Official Code Watch for August 2007

Just remember, it wasn't until April 1 of last year that free dining was offered and that was just to Disney Visa owners. Free dining was offered to the general public April 4th. We still have time to hope...

My husband and I always go at the end of August. The code usually comes out mid-April. It's a great time to go if you can stand the heat and the daily thunderstorms. Oh, and don't forget the hurricanes! We were there for Charley, but had a wonderful time anyway.

<<Oh, and don't forget the hurricanes!>>

No kidding! My wife and I were there during Katrina and had a great time! We're taking the kids this August, they want to experience the "heat and thunderstorms" at WDW...strange kids! LOL!

I love going in August (yes it's hot, but I live in New England and pay much more to ski in the freezing cold, so I enjoy the warmth at WDW). We had free dining last summer. The trick was to get ADR's in advance. We also had more luck calling for ADR's than stopping by the restaurant in person. We were able to change many ADR's while we were there by call the night before if our plans changed. I too am on the look out for free dining, but would rather have the Fairy Tale vacation...remember that one (buy 4 days get 3 free!)

Truth be told? I don't care what they offer. I am coming to the "world" no matter what. I have been waiting too long for this vacation.

Boy, those were the good old days....... I remember that year - 2002 I think, that was the first year we (my family of 3) went to Orlando. We stayed offsite and only visited Universal Parks. The next year, it was Buy 5 stay 7 - thats the year I found this message boards. We stayed offsite again in a Timeshare - staying onsite wasn't even a thought. It wouldn't be until 2004 before I would stay 2 nights onsite (at Pop Century) we used a room only rate $79 a night in early August - we stayed another week in a really nice house in Wyndham Palms. I have been itching to get back onsite since!!! Well, this is the year - a whole week - it would be a magical welcome to buy 4 and 3 days FREE!!!!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I think we're going to get something completely different. I just hope it's really good! (BTW my first trip ever was the 7 for 4 deal, *sigh* DH still complains about them taking away the Ultimate Park Hopper)

7 for 4 sounds fantastic especially as we are going for 14 nights, lets hope they bring out something really good :teeth:

Ok, I am fairly new to WDW, what was the "Ultimate Park Hopper"?

Okay, back in 2003-2004 if you stayed on site you had the option of purchasing the way overpriced Ultimate Park Hopper. You had to purchase it for the length of your trip and you could park hop as much as you wanted and visit the water parks, DQ and PI as much as you wanted. It was only affordable to use since we were paying for 4 days of it and getting 7.

DH is a huge Adventurer's Club fan (photo in my siggy; its a bar in PI), so he always says he wants to go there every night, even though the show is the same every night. :rolleyes2

The MYW tickets they have now are much better IMO.

4 for 7 wouldn't be that great of a deal anymore since the ticket change. You would get the 3 nights free but the 3 free days on the ticket will be worth almost nothing. Then if you are booking two trips for a total of 14 days you have to buy 2-4 day tickets per person which might not be worth it to do. I guess everyone would have to do the math themselves depending on where they are staying and how many people.
