Official Dancing With the Stars, season 16 thread

Am I the only one who saw how out of step Ingo & Kym were? I thought that was a hot mess. :confused3

Honestly, Ingo's just plain HAWT !!!! He's a great showman too.:cool1: But..probably the weakest dancer left:dancer:

Oh, but it's completely different from ballroom. ;) At least that's what all of the trained dancers say.

And yet, not a single person who has undergone professional dance training (Sabrina, Nicole Scherzingewhatever, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, etc.) has ever done poorly on the show. Things that make you go "hmmm...";)

Didn't mark choreograph that same dance with a previous contestant. It looked familiar to me.

Still, that was a fun and energetic dance.

I didn't like the costumes, but I loved the choreography and how she went for it.

Yes, it looks very similar. What amazed me was that he stuck a SHIMMY even into the afro-jazz.

That was so strenuous though. Thank goodness Aly is an Olympic athlete. I don't think anyone else would have lasted throughout that whole dance. I'm exhausted just watching it. :faint:

Me too. I breathed a huge sigh when it was finally over ... for her. I could tell she was running out of steam towards the end.

Hahaha! I know! Shades of Bristol. I just commented to DH how Aly was similar to Bristol at the beginning but has opened herself up to emoting these last episodes....thank goodness.

Just finished the episode. Zendaya, Kellie, and Allie definitely have the advantage of having to learn routines in their other lives. You can tell that they are used to making their bodies perform precise movements to specific rhythms.

And as much as I like Zendaya, she had an unfair advantage in her second dance tonight. That is the type of routine she does regularly on Shake It Up. No, it's not professional "So You Think You Can Dance" or Broadway caliber, but it is darn close.

The ballroom dancers say that ballroom dancing is very different than other types, and they are right. BUT a good dancer can learn to dance any style (which is why the ballroom pros can do all of the new types of dance they are throwing in this season).

Anyone else thing that dance with Jacoby & Karina was too dark to see clearly? I don't have HD TV. The walls were black. So was the floor and their costume. I found it hard to see any of their steps. :magnify:

It was hard to see but those white wingtips really highlighted how pigeon toed Jacoby is, didn't think it deserved 10's. I do think his Lindy Hop was very good, he is suited for that dance because his feet didn't have to be together! ;)

I thought Val & Zendaya's dance was sooo frantic - that was awful.

I agree and they picked the wrong night to be so off, it's what happens sometimes when the dancers tried to be too cute with a theme. They redeemed themselves with the hip hop.

mmm, yeah. Derrick did most of the heavy lifting on that dance and I'm left wanting, darn it! She did such a fantastic job on their first dance. Kelly was only half there on the Flamenco. Ugh, the grandmother on "Strictly Ballroom" was more present than Kelly.

The Flamenco is a man's dance, the woman's job is to present him. I don't remember who did it last year but this one was way better.

I think Ingo's going home tomorrow.

I think you are right. I'm not a huge Jacoby fan but he is the better dancer. I'm wondering how they are going to change the format to accomodate 4 couples in the finals. Will they all get to do a freestyle?

Agreed. I can just imagine how people would have responded if Aly and Mark had to do a gymnastics routine instead of Afrojazz. Zendaya has had the advantage from the beginning and then they gift wrapped her trip to the finals by giving her hip hop.

Are you saying that wasn't a gymnastics routine?

....was it me, or were the '10's flyin' outta there like hotcakes?
