!) :cake:

DO they have it at the MVMCP? :santa:
