Official Dancing With the Stars: Season 18

So guys who watch sports like her because she's a statuesque blonde. Not sure how that translates to dwts. Guys are not the target audience for this show. The guys in my house scramble as fast as they can when I turn it on. I find her truly horrible to listen to.
Does "statuesque" = "tall and scrawny"? That woman is seriously tall, thin and awkward ... that was my main problem with her when she danced with M-M-Maks. I didn't think she was a particularly good dancer.

If I had to hear "In your package you said ..." one more time last night I was going to scream. I think she'll settle into her new role in a couple of weeks. FWIW, I'm not a huge Erin fan but I like her better than Pam Oliver on NFL FOX Sunday and Brooke on DWTS.

... I find her truly horrible to listen to.

....I'm guessing that you are talking about the new co-hoet, Erin. I can't put my finger on it, but I can't stand the way she talks either! I HATE the way she pronounces the word 'probiotic'....:confused3

I'm torn. Brooke was dull as a rock, but this new one is so shrill. I had to mute it every time she talked. That voice. Unbearable.

Partly why it was amusing that so many here were happy that she was replacing Brooke. So now maybe Brooke wasn't so bad after all. There is only a very short time to ask any questions, very short. Even the most seasoned interviewer would have trouble with this job.

I just finished watching, and am excited for this season. Things that stand out for me:

* So happy the Skybox is back. Really hated the "Glitter Pit" last season
* Not sure about the change with Erin/Brooke. I did read that she was rather nervous, and I think that came through. I also felt that she needs to soften her approach a little. I can definitely tell that she is a sports caster, and her style is perfect for that. I think/hope that as the season goes on she will get more comfortable in her new role
* Happy to see Maks back, and I think Meryl is a perfect partner for him. Excited to see what those two can do
* Billy D William's...why! For a man of his maturity and two bad hips, he actually did quite well. However, why would he put himself in a position where he is going in with such huge disadvantages. He does deserve to go first, but worry that fans my keep him out of nostalgia and send a better dancer home.
* I kind of love Nene's personality, which is strange for me as that type usually annoy me. She is bigger then life, but her dancing is just okay. I wanted her to be better.
* I loved watching both Danica and Cameron. Watched them growing up, and still love them. I love that they both represent women who are not typical in Hollywood. Smart, modest and have high standards. I would vote for them for that alone, but they were both good to watch. It will be fun to see how they improve each week.
* I also didn't care for the Hockey player. He came across as arrogant in his interview.
* Anyone else find the first meeting between Whitney and Cody awkward? More so then Peta and he partner in my opinion. And they had plenty to be awkward about there. I also was not that impressed with Whitney's choreography. Hopefully it had more to do with a new dancer then her skill.
* Loved Diana's attitude and humor. I really hope she gets to stick around for a little while, but worry that she will be gone in the fort three.

Looking forward to next week!

I am also excited for the return of the skybox. I don't know why I hated the Glitter Pit so much but I really did. I think it made the whole show feel like a dress rehearsal with everyone crammed next to the judges table.

I agree that Whitney and Cody were awkward and I didn't understand their whole "do you have a girlfriend?" conversation that just kept going. Is his girlfriend fake and they are trying to set us up for some dramatic story where he falls in love with Whitney? It was just odd.

I love how she talks about learning how to do the fox trot. She looks a LOT less "matron-y" in those photos. I hope the dress her nicer next week for the cha cha.

....me too...:crazy2:

Not very happy with some of the scoring this evening...
