Official Dancing With the Stars: Season 18

I did notice Evan who looked miserable for most of the show. Tara Lipinski was sitting next to him as well. I thought it was funny that Evan was there since I think he used to date Charlie's current girlfriend. Awkward. :rotfl:

Wait. What? Evan is straight?

Anyone else NOT looking forward to seeing that woman from Dance Moms as a guest judge?

Why?

Give me a break.

I don't like having a guest judge every week to begin with, and the fact that it's Abby Lee Miller makes it even worse.

On the up side I suppose she might actually provide a little constructive criticism having to do with dance/performance.

On the huge down side I feel having her on a mainstream show like DWTS may serve to legitimize her.

It will be interesting to see how she scores Amy & Candace since both Derek & Mark have publicly blasted her teaching methods. I can see her being the kind of person who holds a grudge and isn't above letting it impact their scores.

This. As a Pittsburgher I find it embarrassing that she is out there representing our little corner of the world. We are not all like her!

As much as I hate the fact that Abby Lee Miller is going to be a guest judge, I do wonder how badly she will actually behave.

If you watch her show (which, sadly, I have), you know that she is a classic bully. She basically picks on children and people she feels she has an advantage over. So, she is rude to the dance moms and always uses the excuse that SHE is the dance teacher, SHE has trained kids to be stars, SHE knows what she is talking about, they need to listen to her. But she is coaching and critiquing little kids who truly only have the training they've received from her or another local dance studio. She is always nice as pie to the judges.

On DWTS, though the celebs are untrained dancers (in theory), the pros are just that, pros. They have FAR more training than she does and many of them are champion dancers. I know she is a witch on her show, but I sort of think that she doesn't have the nerve to call out exceptional professionally trained dancers in her usual rude and condescending style. Do I think she'll be tough and picky? Yes. But do I think she will be a bully like she is on her show? No. I don't think she has the guts. Bullies never do.

Plus, could you imagine the response if she tried telling Derek, an Emmy winning choreographer that she knows better than he does? Or Mark, who has won a gold medal in the Junior Olympics and is the child of two ballroom dance champions? Or Maks, Val or Peta, all of whom were highly ranked competitive dancers? Although, I suppose none of that ever stops Carrie Ann from her useless drivel. :lmao:

I think she was be all nice as pie and flirty and even say little to nothing controversial.. She is in a situation where she needs to do some damage control (she is being sued by one of the Dance Moms that has been kicked off the show after a physical confrontation happened between them) and she is about to launch a new show so I think she will play the game...

To me, Meryl and Maks are far and away the best this season, it's not even close. Every week they look so amazing and in sync with each other. I just love watching them dance.

Did anyone notice in one of the shots of Tom talking, in the background was Juan Pablo and the girl he chose?? I definitely saw him but the show made no mention that he was there to my knowledge!
....OMG...I saw that too!

So this week we get Abby Lee Miller as guest judge and the "dance duel" which actually seems more like a dance duo than an actual duel, but who knows.

At any rate, everyone has their individual dances and then we get 3 groups of 2 couples. Candace and Charlie are paired together, James and Amy and Danica and Meryl. The interview I saw with the celebs made it sound like each dance will get one score that will count for each couple but that doesn't really sound like a duel.

I will be watching on a delay tonight. My predictions: Abby Lee Miller will not be all that nasty and either Danica or Charlie will go home (shocking!). Of course, my predictions have not been great this season so take that with a grain of salt. :lmao:

This friggin Dance Mom judge is already a trainwreck. :sad2:

Tom already had to tell her they don't have time for her, that the show is only 2 hours.

And Bruno already told her to SHUT UP. :headache: :badpc:

And when it came time to hold up her paddle and show her score, she wasted time.

I can't believe ABC would invite a teacher who teaches through insults and meanness. Everything this show is NOT about.

Ha, since my prediction about Abby Lee has already been proven incorrect, looks like Charlie and Danica can take a sigh of relief. Guess I should not go into the forecasting business. LOL

Mak's just ticked Abby Miller off by saying he didn't care what she said. Then she gave them an 8! She seems way too full of herself.

Maks was very rude to Abby Lee saying he didn't care what she to say. She is there to judge Meryl. I think she is a beautiful dancer, but I don't know what having sickled feet means. Ably Lee didn't criticize Mak's choreography.
