OFFICIAL December 2009!! Celebrating the Holidays.. ADR list page 41 :)

November hours didn't come out until around Aug 4. :sad2: I need Nov and Dec. My ADR date is Aug 30, and since I'm not counting on December hours to be out then, I'm planning without them. Hope it works!

I'm with you, I make my ADRs on August 31st. Please don't take all the good times and the good restaraunts :) just kidding

Are you planning on attending MVMCP? We're going on Dec. 1st.

I promise to leave a few good ones for you! ;) What are you planning on booking? I've been following a few threads about Nov ADRs, and it looked like everyone was getting what they wanted, and then I just read the Nov ADR "Need/Trade/Cancel" thread, and people are posting about not being able to get restaurants they wanted. :confused3 Oh well, guess we'll wait and see...

I think we've decided against MVMCP. We were thinking about going on Dec 4th, but it would cost us almost $200, and with little kids (5 and 1), we're worried they won't last long enough to get our money's worth. So as of right now, we're not going to go, but it sounds like fun!

Dec 4 is an awesome day...my oldest sons bday!!! But, I would advice you NOT to do MVMCP on a Friday night:scared1: I think it would be just way too many people for you and your babies...the later you stay the better, and they would be just way too fried!!! We are coming in on the 5th, and are debating onthe party on Sun or Th..if we do it at all. We'll see!!!

Yay for WDW in December! :) I've often gone the first week of January, but this is the first time I've been able to plan a trip for the first week of December. My birthday is December 3rd, so this is a dream come true for me! My boyfriend has also NEVER been, so this will be his first trip. We had hoped to stay at POFQ, but as we're doing this trip on a tight budget, in the end decided to save the $600 and go with ASMo. :bday:

Wow! That sounds like a lot of fun for both of you!! I say staying at a value and going to WDW on a budget is better than not going at all! I hope your boyfriend enjoys it as much as you! (and the rest of us Disneyholics!)

Welcome! We are staying at Allstar Music. There is nothing wrong with staying at a Value. It just gives me more to spend other ways!

Thank you, I couldn't agree more! :D Not to mention that anytime I go to WDW, I never seem to spend much time in my hotel anyhow!

That's absolutely right. :) The choice came down to going for 3-4 nights at a moderate, or 5-6 nights at a Value. It was kind of a no-brainer, we both want to spend as much time in the magic as we can. ;)

amen!!!

Hi everyone! I think I joined this thread several months ago when we first booked the trip, I'm not sure. Anyhow, I'd like to "re-join" if I can.

This is our first Disney trip ever. We're going November 30-December 7 and staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I am so excited right now I could pee my pants. :rotfl2: It will be me (42) DH (48) and our two daughers, DD6 and DD3 (DD3 is turning 3 while we are there, on December 6.)

I am dying to get the park hours, and sort of nervous about booking my ADR's although I have them mostly planned out.

Ahhhh! I'm so happy! It's getting closer!!!!

I feel like I'm more excited than my 4 year old  It seems to be so close yet so far away :) We'll be at POP from Dec 1st to Dec 8th--and we're doing MVMCP on the 1st and the 3rd. I know it seems crazy to do it two nights but I'm just crazy:rotfl:

Will the crowd-levels from December 26 - January 2nd, be absolutely horrendous? Do you think it might be less crowded than usual because many took advantage of the 4/3, FD, and room-only discounts earlier in the year?

We usually go to WDW every year sometime during the last 2 weeks of August. Crowd levels are very tolerable (before free dining) and except for the heat/humidity/hurricanes, it's a great time to go!

We'd love to take a trip to WDW this December, but DD's Christmas break doesn't start until 12-24, so I am considering 12/26-1/2, but I'm a little apprehensive. We'd be staying at either the CR/Tower or BLT if we go.

If you've ever been during this time period, would you go back, or was it just too crazy and stressful?

TIA!

We got our dates finally finalised. :cool1: We are using frequent flier miles and kept having to change our trip dates do to available seats. We finally took the plunge and reserved the flights and dash it all!! we have to stay an extra 2 days!!!! However will we cope??!! :lmao: So we will now be at the Pop Dec.5th -14th. We got that pin for the free regular DDP and with the free airfare I think we did pretty good. Got our ADRs ready to go for the call in date, and since we planned around the holiday festivities I don't think not knowing the Dec park hours is going to effect our plans much. Only one problem, with most of the planning done, what am I going to do for the next 3 months? :rotfl2:

That is the BUSIEST time of the year to go and of you don't arrive prior to park opening you might not get in to the parks at all. I am really worried because we have decided to stay until Dec 22 and I imagine even then it is going to be bad, but there is no way on this earth that I would even begin to be near WDW between Dec 24 and Jan 3

I think crowds might be a little smaller, but not much.

Suzanne

!0 is the highest crowd level. It will be beneficial if you arrive early and make use of the fast past. You can get a new one once the last one can be used or two hours after you got the last one which ever comes first. If you plan it right you can avoid some of the long waits. Best wishes for all who visit in this time frame.

Woohoo! Sounds like you got some good deals. I'm waiting for the ADR date too, so I can take care of that and then we will just have to DIS the time away!! We can share packing lists, schedules, shop for trip necessities...
I still have to book a flight home (we are driving down and the kids and I plan to fly back so they don't miss so much school). I missed out when the flight was $89 and we weren't sure of our dates. Now they're about $139. :(

We are set to go for Dec 19-26! I am really excited but NERVOUS about the crowd levels.

We have always gone in the summer and our biggest complaint was the weather. The crowds never really bothered us.

How much worse are the crowds the week before Christmas compared to July-August???

DH is really going out on a limb for me because I want to see WDW at Christmastime, but I am really worried it is going to be too nutty.

Even if you are staying on-property (CR/BLT)? I thought that you were guaranteed admittance? So, for example, if I go to MK in the AM, and then want to go to Epcot for my dinner ADR, they might not let us in unless I had already gotten into Epcot in the AM prior to it being closed? If true, this is not good:scared1:.

Thank you for posting the crowd levels during our proposed time frame:eek:. I knew it would be as bad as it can get, but we've never experienced it first-hand, and I know that many love going at Christmastime.

For years we've always gone mid-late August. The August weather is so hot and humid and there's always the hurricane/TS threat that I worry about and/or have experienced, that I thought the beautiful late December weather would slightly make-up for the intense crowds - but probably not:sad2:. We were thinking we could do the parks early AM then seek refuge back at the CR or BLT after lunch. The only other time we can go to WDW is Spring Break (March/April), which from what I've read, is just about as crowded as mid-late December?

How then do all these DISers who go every Christmas do it year after year? Do tell!

They can only have so many people in the park at any given time. That is why we are counted going in and again going out. Once they reach Max no one can go in until someone comes out. The only time this seems to happen is at the holiday. Maybe someone who has been to the world on or close to a holiday can give more details.

I was just they this past month and the crowd level were at 9 and 8. We did not wait more than 30 min for anything during our 8 days at the parks. We used the fastpass system and a computer on line program called Ridemax to plan our days. Ridemax is a program you bough into for a period of time. Although we were not able to follow the Roidemax plan completely it did give us a great start on the day.

The biggest tip I can give you is to avoid the parks with the EMH. Many folks go without the hopper option and also use EMH causing those parks to more crowded than the others and although you have extra hour/s in the park that time could be used waiting in longer lines.

If you go just go knowing that you will wait longer and ride less. Have that as part of your plan and you should be fine. The crowds can be part of the magic as long as you do not allow them to get to you. You know your family best and can decide if the crowds will be OK or cause melt downs while waiting 40 to 60+ min in line for a ride.

Let us know what you decide.

I will need to post the expected crowd level for your dates but need to get to work. If I remember correcting for your dates it will be much the same as July. You should be fine.
