Those are the tickets we have. This is our first time seeing it, and we have great seats. DH and I talked about it tonight, and we're just not willing to give it up. SO - it looks like we might be moving our trip to November. :goodvibes

Does anybody know if anything will be different with decorations or events in Nov. vs. Dec. The thing we most want to see is the gingerbread house at the GF. Will it be there in November? :confused3

There is also a gingerbread house in the Liberty Inn (counter service restaurant) in the American Adventure pavilion in Epcot :goodvibes .. hopefully you'll be able to see that one too!

For my fellow December Disney goers.....I am finalizing my plans and have cancelled some ADRs. O'hana on 12/12 @ 7:05pm. I know that is a hard one to get sometimes but there is one open now! I also have cancelled Crystal Palace on Sat 12/18 at 10:10am. We are keeping our 12/13 CP ressie. This evening I will be cancelling Cape May Breakfast buffet on 12/14 at 9:40 am.

In place of O'Hana, we are going to go to Planet Hollywood at DTD. That's my son's choice for his BD dinner. I am thinking of getting the $10 pp voucher from Undercover Tourist for the VIP front of the line pass and you can use the voucher toward the price of your meals. Has anyone used that before?? :santa:

wow, i am over 3000 posts and didn't realize it! woo hoo- only took me 10 years. :rotfl:(*used to be a lurker!)

here is the latest update on who is going when. Let me know if I missed anyone!

I messed up that quote above when I attempted to shorten it. I hope you see this exwdwcm!

You can add us to the roll call. I tried to send you a PM but your mailbox is full. We will be in a Savanah View room at Animal Kingdom Lodge Dec 12 - 19.

Since I booked with the 40% off pin we are not eligible for free dining. I sure am glad that I have all of my ADRs finished with the exception of the CPP. I got everything I wanted using the 190 day glitch.

I really need to get off the disney website and leave my trip alone!

That being said: Since I talked to the CM this morning and gave me the grim news of having to do two separate ressies to arrive on my date and then get free dining, I was pricing out some things and already all of the non-bunk bed rooms at WL are gone!:scared1: It's just my husband and myself, so we really don't want some extra beds in our room.?

Last year during our May visit I booked a bounce back for December. At that time the only rooms available in WL for the first week of December were bunk bed rooms. I think WL has a lot of regulars who always book for December so it has to be booked way in advance.

Hi there! :cool2:

It looks like you arrive the day after we leave, what a small world. I tell you all that's getting me through the heat here is thinking about our trip.

Tell me about it. Today was especially hot, so we took our dogs up to Mt. Charleston for a hike and it was ony around 75 degress. Beautiful! But, we had to come back into town eventually... hello 105.... Bring on disney in December!

I was just told by a CM on the phone that all CPP require 2 table service credits from the DDP. Doesn't seem reasonable that lunch at a Tier 1 restaurant would cost as many credits as dinner at a tier 3 restaurant. If anyone used DDP last year for CPP and knows if all tiers require 2 credits, please let us know.
Also, any news about narrators for the days that haven't been announced yet?
Thanks:santa::santa:

Cool! I didn't know about that one! Thanks!!! :goodvibes Can you walk inside it and buy gingerbread, too? :confused3

I have, last year. I did CSR in January and AKL in September. Now I'm going back to CSR. It's a great resort - queen beds, a fitness resort, first bus out of the parks. We really enjoyed it, and I'm excited to go back (funny - I also tried WL, but wanted a standard room - all sold out). In the Resorts forum, there's a CSR FAQ thread you might want to check out:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2338336

Thanks! I'm getting really excited about it!

We stayed at CSR last year and loved it! It's a beautiful resort and made us feel like we were stepping into another world. The lobby has a wonderful fountain and the grounds are so pretty. There are even hammocks to relax on by the water. We were also very impressed with the rooms and the bedding (I agree that bedspreads are less appealing). The resort had a renovation in 2009, which definitely helped. The dark wood furniture also made everything seem so rich. You'll love it!

The rooms look so nice! Way less tacky than WL :rotfl:

Aghhh LA NOUBA is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!! I love love love cirque du soleil. La Nouba is one of my all time favorites.. out of this world! I have seen it 4 times! I just can not get enough of it!

Have you seen it before?

PS> loveeee CSR! not sure if its the memories that it carries but either way its awesome!

We haven't seen La Nouba, but with a reaction like that, I'm sure we'll love it. We live in Las Vegas, home to many Cirque shows, so my husband needs to see this one to have seen all of them. I've seen O at Bellagio (although it is very popular, I didn't like it that much), Viva Elvis at Aria at City Center (was very good, especially if you like Elvis), and Love at the Mirage (by far the best, and I'm not really a Beatles fan!) I'm hoping to make great memories at CSR, too =)

i haven't stayed there, but visited quite a few times- the rooms look fabulous (a friend was staying there), the pool looks really fun too. We've actually had to stop by there to use their business center before! lol

I'm not sure how much swimming we'll do, but that pool does look like tons of fun. I do plan to spend some time in a hammock, though =)

Last year during our May visit I booked a bounce back for December. At that time the only rooms available in WL for the first week of December were bunk bed rooms. I think WL has a lot of regulars who always book for December so it has to be booked way in advance.

We actually already had the WL booked in Woods View, it was when I went to add my free dining, there was the Courtyard View for about 12 hours, but I waited too long and all those got snatched up so only bunks were left... or concierge, which is a little steep. It's ok because I wasn't really into WL rooms, they're kinda ... not the most attractive. Woo hoo for the white down comforters at CSR =)

Ahhh, that sounds nice. I had to work which means running errands for the people at my law firm who don't seem to think about the temp outside when they have me go out to do something that really doesn't need to be done.

Love the FB group!

The discounts were only through the 20somethingeth, right? I want to make sure I haven't missed any deals on my dec30th check in date yet!

It took three calls and some improvising but we got free dining. Originally Dec. trip was the 3rd thru the 11th at POFQ. Exactly the black out dates for free dining. The first cm: free dining only thru 10/2/10. Even when given the code he insisted that no free dining it ends 10/2/10. The second call the cm said we could not arrive on the second and extend dining through our trip. The third cm named "JULY" was wonderful. Yes we can arrive Dec. second and get free dining through our trip. We were not able to get POFQ :( but we did get CBR. Get this: Originally had 30% off POFQ for 8 nights DXDP. Now have CBR 9 nights DXDP and It is still $400.00 less that original Pkg. ( adults, one 11 year old (adult DP) and 1 Child). We can not arrive until the 3rd but it is still less paying to not use the hotel room one night and adding a night of dining. More meal credits for signature dining. We will miss POFQ though.
Just goes to shoor the answer you are looking for. LOL. Got to love it.

If I understand correctly, your package begins on the 2nd but you will not be arriving until the 3rd?

If so, you will want to make sure that Disney has these arrangements noted on your reservation. Otherwise, they will consider you a "no show" and will cancel your reservation when you don't check in on the 2nd!

Thanks:santa::santa:

For CP, yes, all tiers at all shows times required 2 TS credits last year. However, Fantasmic packages require one or two credits, based on the restaurant you are choosing. As such, I would hope the CP would follow suit this year!

I just contacted Disney now and they said still no word on the missing dates.

Cool! I didn't know about that one! Thanks!!! :goodvibes Can you walk inside it and buy gingerbread, too? :confused3

No, this one is smaller than the one at the GF. But it is still worthy of stoping in to take a look. I only took 2 photos of this versus about 9 of the one in GF.

There You See Her is correct. However, if you decide to do lunch for the 5:00 show and pay out of pocket for it there is a complete price structure of different prices for different tier restaurants for the various show times. That would be an option to consider if you wanted to save your dining credits to use for a Signature restaurant dinner for instance.

our reservations are for dec 23rd to the 27th currently. i just called to see if i'd be able to change to dec 21st to the 27th to take advantage of the free dining, then upgrade to DxDDP, but heard there are no rooms available on the 21st!:sad2: guess it's going to be busy at the poly when we come to check in!

I was getting ready to post the same thing. We booked thinking we could come 2 days later (just pay for the 2 nights we'd miss). The CM told me that if you don't check-n within 24 hours of your reservation you are considered a no-show and you entire reservation is cancelled. :guilty: So, we are having to change our plans. No AKL for us! I'm sure the CM got it right because she put me on hold to double check the policy. She couldn't figure out any way around it for us.

yes, i think that is how it was last year and if i was on the dining plan, not sure I would use 2 credits, just not a good value (unless you just have extra you are trying to get rid of). i haven't seen anymore news on the narrators yet, though i am anxiously awaiting too! :confused3:thumbsup2

Ahhh, that sounds nice. I had to work which means running errands for the people at my law firm who don't seem to think about the temp outside when they have me go out to do something that really doesn't need to be done.
ouch- i so what is the temp in vegas this time of year? I've been in july, but it's been years. i remember it was such a different heat than what we are used to here in Dallas (much like florida with the humidity). the dry heat was hard for me to get used to! i am heading to Vegas in 2 weeks- staying at the Wynn the 24th-28th for work. Hoping to fit in a little craps hopefully and fun! love Vegas- DH and I got married at Mandalay Bay almost 10 years ago!:woohoo:

just goes to show you have to try again sometimes by calling back. every CM is different- and keep in mind not all are in the same location of course (many remote), so you never know who you will get or what information they have in hand. I can tell you, after working for disney myself, sometimes communication was a definite struggle internally. glad you finally got a knowledgeable one!

I was getting ready to post the same thing. We booked thinking we could come 2 days later (just pay for the 2 nights we'd miss). yep, they will cancel your room/reservation for the whole trip if you do not check in on your slated date. I know many people do this in vegas- they book multiple rooms at different hotels (usually comped) just to get the freebies that come with the deal (like casino credits) and they don't really use the room, yet you do have to check in personally still. disney is the same. heck, the Gaylord here in the DFW area actually cancelled our room on us for a holiday party Dh's work hosted there. Due to the awful traffic (for the ICE display), we arrived to the party late and went to check in at like 9pm and they had given our room away already- even though it was still the same arrival date, just not late arrival (and they were overbooked). just one of the main people on the reservation would have to check in- i don't know that it requires everyone to be there.

We are booked for December 12th - 17th 2010. Staying at the Contemporary Resort. My Sister and I are going together.

Wow...I was away for a couple of days and we have a ton of new people! I guess Free Dining brought on all the folks who were on the fence. Welcome everyone! :grouphug:

We are getting ready for summer vacation and our trip to CA. For the last 3 days all DD can talk about is "packing up" for vacation. We'll be at DL for 2 days with some friends celebrating DH's b-day. Can't wait! It'll be my Disney fix til December.

We still haven't told the kids about the December trip....I just can't decide how best to tell them. DD told me the other day that she would love to be surprised with a Disney trip sometime, but I just don't know if I have the self-control to make it a surprise!:laughing:
