I agree... it's the fans that keep the stars around.
However, I'm a viewer, & I like to see the better dancers stay - who may or may not be the "more popular" stars.
Before this season, I had no clue who James was, while, yes, of course, I knew who Candace was. However, James is the better dancer, &, to me, he & Peta were more entertaining to watch - as were Charlie & Sharna & Danica & Val - than are Candace & Mark.
As a viewer, I would have liked to have seen Candace go home before Charlie, Danica, & James.
Another thing, I don't like it when voters get all crazy & start campaigning & voting for the star just because of their religious beliefs or political stances - like they're trying to "prove" something.
I am a conservative Christian, & I did not vote for Bristol or Candace.
It just seems silly to me - first of all, these voters are supposedly voting because they want to support a fellow Christian who assumedly shares their more conservative beliefs. Okay, I sort of "get" that. But have they seen the show? LOL! Skimpy costumes, suggestive dances, sexual innuendos, Bruno...

I mean, by voting, what are they really supporting? The star or the show?
Instead of using all this energy to get on the bandwagon & vote just because the person is a Christian or a Republican or whatever, use that energy to go make a real difference. It was the same thing w/ Chaz Bono too - people were getting behind him & voting for the cause he represented instead of voting for him as an actual person & dancer.
I understand if a person is voting because they truly are watching the show, like the star, & are enjoying watching the star dance, but to just vote to support the star's cause or religious or political stance seems silly to me.
But, again, I'm shallow, & I like to be entertained while I'm watching DWTS by really good dancing & the chemistry between the pros & their stars.
And, if someone is paired w/ Maks, then I'm all in regardless... except for Hope Solo. I never liked her.
