Grand Gatherings are for a group of 8 or more ages 3 and up and only for those on-site can participate in the extra events for Grand Gatherings. The phone number for GG is 407-934-7639

The group size and age thing I am 100% sure of because we were booking as a GG last year and didn't meet the requirement because we were a group of 8, but one was 2 so she wasn't counted. The thing about the extra events, I am not sure of, but that is what I was told.

You book dining through the regular dining phone number since you are staying offsite, but you might be able to book online, you just won't have a resort ressie number to link it to. You can't use the Grand Gathering people since you are staying offsite, they are for resort guests only.

Yes, you can call the regualr dining number to book ressies. Disney Dining is 407-939-3463 or 407-WDW-DINE.

We'll be here 12/16-12/20 for DS' 8th bday. DGM and DGP joining us. First timer ever @ aSSP. DS is so excited about the football field.LOL. We've done delux, mod, offsite, value. So thankful in this economy we can still manage it.

Just checked - there are now published codes for room only discounts good for 10/4 through 12/24. It's on the DIS main page. I think it's up to 35% off. If you're not doing free dining check it out. It worked for me!!

I'm so excited about this trip and it's still 4 months away! We get to stay at two new deluxes this time, and all the holiday stuff!?!!? YIKES, I don't think I can handle it.
We have a family trip coming this week - we're driving from MN to VA to visit MIL and SIL, who will be going on the WDW trip with us. Hoping to make a tentative ADR/Park schedule. Yay!

Anyone checking in on/around Nov 28? I *think* my ADR day is August 30, but I wanted to make sure that's right. I know I'm going to have to get up at 5am no matter what day it is , but at least its for a good cause!

Thanks Shawna! It's just too cool! I will be on the boards during vacation some - we're taking the laptop and we just got iphones, so we are totally techy-geeks now. We have no idea what to do with them, so it's a fun learning process.

Good for you...you'll figure it out on the drive!! I am sure I will be up with you!! Aren't we the same day? I sure do hate getting up early!!!! Disney is the only thinkg I get up for....and it's usually to get to the airport! HA!!! But, I can't sleep anyway, so it's not hard to get up. Unless I fall into a dead hard sleep at 4, then have to drag myself awake at 5:30---which is usually the case!!

Well, now we're coming in on the 5th, but it's a separate ressie and I can't make my ADRs for the whole trip from that. I don't know if I'm going to do any ADRs that 1st night we arrive (5th) since it might be later and we'll just want to explore. So if we start "officially" on the 6th, my ADR date is 9/7.

So I updated my ## ticker, but didn't change my slider, because I like that it's half way across already!

We don't make ressies for the first night either...we usually go to DT so we don't use up a whole park day--I get tix for starting the next day in the parks---or we eat at whatever resort rest. sounds good and isn't packed!! Last year we went to T-Rex the first night, it was good. Just don't get the room that looks like it's made from ice....the lights are weird and you can't see good.....kinda creepy!! Ha!! But the food is good---the kids loved it!

Yeah, I was toying with the idea of eating at AKL or heading over to another resort, but the timing is so iffy. I may just do counter service and leave it at that since our DDP isn't going to start until the next day. We might go to WL to check out decorations that next day and eat at WCC. Anyone have info on that? It looks like it could be fun.
I've got to scope out the menu/prices. I'm thinking that might be an OOP meal if it's not too pricey since (hopefully) we will have ADRs for our 4 TS meals later.

Hey all!! Hubby and I will be there to celebrate our first anniversary December 3 - 12. This is our first time during the holiday season and we are super excited. My husband took me back when we were first engaged for Halloween, which was a blast! 128 days and counting!!

We changed again - We are now going Dec 8 - 16th staying at POR. Now just waiting for hours to be published and then the waiting for the ADRs. Have already begun to get things organized and have my schedule started.....have my list of musts for dining. Hoping to get everything we want.
