Official Dancing with the Stars - All Stars

What a bummer :(. I thought that Joey got a really rotten song to dance to which did not help at all.

ETA: I am not shocked that Bristol is still around. She has a HUGE fan base which keeps her in the competition. It will be interesting how they do the double elimination next week.

Maybe she'll be elminated twice? Dare we dream?:rotfl:

Yes, I think the producers screwed up here. Many better dancers will be booted of while Bristol stays on. I'll be very surprised if she is in the double elimination next week and gets the boot.
Like I said before, I don't think she's going to go until the end of the season or if they have a dance-off. If they have a dance off and she's in the bottom 2 the judges will have to vote her off because she will probably be the worst of the two.

I didn't pay attention ... were the "bottom 3" really the ones with the worst scores? Or were they in "jeopardy" meaning they were selected by the producers to appear to be in the bottom 3?

:furious::furious::sad::sad:I'm sad to see Joey go. He was my favorite. Maybe not the best dancer but he was certainly one of the most entertaining.

I don't know. I was watching House, M.D. until Tom announced the Bottom Two. I did hear Tom say the Bottom Two were the bottom two. He usually says when they are the LAST two, and not necessarily both the bottom two. I try to post that difference. But, I didn't catch what was going on with Kelly. Just that she was in jeopardy. I don't think he ever says whether the third couple is at the bottom, only that they are in jeopardy. :scratchin

Seriously? I was only able to watch the first hour but came on here and saws that Joey was eliminated and my heart completely dropped. I was really hoping he'd make it to second again. What a shame that someone who was always fun to watch and listen to is gone so early. What a waste... :sad2:

People are vote for Bristol to be cruel, not because they are fans. America lives a train wreck!

Joey Fatone gone.. wrong.. wrong.. sooo freaking wrong.

Joey Fatone can dance.. and dance well... He will be sorely missed.

please explain to me who exactly is in the Bristol Palin fan base? really I would like to know.. not trying to be nasty.. I just do not get it.

.

I can't believe Joey went home.

I was reading on the ABC boards that her mother posted on her facebook page that you can vote your 12 times then sign off, go and sign back on and vote again. Yes, she is encouraging her followers to cheat.

So I guess all of us will have to follow suit and go cheat as well.
Maybe we can get her off the show, by following her mothers example.

Our household really enjoys seeing Bristol dance, and we were afraid she'd be booted this week. Shucks, we figured she'd be booted the 1st week! (We thought the same the other season she was on this show, though, and we were pleasantly surprised that she lasted as long as she did.)

Since Bristol's not among the better dancers, we figure the only way we'll be able to continue getting to see her is to give her all our votes (and we haven't even always bothered to vote), and so we did and do (the times when we've voted). It is our understanding that the show is not based solely on dance ability/performance merit, but also on "popularity," and thus we vote for who we most want to watch dance -- and that's Bristol & Mark!

We don't like watching Bristol because we think it's like watching a "train wreck" or anything like that. Good grief. Perhaps some folks do actually think of Bristol that way, I dunno, but definitely not us!

I can only speak for myself, but perhaps I simply identify with her and her life more than the other "stars." I think the only other "star" on the show I even knew of was Kirstie Alley, and only because I've seen her in a movie or two many years ago. That's not much reason for me to care about watching Kirstie dance anymore than anyone else. (Oh, wait -- I take that back. I do recall having a very minor awareness of the Apollo guy some years ago. I think he was - is? - an Olympic ice skater of some sort.)

The only time I've ever watched this show was when Bristol was on in a previous season. I knew of her for the same reason(s) "everyone" did, but I don't think we're allowed to speak of religion and politics and abortion on this board anymore. I found I liked watching the dancing/dancers that season, but soon discovered I didn't really care for the show overall. I didn't watch any subsequent seasons, but when I heard Bristol was coming back, I decided to "tune in" again because I found her appealing the previous go around, and thought it would be interesting to see how she'd do this time with a little more dancing/performance experience and a few more years of life under her belt.

I have no illusions of Bristol having any chance of winning, but I do hope she'll remain in the game for a few more dances. If not, oh-well. My interest will cease, but no doubt others' interest will increase: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." This one happens to think Bristol's a treasure!:)

Ummmm......
This is a Dance contest, not a popularity contest.

I'm sure Bristol is a great girl, I have nothing against her. She just can't dance.

I can't say what I want because of board rules. And you really don't know anyone else except the two you say you know vaguely? What a sheltered life.

Anyway, I guess my protest of not watching goes on. I can't believe Joey was sent home. Something is not right.

We like Bristol as well. This board is the only place that I have seen that people dislikes her so much. To me she improves every week. I think a lot of Bristol dislike has nothing to do with Bristol, more like what her mom does for a living.

No, this is about the fact that Bristol is a bad dancer in a competition dance show. This is also the All Stars, people brought back because they were the best so we should expect to see top notch dancing right from the very beginning. The fact she was asked back is the big joke.

Its a TV show, of course its a popularity contest. If it wasn't ,they would only have dance experts judging. The minute you open it up to millions viewing, its a popularity contest. I mean really, 300 million people in the US are dance experts qualified to judge? Of course not. These are entertainment shows, not skill contests...

Actually.... and I don't mean to be argumentative.... but this show IS 50% dancing and 50% popularity.

Like it or not, that's the way the show was designed. I personally wish it were not that way. I personally wish viewers were not allowed to vote at all. It should be entirely up to the judges to score on skill & ability & performance. But sadly that is not the way DWTS is set up. One of the things about the show that greatly IRKS me. I can't stand it when a great dancer gets sent home solely bc they didn't get enough popularity votes.

But it is what it is. The show IS based not only on dancing ability, but popularity as well.

My opinion of Bristol has nothing to do with politics. Bristol is just a shining example of the new celebrity. No longer do we applaud talent. People now gain fame by making a sex tape, or having an affair, being a teen mom, being a drunk, or acting low class. Gone are the days when singers could actually sing. Actors were performers who could do anything...dance, sing, and act.

I do know that Bristol does have some fans, but I do believe some people vote because they think it makes good television.

It's now the time of SnookieLindsayKimHoney****oo. We all created that monster!

That's why there should be a dance off every week, so the judges can make the final decision and then it would be a bit more fair.

Exactly! Which is why I find it hilarious (and yet also stunning) the type of people who like Bristol. I'm sure these other "celebs" are beneath them, but Bristol, hey she's swell. :rotfl2:
