The treasure chest is something that is available because of the Celebration theme going on so it would be available at almost all restaurants.
For the 1900 Park Fare cake you will call the Grand Floridian Bakery directly and they will help you out.

You will need to start by calling Chef Mickeys directly. You will most likely have to leave a message. It may take a couple of days to return your call. Tell them what you want and they will tell you what they can do. Most "custom" cakes at CM's are done with an edible picture on the top of the cake. The most popular cake at CM's is the Mickey Head cake. If you truly want the ideal custom cake I would suggest you go to the Grand Floridian to a restaurant there. But... I have had the Mickey Head cake before and we loved it! Not seen too many custom cakes from CM's except with the picture on it. But they may be able to put a Mickey Mouse Club House pic on it. You won't know until you ask! :yay: Good Luck!

I am getting a custom cake delivered to Chef mickey. I have emailed back and forth with the chef and she acted like it was no big deal, and they do it all the time. Should I be concerned that I am going to be told later that they don't do that?? I ordered one with fondant ect.

I have heard a lot of complaints on here about "custom" cakes at CM's that they are normally just an edible image on the cake and that is it when they expected much more. :confused3 I have not yet seen any other custom cakes on here for CM's but who knows? I would clarify with this person before you got it though.

I think you'll be plesently suprised with the cakes at chef mickeys.....cakemanbri has been doing a fantastic job lately

I hope this worked, if it did it is a picture of my DD birthday cake at 1900 park fare

Price : $51
Date Received : 8/30/09
Location : GF 1900 Park Fare
Cake info : Vanilla cake, pink frosting

I have to give a HUGE shout out to Sally and Jerry at the Contemporary!

They got a new email address today to send pictures to for cake requests, and it was not working for me. I've been off and on the phone with them all day, and they were so incredibly nice and patient (Brian, you have to tell Sally I love her!). :lovestruc

If you're completely phone phobic like me, have no fear when calling to order a cake for any of the Contemporary restaurants. They are INCREDIBLY nice!

My request is a little, um, nutty, but I know they'll steer me in the right direction if need be!

Her email was very specific. 6 inch cake with white fondant, red dots piped on and a red bow, and i have specifically stated I didn't want an edible image. Hopefully that is what I get.

For those of you who have done this before, what is a good timeframe to check back in on things? The cake is for Nov 29th.

Where can I find the email address to contact someone at the Contemporary about a custom cake? I really want to send a small picture of the style of cake I am looking for. Thanks!

You need to call the cake hotline first, and wherever you're looking to order will tell you what you need to know. You need to start the ordering process first, and then they'll give you the email address if they need a picture.

Okay, so I'm seeing a lot of talk about edible images. The Pluto cake I have ordered for my ds's 8th birthday at Chef Mickey's for dinner on 11/11 is suppose to have an edible image of Pluto on it which brought it to $47.00. Are these images not any good? Should I call back and see what else they can do for us? Y'all have me concerned that it's not going to be worth what I'm paying for. I've looked for pictures of Pluto cakes others have gotten and can not locate a single picture so I don't know what options there are. Please advise from those with experience. I've never ordered a cake from Disney before so I guess I didn't know what I was doing.

It realy depends what you want. Also there are two different edibble images, those which are a screen print ( check out the snow white cake) and those which are put onto white chocolate ( check out the stepsisters cake). If your concerned phone them back to clarify. Cakemanbri is making some lovely cakes at the contemp. Also $47 seems a resonable price, if you want something more elaborate you could have to pay more.

I did call back and we talked about doing a handpainted white chocolate Pluto instead, but since Sean can't stand chocolate of any sort, I stayed with the edible image. I did ask since I knew Brian was so great, if maybe he could dude it up some, maybe putting bones around it or something Pluto-y. She said that she would take the add on request down to him so hopefully he have some fantastic idea pop into his head about Pluto and he'll have fun with it.

Thanks for helping me figure it out!

It was a good cake, although it was a little on the sweet side for me. I really wasn't sure what i wanted on it, so when i spoke with Pat, she made some suggestions and it was way better than i expected. I almost cried when i had to cut it!

Oh and by the way everything was edible, the wand was the first to go.

I posted this but can't seem to find it anywhere so I'll try it again:

I went through the various Cake threads but still have a few questions. We are celebrating my son's 4th birthday at Chef Mickey's and I was going to order a cake for his special day! He wanted a Mickey Mouse Club House Cake. I've been reading about different bakeries and who will/won't deliver to certain places.

How do I get a cake ordered for Chef Mickey's and how will I be limited? I'm going to call soon but didn't want to sound like a complete idiot :upsidedow

Just call the cake hotline, follow the prompts for the Contemporary and let them know you want a custom cake. They should then transfer you to Private Dining at the Contemporary. Give whomever answers an idea of what you would like, they may have to call back if they need to confirm anything with the chef. Really easy.

I called for CMs a week or so ago and Sally took down my info, asked a couple of questions then let me know she needed to check one thing with the chef. She called me back 10 min later with the answers and a quote. Simple and Done...will let you know how it comes out after the 16th :)
