OFFICIAL December 2009!! Celebrating the Holidays.. ADR list page 41 :)

:rotfl2: - You're too funny!

I think our travel dates are quite similar. We arrive Sunday at 10:30A and are planning to hit the party that night (the 6th). We will have 4 full days to hit the parks and two half/semi-days to do DTD or hit a park twice, so I am not worried about seeing it all during the party as we will be back to MK on another day. If I am reading correctly you are worried that the kids won't be able to see all/do all - I think Sunday is just as good as the Tues or Thurs cause Sun is also a "school night" - or at least I'm hoping. I too can't commit to my MVMCP tickets until those darn hours are released!

Here's to waiting :drinking1

We're going to MVMCP on Sunday 12/6. Got the tickets already. I had to kind of guess, but most of our party is arriving that afternoon, so it works out okay. I've been guessing as to the parks hours for EMH and stuff so I have a tentative schedule planned.
Sun - MVMCP
Mon - DHS and Osborne (hoping Fantasmic too)
Tues - either MK or Epcot, probably Epcot
Wed - either MK or Epcot, probably MK
Thurs - leave for cruise
I'm trying to decide if I want to do MK on a party day and leave and go have dinner at Epcot. we also want to do Candlelight Processional at Epcot (Yay, two dinners in Epcot!). We usually avoid pm EMH and try to get to am EMH. So the schedule will be helpful.

Our schedules are pretty similar, except we plan to take advantage of the evening EMH. This is my rough outline, pending park hours:
Sun - Dinner at GF then MVMCP
Mon - DHS (I think we're going to skip Fantasmic this year, Madi's only 2)
Tues - MK or Epcot
Wed - AK
Thurs - MK or Epcot (whichever we miss Tues)
Fri - DTD or a 2nd day at a park, depart at 7:30P

Come on September! I need my hours !!! I hope they are prompt with getting the hours out Sept 1st!

I believe the biggest issue we will run into is getting reservations. You can make your ADR at 90 days out. I suspect that the ADR will fill up very fast exspcially if you want the Fantasmic Dining package. I can make my ADR on 9/10/09 So when is your day. I also believe the on line ADR system is still up and running. This will be my first time using this system.

Happy planning!!! Lois

We were going to be going Dec. 12 - 19 but had to change it because my husband just started school this week and his finals are that week. **biting nails** Now that they released the free dining I have to say I'm glad we did change it. Last year we were on our Honeymoon Dec 6 - 14 and it was PACKED. I think the free dining was part of it. Sorry guys, but I do. We are now going Dec. 31 - Jan 9. I'm hoping most people who were going to go the first week of January now want to go in December for the free dining. I know, I'm bad. But I'm so used to low crowds. I'm spoiled.

Sounds like most of you are going to the MVMCP on the 6th, we are planning to do the party on Thurs. the 10th, with ya'll going on the 6th I wonder if we'll have the place to ourselves? :cool1::rotfl2:

We chickened-out, we're wimps, we just couldn't do it. We (meaning DH and I, not DD:rolleyes1) decided not to go to WDW at Christmas, for a variety of reasons:

Just the rack-rate alone is 45% higher than in Value season. We would have gotten 20% off the room, but compared with 40% off in Value, that's 90% higher! I found it hard to get past that comparison.

And, then there are the crowds, crowds, and more crowds:scared1:

We'll just have to hold out 7 more years until DD is in college (it flies by, doesn't it;)), and then we can go at our favorite time of the year - the first week in December when crowds are low, it's still Value season, the weather is lovely and everything is decorated. Until then, we'll just stick with our usual August trip.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question and I hope you have terrific WDW vacations, no matter when you go:santa:

I'm wondering how the free dining is going to change the anticipated crowd levels.

I plead guilty! We went to WDW for the first time less than 3 months ago, and were planning to go back in December 2010 with my parents... but mostly because of the free dinning, we decided to go in December 2009 instead! It was a little too out of the blue for my parents though, who decided to wait until our next trip to join us.

We'll be there December 5th to 12th (ASMu with free QSDP, exactly the same we had on our first trip), and plan on attending MVMCP on the 10th. I'm so excited!!! I'm out of vacation, so I'm even taking a week without pay to go, isn't that nuts?! (well, my mom thinks so :rolleyes1)

108 days to go, and everyone around me is already fed up hearing me talk about Disney, so I might have to hang around here a bit :rotfl:

Don't count us out yet... we're waiting it out. We may be joining you the 10th :rotfl:

Well,,, I am leaning more toward the 10th if we do the party....and we are going the same days as you...except the 13 is our departure day. How funny!!! I am sure we will see each other since it'll just be us at the MVMCP!!! Ha!!!!! And I don't even talk Disney to people any more unless they are planning...then they start asking me stuff!!!

We are there the same time too but we leave on the 10th for the cruise. So we pretty much had between Sun and Tues to choose from. Most of our group arriving on Sun, so that's what I decided we were doing. Lucky for me, I get to make all the decisions, ADRs etc. Hope they are all cool with it!
I talk about Disney so much, I'm sure people just tune me out. But, I do get lots of attention if someone else is considering going or planning a trip. I guess I've established myself as an expert. Thanks DIS! You just have to chat with us - it's what we do!!! Welcome to the gang!

FYI for those of you on the DDP and planning to do the CP package - I read on another thread that someone called to book for the first night and it is now 2TS!! Odd, seeing as how all the restaurants are normally 1 TS.
Anyhow - there is also talk of set menus for the package, but I haven't seen any confirmation of that yet.
I'm quite  as I don't have TS to spare, and feel like I'm going to be "wasting" one.
OR I may do it OOP,
OR, I may just chance it, eat what, when and where I want, and stand in line.
:confused3
Does anyone have any experience with whether a later show might be less crowded or an earlier one?

I recommend an Illuminations Cruise and invite two newly weds.. :rotfl: !!
Jenny that's so exciting your parents are going!!
My sister and I arrive December 9th so we'll miss them lol... if they are 'in' to Disney then I'd think they should definitely get tickets to the Merry Christmas Party in MK....

you can do a dinner package with the Candlelight Processional in Epcot :)

and order them a surprise holidays gift from the Disney Florist!

Emma princess: xx

We are going Dec 29-Jan 2, expecting lots of crowds. We were thinking to do MK on the 30th and Epcot on the 31st... based on past years, what times will these parks close? And if they do close, can you stand in line and wait to enter as other guests leave? Finally, as far as last year goes, what were the park hours on these days?
Thanks!

I'm on the list but I added a day at the beginning, now I'm 12/5 at AKL and 12/6 - 12/10 at Bay Lake Tower. No need to amend it! :)

Oh, how much longer til December hours????? AAAHHH this is making me nuts!

You and me both girl!!! Well...I guess we will all be nutcases together!Does anyone HONESTLY think that disney will post park hours before our Labor Day/ADR day? I mean, geez, they have that whole first week of Sept.!!! Surely!!!! they know even now what the schedule is!! I find it hard to believe that they don't! I mean, they have peoples schedules/rehearsals to deligate. And we KNOW that they don't wait till that close for all that stuff...surely:eek: :confused3

Oh I am crossing my fingers that they hours are up and in full on September 1st. 1 more week and we'll know for sure!

DH and I are going 12/5-12/12! Sent off the first payment today! :woohoo: We're excited! We went with my family in Dec 2007 and LOVE IT during that time of year! DH's birthday is Dec 7th so it's a Christmas/birthday celebration. I'm not sure what the crowds will be like that week b/c of free Dining, but in 2007 the crowds and the weather were great! I'm sure crowds will be up a little since they do have to free dining going on. We're DYING to order our MVVCP tickets and make ADRs!! Wish they would hurry up and put up the Dec park hours! So excited!:santa:

I think my ticker will be pretty exciting tomorrow! 100 days!
Well, at some point tomorrow, since the thing counts hours! I guess it will really be on Wednesday (which is also my birthday!!)
