Official Dancing With the Stars: Season 18

Going Home:

Diana Nyad & Henry

Sean Avery & Karina

Can someone please tell that plastic Cody kid that he looks ridiculous in those diaper trousers? They have no business being worn in public, let alone in the ballroom.

Week two and already the judges are ticking me off. I don't know why Len was telling Charlie he broke the rules, Sharna did the choreography. For some reason they seem to be nit picking Maks & Meryl, I think she's been scored too low both weeks. Carrie Ann really ticked off Tony tonight, saying NeNe needed bigger arms, Tony said not in this dance. Then Bruno goes there was a mistake, but Tony didn't say anything about the mistake just Carrie Ann's comments.

Billy Dee really needs to go home, I'm a big Star Wars fan but I sure couldn't vote for him. I figured Diana would go but was surprised that Sean also got sent home. Maybe hockey fans don't watch DWTS.

I think Candace is confusing dancing with real life. She's an actress, she's not making love to Mark, she's just dancing with him. I don't have a problem with the "modest" outfits, don't know why she gets to tell Mark not to take off his shirt, but she can't change the theme of the dances. I wonder if her saying she's a Christian, therefore I'm modest & save certain things for my husband is offending the other dancers? She's surely not the only Christian on the show.

Is anyone going to vote for a partner switch? Maks finally has a great partner, I'd hate to see him lose her. About the only switch I'd make would be Cheryl & Sharna but I don't even know that I'd vote for that.

I can't believe Billy Dee lives to dance another week. I'd much rather have another week of Diana.

Also, can someone throw a glass of cold water at Carrie Ann. Her drooling over James was ridiculous. Entirely predictable for her but still ridiculous.

Tony seemed bit Maks-like tonight responding to the judges comments. You tell em, Tony!

I wanted to tell him to pull up his pants! I thought he might go home but I guess the young girls like him.

I had no problem with the two who were eliminated. I like Billy Dee Williams. No, he's not good, but I enjoyed watching him more than the swimmer or the hockey player. Truth be told, I would have been fine with Charlie and Meryl going home, though. I just really don't care for them being on the show. I have thought that there were ringers in the past, but they take the cake. Nothing against the two of them, but I don't see how people like Danica and Candace are supposed to have a shot when there are two people who are clearly much more trained in dance.

Anyway, other comments on the show:

Cody looks like a complete idiot with that ridiculous hair and sagging his pants during the tango. I was hoping Len was going to go off on him for that, but no such luck.

Felt really sorry for Billy when he said that he looks in the mirror and all he sees is an old man doing a poor job of trying to tango.:sad1: I see a regal man stepping outside of his comfort zone to challenge himself in a way he never has before.

I don't like Cheryl's hair short. And what was going on with Peta's hair? It looked like the bottom half was shaved or something. Was it just pinned that way?

I have no idea what Carrie Anne was talking about regarding Nene having bigger arms. It's a Jive. They aren't supposed to be extended. I'm glad Tony pointed out that she was flat out wrong.

I understand where Candace was coming from with the Rumba and I know it would be the hardest dance for me to be in character on. There are just certain things I wouldn't be comfortable doing with a man other than my husband and some of the Rumba moves fall into that category. I guess we all just have our own comfort zones.

How is it possible that Danica hasn't aged since the last episode of The Wonder Years? Candace looks great, don't get me wrong, but she has clearly grown up since the last episode of Full House. Danica looks like time stood still and she is still that 18 year old girl. She looks adorable and I love seeing her enthusiasm. Hated seeing her so stressed and sad.

And I guess we found the star that Carrie Anne will be drooling over this season. She has to have one each season and this season it appears it will be James. Not saying he isn't a good dancer or anything, but it does get annoying when she always seems to score her little heartthrob higher than he seems to deserve. I hope that doesn't happen this year.

I would really like to see some couple changes, since it is just for the one week. I would love Tony and Candace team up. I also would like to see Danica with Derek for a week. I'd be interested in seeing what Maks could come up with for Amy, but I also think it would be interesting to see his personality and Nene's come together. I think Cheryl would be great with Billy Dee Williams and would love to see what Emma could come up with with a partner like Charlie. Also, anything to get Peta and James apart is fine with me since I am still annoyed at the pseudo drama between them from going on one whole date over a year ago.

Haven't watched tonight's episode yet but I will not miss Karina…at all! She thinks she is such a great choreographer but I"m not that impressed. Excited that my favorite pros, Witney and Sharna, made it through!!

I miss Tristan. I think he was a lot better choreographer/teacher than was shown on his 2 DWTS seasons. His celebrity partners weren't the greatest, which didn't allow him to showcase his talent.

Last season with Valerie Harper I thought it was lovely how he made sure she got the spotlight after their dances.

He won't go home for a VERY long time. It's a good thing I like him :). As for his pants, a lot of the dancers (both pro and star) wore those type of pants in practice last year and I think that Mark even wore a pair in competition. I thought that they looked a little restrictive but were otherwise in line with his persona. I thought it was nice the way they incorporated his style into the tango.

I knew that Diana was going home last night. She just doesn't have the fan base. I enjoyed watching her enjoy dancing and would have liked to see her stay one more week. I actually liked Sean and was bummed to see him go home last night. He seemed to be trying really hard and was improving. I hope that Billy Dee goes home before the "switch".

Speaking of the switch, I wonder what will happen if a contestant is eliminated under the care of another pro. Does the original pro get eliminated with his/her star or does replacement pro responsible for the dance get eliminated?

I'm a hockey fan, but not a Sean Avery fan. That said, I thought he was better this week than last, and it might have been interesting to see him improve more.

I had a feeling Diana would go home, as she just doesn't have the fan base. Billy Dee does have the fan base, but I don't think he really wants to be there...

I like Billy Dee Williams, but I wanted him to go. He seems to be in pain. At his age with two hip replacements how could he not be?

I like Danica and Amy the best and hope they go far.

Not crazy about the partner switching, but I guess they have to do something since the ratings have fallen.

I expected Diane to get voted off because I didn't think she had any fan base. But since they sent two home, I wish the second one would have been Billy Dee because I don't expect to see any improvement in his dancing abilities. It would have been more interesting to see how much Sean could have improved - he seemed much more comfortable last night.

James and Peta were on Home and Family on Monday and they talked about the switch. They said it would only be for a week and that no one would go home the week of the switch. My mom told me that she read that the producers told the stars that they will have the option of staying with the new partner, if they want. How terrible is that? What a position to put the star in! "Hey Danica, we know that you danced with Val for a few weeks, but now that you have danced with Tony, who do you want to have as your partner for the rest of the season?" Just an awkward and unnecessary position to put them in, I think.

But what happens if two stars both want Val? That doesn't make any sense. What a bunch of fake drama.

Speaking of fake drama, I was annoyed that they have set up a direct competition between Danica and Candace and Cody and James. Candace said something like "Danica got better scores than me last week so I need to do better." and James said the same kind of thing about Cody. I would prefer less trash talk or direct comparison and have them concentrate on themselves. There is no rule that says there can only be one teen girl heartthrob or over-the-hill actress from the 80's on the show in the final 4 and they are really competing against everyone and not just the other one in their star niche.
