Official Dancing With the Stars: Season 19

I'm glad he's dancing. I'll try and keep up tonight, it's not airing till after midnight here so I'm resorting to other methods :rolleyes1

He danced during intros.

....ratings....

Today's dances: one they have not done before on the show and second dance is an unplugged version of (I think) a song they did before.

I am on the non-tivo tv tonight. Husband claimed the other one for a movie.

Sadie and Mark

And I am confused by this plugged vs unplugged version--same song two different dances. During the same number?

Quickstep to an Arianna Grande song.

Love her dress. Notice better now that dad stopped commentary.:duck:

Cute dance. Wasn't fond of some of the moves though. (Thought they were dorky.) but overall cute.

Len: that was fast. Disappointed (to boos) because he didn't find anything he didn't like (to cheers)

Julianne: breath of fresh air

Bruno: likey

Carrie Ann: clever, thought hold was great and dance very detail oriented. (It did have lots of parts.)

10-from Len, 9 for the others.

I don't think I've ever seen Len give a higher mark than all the other judges before.

Tommy and Peta next.

Her outfit.:crazy2:

I hope they score him legitimately this time.

Jazz to Tainted Love

I think Peta is dancing to his fan base.:faint:
I didn't like it. But with jazz, there is scoring flexibility. So there's that.

Julianne: yes you are a wild card and that was wild. Great entertainment.
Bruno: lucky man--Peta the human defribrilator
Carrie Ann: nothing but respect. Peta made Tommy the MVP this season.
Len: flattery towards Tommy. Says he couldn't have done what Tommy did this season. (I really couldn't either.)

7s all around.

Yay Keo--he doesn't need Artem! Shoo!

Okay--back to stars...

Bethany and Derek

Derek apparently has no ideas this week.

For some reason, their package made me think of Patrick Swayze and Baby

Samba to Jackson 5

Cute routine. I really liked it.
Bruno: you little tease, you. Says it was risky to take a Brazilian dance and placed it in Central Park--but well done.
Carrie Ann: strong samba-not best vehicle (Central Park theming)
Len: a bit like cotton candy--light and fluffy, bits of sticky
Julianne: (I am distracted by her breast exposure while critiquing her brother. Leave a little to the imagination.)

9s all around

Derek's choreography seemed very light on content. 10 seconds of sitting on the bench. Then Bethany would stand in place a lot, just swiveling her hips or shifting her weight from one foot back to the other. I expected something more complicated from Derek for the semi-finals.

Janelle and Val, Paso Doble

(Please don't make it awful. Please don't make it awful. Please don't make it awful.)

Hmm--wasn't liking the song, but that was a pretty awesome Paso!

Carrie Ann: wanted more. Dramatic. Dynamic.
Len: just enough of everything to keep him satisfied.
Julianne: they were one. In it to win it.
Bruno: Fierce, bold, powerful

10s all around.

Alfonso and Witney (she's sparkly)

Argentine Tango--had been doing lifts with upper body and back locked up, left side. Instructions were to take day off. (Sounds to me like serious, but not so serious that it was more than a one day restriction.)

Good dance. He seems to be dancing cautious though.

He's doing the "it's hurting" smile.

Len: pain is temporary, glory lasts forever.
Julianne: you're a fighter. Says they couldn't tell he wasn't fighting. Noticable that he is in pain.

Bruno: nothing to cry about--couldn't be seen (as far as skill).

Carrie Ann: we talk about technique all the time because people get hurt. But his posture was great tonight because he didn't want to hurt himself.

9s all around.

Unplugged songs Will be same songs acoustically to different dance styles.

Alfonzo was not faking or over-dramatizing a back injury. You can tell by the way Witney hardly put any of her weight up against him. No leaning against him, except once. And the faux "lift" they did was her jumping straight up into the air, rather than landing against him or being lifted by Alfonzo.
