OFFICIAL December 2009!! Celebrating the Holidays.. ADR list page 41 :)

I've tried to put together an itinerary. It's based on last year's hours, though so it's penciled in! I've just printed off menus for the restaurants we're considering so I can go over them with my in-laws next week while we're on vacation at their house.

I'm hoping to utilize AM EMH, we're usually up early anyway. Might try to avoid PM EMH if I can.

Our important things to do -
Candlelight Processional (dinner package hopefully)
Osborne lights at DHS
MVMCP (got tickets for 12/6)
tour resorts - GF, WL, Yacht/Beach, Ft Wild. (campers)
see Santas from around the world (Epcot)
Illuminations
EAT!!!

Tell me more about these Santas...are they there at scheduled times? Do you know if its usually all December? Sounds cool!

Thanks Shawna! It's just too cool! I will be on the boards during vacation some - we're taking the laptop and we just got iphones, so we are totally techy-geeks now. We have no idea what to do with them, so it's a fun learning process.
Who's going to be getting up at the crack of dawn on Labor Day (9/7) with me??

Count me in for Labor Day! Is online ADR 6Am and phone lines is 7AM (EST)?

I just found this thread and am looking forward to our second Disney Holiday in a row. We arrive 12/26 through 1/3 with DW, 2-DD's and DGD. My wife and I did the week after Thanksgiving last year and had a super great time. We stayed at POP and this year we are coming back to ASMu FS. Can't wait!!:woohoo:

I'm not sure of the details as to when they appear. I would guess it's on some sort of schedule. I read something about storytellers too.

Yes, I believe those are right! Meet you there! :surfweb:

There is a "Holiday Storyteller" (not all country's have Santa ;)) for each country in WS and they will be listed with their time on the Times Guide you pick up with the park maps. They tell a little story about the traditions from their country. I believe they are there mid to late Nov thru Early Jan.

We are booked for 12/17-12/23. Got free dining WOOHOO!!! This is our first December trip. My DB and DSIL and their two girls have been in October and I went with them in 2006 the week before Thanksgiving and it was great because we still got to do all the Christmas stuff. This time we are a grand gathering of 10. My parents are going as well as my other brothers kids and it will be their first trip. We are all pumped! I'm afraid it will be crowded...anybody know what we can expect? When do the crowds typically come in?

Based on the last 3 years, I would have to say probably Sat. Dec 19. I was shocked at how crowded it was on Dec 20, 2008 as it hadn't been that crowded that soon the years before, but it was the worst I have ever seen it. I am concerned at what I am getting myself into this year, but it will be alright.

Thanks for the info. I've been stressing about it. At least we will have a couple of good crowd free days. Maybe if we plan right, we will be ok. It was so nice in 2006 when we went in November. The day before Thanksgiving was the only time it got crowded. I keep thinking that maybe there won't be many people since the economy isn't great and plus I have seen soooo many people say they are going in Sept./Oct. I can dream right? Oh and by the way WAR EAGLE!!!!!:thumbsup2

Looks like our plans are firming up very nicely! Our TA managed to have the Free Dining code applied to our reservation! Last year, we went with a room discount code and the savings was great. This year though, the room discount isn't as fantastic. So FD will suffice! Still thrilled to be able to go!!:santa: Now, I wonder when the Nov and Dec park hours will be released... Have to plan for ADRs!

We are going to Disney for the MVMCP from November 30-Dec. 7th. It will be our first time there for the Christmas decorations and activities.

Wow, just booked 12/10 -12/17 at Allstar Music! Now I just need to figure out how to save the money for this and still have enough for our back to back next fall (2010) My be a part time job in my future. Looking forward to planning with everyone. Lois

The only reason I stressed that day last year was because I had my cousin's 10 year old with me and I use an ECV and was trying to hold her hand while driving through that crowd. Had it been Dh and myself, I wouldn't have worried, we would have just called each other and found a meeting place.

Utilize EMH and you should be fine. Most of the time we don't use the Morning EMH, but we love EEMH and staying in the park until the wee hours of the morning, the early crowd tires out and moves on (or at least they do other times of the year).

I am hoping the economy works in our favor as well. So far this year, we have been in March (quick weekend), June for the 4/3 deal, and we are going Labor Day Weekend, and hopefully we won't have to cancel our December trip.

I am waiting for my AAA rep to call me back, we are changing to an AP package. Dec 17 thru 22 still at Pop Standard Room paying for the QS dining package and saving $193 by dropping the free dining and 2 one day base tickets that we don't need.

Where in AL are you? And WAR EAGLE!!!!! And :welcome: to the DISboards

Suzanne

We'll be there Dec. 6-13 and thanks to the AP code, we're staying at the AKL. DH and I have been to WDW during the holidays twice before, but I'm THRILLED to be taking my parents for the first time. They've only been to WDW in the summer and I can't wait to show them how wonderful the holiday season is.

Congratulations! Were going Nov. 29th to Dec. 6th. Where are you staying?

Which MVMCP are you attending?

Hi Everyone!

Count us in too for our first time to Disney for the MVMCP Dec.8-13th. We're staying at POP. Hope everyone has a wonderful trip.

Debbie

We just switched our April 2010 visit to Dec 10-15 for our daughter's 5th birthday celebration and got free dining, too.

Yeah us!! I can't wait to go.

We had planned on only going Dec. 4-6 and staying at the All Star Movies - Love Bug section. WELL, Free Dining came along and we had to take advantage of it!! :woohoo:

NOW, we are going Dec. 2-6 and staying at the All Star Music resort (although I'm slightly tempted to switch to POP. However, I like that McDonald's is right there by the All Stars...any help??;))

I am SO EXCITED to see Disney at Christmas!! At first we were only planning on Magic Kingdom (to see the Castle lit up) and EPCOT. Now I get to see the Lights at HS and the characters in Holiday garb at AK! So excited!!!
:yay: :santa:
