No, I'm actually OLD, because I was TOO OLD for Animal House when it was released!

A true story - we were in a staff meeting when the manager said we'd be getting white noise machines for our cubicles. So I piped up, "Oh, a Cone of Silence!" Those my age and older laughed. Those 30 and under laughed, because of Nick at Night and TVLand. The ones in the middle - no clue!


You are correct. There are 3 separate offers.

I had a similar experience.....we were moving offices around, and I walked through the lobby carrying a chair and a lamp. I got to the door and exclaimed "This chair, and this lamp.....and that's ALL I NEED!!"...cue crickets chirping, as all the lobby staff is too young to have ever watched "The Jerk".

I wanted to share with you all that I just booked a 12 day mediterranean cruise for MAy 2011! My husbands first trip to Europe So excited I just had to tell everyone I knew! Now, if someone could point me in the direction of a Carnival Cruise Line disboard type thing I'll be all set

I wanted to share with you all that I just booked a 12 day mediterranean cruise for MAy 2011! My husbands first trip to Europe So excited I just had to tell everyone I knew! Now, if someone could point me in the direction of a Carnival Cruise Line disboard type thing I'll be all set

I made a comment jokingly to Daddy of Princesses about a red shirt and that comes from the original Star Trek series. It was because every time you saw someone on the show with a red shirt, you knew they wouldn't make it to the end of the episode.

I've been searching around the internet since I posted about my cruise and actually found those forums and have been reading things on them but they are so LAME in comparison to our lovely Disboards.... I'm slightly horrified to think that outside of the world of Disney travel, that no one plans as extensively and entertainingly as my fellow dis friends. I'm sorry. You guys are killing me with the movie quotes. I'm the WORST for not recognizing a quote when I hear one. I actually went to work and THOUGHT I was quoting my DH... unfortunately, he had been quoting Ric Flair (an old school wrestler). Anyway - I repeated the quote, and one of the guys working with me said "I know you are not quoting Ric Flair". I just shook my head and said "Yeah, I guess I am".

Next time you are watching Star Trek and they form an away team. It will be Kirk, Spock, Scotty or Bones, and some no name character in a red shirt. Guarantee, the red shirt kid won't make it back.

I think with most other vacations you don't need to plan nearly as much as you do with a Disney trip. That's what makes Disney so great.

I was going to give those 2 cruise boards to you. I used the first one years ago. We then switched to sailing on Radisson Seven Seas which is now Regent and there is another cruise forum dedicated to luxury cruising which is wonderful (luxurycruisetalk.com). It was from a friend on LCT that I learned of the DISboards when I began planning our first return trip to WDW in 24 years. I now say the DISboards is like any other bulletin board on steroids! I love the DISboards!

This was a few years back (yeah, I'm old), when Mack Brown was coaching at UNC... The Heels were ranked pretty high that year and Florida State was coming to town. WELL - we were talking about the game at work, and I said "if Mack wants to BE the man he's got to BEAT the man". If I had known who I was quoting, I would have put a Wooooo on the end!!!!!

LOL----i never noticed the red shirt, but of course you always know the 'new guy' is going to get killed off, the one that suddenly shows up and you've never seen before. even on TNG or DS9 now i will have to pay attention to the red shirt!
