Official Code Watch for August 2007

I booked our airfare the other night ($49/pp) Airtran so we HAVE to go to Disney in August :cool1: and I cannot wait. I am praying for some sort of deal, but at this time we are staying at Pop (will be booked through AAA) and if free dining comes out, we'll go for that. But in the meantime, AAA is saving me $150 over the disney site for 5 nights at pop and 6 day passes (didn't do hopper yet) for three adults and one 16 yo.

I am so excited, loading my countdown clock on all the computers.

Will keep looking here for a better discount though.

Can I ask where you're flying out of with a great airfare like that ???

We live just about 20 minutes from the philadelphia airport. Makes it great for traveling. I actually saw that someone booked their airtran for $49 and jumped on it. Couldn't believe we were able to get it. All the southwest $99 flights are gone right away. And we are flying non stop. We like to arrive early in the am at disney so we pretty much have the first day there, then leave late in the day to go home.

Did they offer free dining last August? We haven't been in a few years and were hoping for a code but free dining would be great! My husband wants to go for 10 nights and we want to stay at WL but without a code or free dining, you may end up splitting between 2 resorts.

I'm happy to be back on the DIS boards and joining the August 2007 code watch!

Going back August 19th - 29th!

When I booked our ressie in January...flights from WA state were $390.00. Today they are almost $600.00 for August. I still have yet to reserve and I also have no code or discount. Sure wish Disney would feel sorry for me and find a code. lol. I can only hope for the free dining or something that will off set the cost of the plane fare. Time will tell!

You may want to try booking through Airtran, too. It flies out of Seattle and only has 1 stopover. But, the good news is that 4 adults could fly round trip for less than $1,300 including all fees/taxes, everything. I don't know the ages you are looking at or the number of people going, but it looks much cheaper.

Don't know if that will help or not, but it may be worth looking into.

Have a great trip!

Hey PJStevens,

I too live close to the Philadelphia Airport but was only to get one way tix to Orlando with the $49.00 rate. I have been waiting to see if the return trip drops from the current amount of $99.00 but am afraid if I wait too long the price will just go up or the time I want won't be available. I am also waiting to see if Southwest offers a $59.00 rate but they are only booking through 8/24 right now :sad2: I don't know if I should book now or wait it out? Any suggestions are welcome!! Thanks.

We found that it was only about $20 more per ticket to add them to our package that we have booked than it was to buy them on our own and this way they become part of the package, so the insurance covers them and we can pay for them a little bit at a time with the package.

That won't work for me b/c I don't have a package this time around. I am staying with my friend and we are doing the beach and Universal (free tix) and then I'm staying @ The Dolphin with the great summer rate they offered for a few days so I'm booking this totally on my own.

I'm with you mkross. It is so frustrating to fly to Orlando from Seattle because of the price. For years I see people on the DIS talk about these great airline prices for their trips and I just want to cry, but since 9/11 I have not been able to get a flight for less than $300 to Orlando. Granted I am flying during the summer, but I try to fly on a weekday instead of the weekend, but it is still hard.

Julie,

I never 'find' anyone close to me on all these boards, hi neighbor. I know what you mean about waiting though. Afraid if you wait, they will just go up and up. I changed our days to fly out monday instead of sunday and found $49 rate. we are returning on a saturday night and taking the last non stop flight home, since we want as much time for our money at disney. Hope you find a flight at a good price.

What is official? The fact that you booked your trip, or did you get free dining or some other discount? This is the "code watch" thread.

that they are officially going on their vacation in August and that now she will be watching for a code for that time period. No codes yet..at least that I know of....and I'm watching like a hawk!!:magnify:

I did not know of Airtran....even though I wanted non-stop I could go this route. It's going to be a long day...2 1/2 hours to airport, 2 hours at airport, 7 hour flight, to Disney......whew! I will wait and see if any specials come out and keep watching and waiting. Codes anyone....a little pixie dust over here please! lol.

Sorry about the mix up!! :confused3 Yes, we booked our trip. :goodvibes Yes, I'm excitied. :goodvibes No, we haven't gotten a discount.:sad2:

If free dining does comes out will it need a code. Also, is this board the best place to find out the info. I can't wait to find out what is going to happen for August.:yay:
