**Official December 2010 Thread!!**

All booked for the Yacht Club Dec 4-11.

My Aussie girlfriend has no clue. She thinks she will be tagging along while I make a trip to Gainesville to help open a new distribution center for my company. I'll just make a quick detour in the rental car.


Still making some ADR's. I can't wait to see her face. She has wanted to go to WDW since she was tiny.

The Yacht and Beach Clubs are soooo beautiful at CHristmas!! We were lucky enough to stay there in November 2006 after seeing a special on HGTV that featured some of the decorations there and many other WDW hotels! It is an awesome place to stay you can just walk into EPcot and catch the boat over to DHS! There was a gingerbread carousel that was lifesize... AMAZING!!!

I'll bet you could find that video (if you haven't seen it) on HGTV archives or maybe on Youtube??

We are going back this year but staying at AKL, this will be our first December trip to WDW and the second for Christmas... I hope the AKL is close to as beautiful as the Yacht Club was, you are going to love it!!! Have a magical time!!!!

I hope she is surprised. I am going all out with the deception portion of the plan. Bringing up the fake "new distribution center" in casual conversation; leaving fake site plans on the coffe table; leaving a bunch of files on my computer desktop with "Gainesville Project" in the title. I love having a creative outlet for my devious streak.

I stayed at the Yacht Club back in 1997 for an academic competition. It was fantastic. Being so close to Epcot and all of the restaurants is one of my main reasons for choosing it. I can't wait to see how much the area has changed.

Just chatted with Disney. CM said gates for MVMCP will open at 4pm, same as previous years.

That's great news, although we know answers vary from one CM to another, so I'm going to keep inquiring along the way!

Just booked my Disney trip. Staying at POFQ from Nov 30- Dec 5th. I wanted to go the next week, but my work has me on time out that week, and the following week will be the start of peak season I think, so I changed my plans a bit!

We love POFQ. So far it's our favorite resort, but we're staying at AKL for the first time this trip. I can't wait to compare the two.

DH and I will be there at POFQ from Dec 9-14. We've got all of our ADRs except we couldn't get Le Cellier...now I'm just waiting on the CP! Hopefully we can get LC for that!

Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful resort, but just not my cup of tea and the transportation is seriously lacking. If you have any early morning ADR's, I would suggest you drive to them, because you will be late if you wait on the bus.

As usual, YMMV. I had no difficulties with the buses at AKL, and was never late for anything.

It happened both years we stayed there. I had to call Dining several mornings because of it, so they could let the restaurant know it wasn't our fault we were late.

Besides we don't like being that far out the back end of the property. We felt almost isolated.

We've stayed at AKL Kidani twice and never had any problems with the busses. Even during Christmas there was always a short wait. If we waited more then a few minutes a CM was over telling us they were sending a bus shortly. I can say it does take some getting used to if you are going to different resorts but after day 2 or 3 we were pros and knew how to get everywhere quickly. AKL is our Fav resort. Its beautiful and there is so much to see and do there that our last trip we did more resort days then park days. We did Pop once and will NEVER go back. I know we are trying OKW this time and we are scared it will disappoint since we love AKL so darn much. But I get to go back to my beloved AKL in March so all is good!

We've never been very lucky with busses. Having someone on a strict schedule would be a nightmare with Disney transportation.

One thing my family talks about often is how wonderful the Pop busses are. For some reason they have the best on property. We never had to wait very long at all. On that same trip we did a split stay at Saratoga Springs, well the busses there were VERY slow compared to Pop. Once when we were trying to get to Downtown Disney after park closing we didn't even try the SSR bus, we hopped on the one from Pop to make the transfer.
