exwdwcm,

Hi, don't mean to bother you, I have a favor.

Could you please make a couple changes to my information in the post about who is going in December?

Please completely remove: Nov 28- Dec 10 mrsksomeday Wilderness Lodge/Polynesian

Also the link for my Dec. 2 - 10 takes me to the signature picture not my PTR. The link for that is: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2502545

I am so sorry I know all these changes are a pain. Bill told me he doesn't care if TnT back out again, we are keeping those dates :rotfl:.

Hope you are having a great day.

Tracy

Ugghhh..... Just had to deal with a very inexperienced CM. I called to see if the free dining option would be cheaper than my pin code. She told me I already had the free dining. Don't know how as I check in on 12/9 a day before it begins. So ok, I let that go. I had to add another room for my in-laws. Apparently it could not be added to my existing reservation, she had to create a whole new one. I did that over an hour ago. Still no email confirmation and when I try and pull up that reservation number, I get an error saying it cannot be found. Guess who's going to be calling again later. :scared:

Wow...I was away for a couple of days and we have a ton of new people! I guess Free Dining brought on all the folks who were on the fence. Welcome everyone! :grouphug:

We are getting ready for summer vacation and our trip to CA. For the last 3 days all DD can talk about is "packing up" for vacation. We'll be at DL for 2 days with some friends celebrating DH's b-day. Can't wait! It'll be my Disney fix til December.

We still haven't told the kids about the December trip....I just can't decide how best to tell them. DD told me the other day that she would love to be surprised with a Disney trip sometime, but I just don't know if I have the self-control to make it a surprise!:laughing:

we are surprising our DD with our trip also. but it's so hard. only had our room book for a week and i'm already busting @ the seams to tell her about it!
i still haven't decided on a cute way to surprise her with it. still looking for ideas!

ouch- i so what is the temp in vegas this time of year? I've been in july, but it's been years. i remember it was such a different heat than what we are used to here in Dallas (much like florida with the humidity). the dry heat was hard for me to get used to! i am heading to Vegas in 2 weeks- staying at the Wynn the 24th-28th for work. Hoping to fit in a little craps hopefully and fun! love Vegas- DH and I got married at Mandalay Bay almost 10 years ago!:woohoo:

Yesterday the official temp was 104 but the readout in my car got up to 108 while I was running around. It was muggy yesterday too, nothing like florida with the humidity, but it just felt sticky out.
It should be between 105-110 when you are here, so stay in the A/C as much as you can! I have lived here my whole life so I can't wait to move but I think a lot of people feel that way about the place they grow up in. Being so very local we never really do any of the tourist stuff unless friends or family come to town. But I've been to the Wynn once to see Spamalot and it was very nice so I hope you have a fun time and do well at the craps tables and don't melt! :cool2:

Spreading some pixie dust in hopes you receive a more competent CM with the next call! :wizard:

exwdwcm - Can you add me to your list? Somehow I got missed. :confused3 We'll be there 12/4 - 12/11 at AKV Kidani. Thanks :grouphug:

Oh and our MVMCP date is 12/5!

wow that'll be an amazing surprise!!

Hmm.. is she into princesses/fairies? you could get her a Disney costume (maybe cinderella dress/tinkerbell outfit) and a card 'from' the Fairy Godmother, saying "if you wish upon a star, we can go to a magical place!"

It would work even better if you had a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment planned? Just an idea! :cutie:

I was getting ready to post the same thing. We booked thinking we could come 2 days later (just pay for the 2 nights we'd miss). The CM told me that if you don't check-n within 24 hours of your reservation you are considered a no-show and you entire reservation is cancelled. :guilty: So, we are having to change our plans. No AKL for us! I'm sure the CM got it right because she put me on hold to double check the policy. She couldn't figure out any way around it for us.

We talked to the cm about the possibility of not being able to change flights and at first she said that we needed to check in by 11 am or call the hotel directly and tell them that we are running late and when we would be in. The whole package will be paid in full ahead of time so I don't see where they can cancel you reservation out right as long as you contact them.

We surprised our grandkids this past November, they had no clue until the night before we stepped on the plane. I was the best thing we ever did!

I made a slideshow video for the reveal. The look on their faces was priceless when they realized where they were going.

Good luck on keeping it a secret, I know how hard that is.

She LOVES Cinderella and we actually do have an apptintment for BBB so that would be perfect! Such a good idea! And I love the "if you wish upon a star, we can go to a magical place!" Maybe I could even find like a small plastic star for her to wish on. Thank you for the idea!!!

Wow! That is awesome to do a slideshow. I'm thinking about video taping her reaction. I am pretty sure she is going to freak out...as long as I can keep from telling her.:rolleyes1
My husband wanted to wait and not tell her until we pulled into Disney and just let her figure it out. But I think I want to tell her literally RIGHT before we leave.

That is what I thought, too. I told the CM that we just wanted to pay for the 2 nights we couldn't be there. She asked me to hold while she checked the policy. She was gone for a few minutes, so I'm sure she checked. She said that unfortunately their policy required them to cancel the entire reservation if you don't check in within 24 hours. I told her that we would have already paid, but she said that wouldn't matter. I think I might call again just to double check, but she seemed to know what she was talking about, and she did get confirmation.

We did video tape Hannah and Christian :thumbsup2.

Here is the slidehow, I read it outloud to them in the reveal video since Hannah was going on 5 at the time. I got some of the wonderful pictures from here on the DIS. (click the picture it will open in a new window):

We had told them we were going to Pigeon Forge and were stopping at Nashville for the night in a hotel. Then we told them we had something for them to watch and they had to be quiet until it was over and because we were in a hotel :rotfl:.

Here is the reaction (sorry it is crooked) (click the picture it will open in a new window)::

I guess it's the drugs from my surgery... but somehow I missed this...

Our trip is planned for the week of Dec 2 (or 4) - 11.

Is that Pop Warner week?

If it is, what does that mean????

Please don't flame me... but, I shudder at the thought of being at Disney with cheerleaders everywhere. (Thankfully I have boys!)

Anyway, does anyone have any Pop Warner experience?

November is starting to look better and better to me... :guilty:

Last year, I was there for a few days of Pop Warner week.. and I honestly can't say I would've known it was PWW if it hadn't been for reading the DIS and other disney sites! we saw a couple of groups of cheerleaders at Orlando airport, then a couple of times in the parks... but not large groups, only about 8-10 girls and always with adults.
As I understand it, they spend most of the days at Wide World of Sports, and then go into the parks in the evenings.. I think they are more of a problem in the Pop/All Star and some of the moderate resorts (CBR?) where the majority stay... this is where I've read stories about the late night shouting/cheering
IMO I was far more aware of the South American tour groups last summer - they were in groups of around 30-50 students and were very very loud, chanting and clapping in queue lines and while waiting for Fantasmic to start.. I believe the CMs now try to quieten them down as it's not fair on other Disney guests? not sure about this though.

December really is a wonderful time to visit WDW... I hope PWW doesn't deter you! but then November will also have the holiday decorations up.. :santa:

Glad I could help!! I had a similar idea for DF's niece last year (long story, but in the end she couldn't come to WDW with us :sad2:!) .. I got a cinderella dress & some disney magazines and put them in a big gift box (from the disney store); and I got a personalized card made from an online greetings card site (we have one called 'MoonPig' here, sure there must be a similar US site?!)

The words were "Dear Princess, your trip to Walt Disney World has finally arrived! To make your trip extra special, you are invited to the BBB to be treated like a princess, followed by a visit to the castle in the Magic Kingdom - where we will meet cinderella and have a royal dinner! Love, your Fairy Godmother"

Love it!! I've just bookmarked your TR from that trip to read all about it :goodvibes

When first booking, we did not get park hopper but it's beginning to look like we should. Can Park Hopper option be added when we check in? Does the option have to be for the entire 10 day MYW tickets or can we add after a day or two have already been used? Thanks for replies.

Park Hopping can be added at any time, even after the ticket has been used. It's a flat fee, no matter how long your ticket is; same price for adding it to a 1 day or a 10 day. It makes sense not to buy it until you know that you want to use it. You can wait until you're about to enter the second park and get it added there!

If you are staying at one of the All Stars resorts I would be worried. Pop Warner folks (not all just the few who ruin it for everyone) can be loud and obnoxious. Also from what I hear the food court is extremely crowded.

The Pop Warner folks don't effect the parks much during the day since they are competing during that time. We are going during that week and our TA who has been during that week many times even recommends going that week as long as you are not staying at one of the resorts where the Pop folks stay.

you must have some powerful pixie dust :goodvibes because i think i got some of it here . i just got off the phone with a more competent CM, who was able to move our reservation up to the 21st, so we could get the free dining and upgrade to the DxDP!!!:banana: ... so we added an extra day onto our trip, which means another day at the amazing poly, kept the DxDP, added another day of park hopping, but only paid $50 dollars more for the whole trip!! :dance3::dance3:

exwdwcm .. thank you for everything you've done with the list!!! could you change us to dec 21st to the 26th .. still at the poly. thank you!!!
