Hi everyone!! :grouphug:

We're taking a trip to disney this december, a late anniversary trip and I would love to get a cake made that looks the same as the top layer of our disney wedding cake that was made by the GF bakery.

Can the cakes only be delivered during a meal? Or can you pick it up from somewhere or have it delivered to your hotel room?

Hi! You can have a cake delivered to your hotel room by calling Private Dining at your resort, or you can pick one up from BoardWalk Bakery (but would need to order it a few days ahead).

Has anyone walked up to the boardwalk and ordered a cake for pick up 2 days later? We were thinking of doing this in Oct? We just really want a small cake like the 2 tier cake but have some pizaz too it. Like Orange and black and 3 chocolate covered strawberries on it .

With Food & Wine Festival going on in EPCOT at that time - I would call ahead - since we all have seen WDW has had cutbacks and I personally would want to give them enough time. I usually order my cakes 2-3 weeks in advance just my opinion.

I ordered 2 cakes for our recent trip last week. I started with the cake hotline then was transferred to the person for the Grand Floridian Restaurants. I had to leave a voicemail and she called me back the next day. I can't remember her name and have since lost the paper I wrote it on!

The first was a mini tiered wedding cake for our Anniversary at Narcoossee's on 8/19/09. The cost was $30 added to our dinner bill. I ordered yellow cake with chocolate mousse filling and asked for it in lavender as these were the colors of our flowers. I believe she said any decorations other than standard started at $50.

The second cake was a mini cake for my daughter's 4th Birthday at 1900 Park Fare. I ordered the same cake and filling and asked for pink. The white chocolate castle was hollow. The cost was also $30 and added to the bill.

The cakes were good and served their purpose. It was better than a Sara Lee cake as far as looks and it definitely was fresh. Would I do this again? I'm not sure...

Hi honey  Thankyou so much for your help! I can't wait to suprise DH with this

The mini cakes do seem to be very expensive for the amount you get....especially in comparison to an 8 inch, which is just tad over double the price (without special toppers) and would serve eight people. They are so darling though, and make a wonderful surprise treat.

I agree. The fabulous Haunted Mansion cake is $65. That does make the mini cakes seem expensive. They are so pretty though.

I have a question about the mini wedding cakes. Do they only do these at GF restaurants?? Any other places you can order them for like MK or Epcot restaurants?? I really want to order one for our 10th Anniversary in December. Or I might even order one of those Anniversary cakes if it has to be at GF. Thanks :goodvibes

Can a cake be delivered to Fort Wilderness campground? If not there...what about Whisperin Canyon?

Trying to see what I can arrange :)

When I ordered out cake, Pat at the GF told me that I should ask for it when we check in for our dinner. She suggested using the cake as a "centerpiece" at our table so that we could take the time to enjoy it instead of just bringing it out at the end and cutting it up right away.

I second this. I spent 180.00 on a cake about 4 years ago at Ohana and I had to keep asking for the cake at the end of the meal, which kind of ruins the "surprise" element... picture me, 'HEY did you forget my cake???"

Truly, I would have really liked to look at and admire my cake throughout the meal.

Of course, my server stank too, so maybe that was an issue as well.

BUT DEFINATELY - ask for your cake to be put on your table right away!

As far as I know only the GF and the Boardwalk Bakery make the mini wedding cakes.

Did you call the cake hotline number?

There is a new "Cake Hotline" for guests who want to request to have a special, personalized cake for various celebrations at most table service dining locations. The Cake Hotline number is 407-827-2253 (their hours are 8 – 4 Monday – Friday), and at least they need to have a 48 hours notice. Guests may also request a 6-inch cake (non-personalized) upon arrival at the podium of restaurant (no advance notice required).
I see a post from my favorite Dreams Unlimited Rep..hey Marla!:thumbsup2

OK, cake chatterers, I've been lurking here for a while, and my trip is finally close enough to start thinking about cake!!! :woohoo:

My mom will be celebrating her 49th birthday while we are in WDW next month. I know she'll love the cake with the custard and strawberry filling, and since the beginning of Cake Boss, she uses the word "fondant" as often as possible.

Where would be the best place to order our cake from and have it delivered (or picked up)? Here are some of our ADRs (the others will just be part of our group eating, and I'd like to have the cake with everyone in our group):

1900 Park Fare Dinner
Whispering Canyon Cafe Lunch
Chef Mickey's Dinner (this is on her actual birthday)
Le Cellier Lunch

Thanks!!

ETA: Oh, duh, and when should I order??

Well I think most will agree when I tell you 1900 Park Fare will be the best place for you to order a cake and have it the way you want it. You can order one from Boardwalk Bakery and pick it up as well. Depending on what you want you can get cakes at most restaurants. We got a Mickey Head cake at Chef Mickeys last year but the more extravagant custom cakes are at the Grand Floridian and if you want fondant this is where you need to go.

I would probably order a week in advance. Some people order 2 weeks out but I would not go too far out as they are busy with cake orders left and right.

My daughters birthday is Sept. 9th and we will be eating dinner at Teppan Edo at Epcot. I have just now decided to order her a personalized cake. I may be too late!!! Is there a website that shows all of the different cakes that are available? She will be turning 11 years old and IS NOT into princesses!!! Ha.. Ha.. She loves Donald and Daisy Duck. We are a party of 6 people so I do not want a huge cake. I would REALLY appreciate any advise. :cool1: THANK YOU!!!:thumbsup2

I've never seen a cake from Teppan Edo. I'm not sure they have them. At any rate, the consensus seems to be that Epcot cake choices in general are definitely lacking in flavor and appearance. You might consider picking up a cake at the Boardwalk Bakery if you must have it at Epcot. Or you could have a cake delivered to your resort.

One thing to note, if you decide on cake at Teppan Edo is that unless you are a party of 8 you will be sharing a table with strangers. ;)

ETA: I'm not saying that nobody has gotten a cake at Epcot they weren't happy with -- they have! What I mean is that, in general, Epcot restaurants, if they offer cakes at all, do not have the variety you can order from some of the resorts, and they are not as fancy.

Thank you for your help... Teppan Edo is not my choice but hers because she LOVES that type of food. I called the cake phone number and hopefully I will figure something out. THANKS AGAIN!!!
