I just wanted to add that I ordered my DD's 6th birthday cake from the GF for 1900 PF. I dealt with Pat and she was lovely, very helpful! After reading through some of the older postings on this thread I was shocked how easy it was to order our cake, Pat is very efficient - great!

I just ordered a cake from the GF. I am a little nervous because she didn't ask for a credit card number and I didn't get any sort of confirmation number. All they took was my name and the time of my ADR. Is this normal? Should I be worried that I won't get my cake? Would it be good for me to call back before we arrive to check on this?

I didn't leave a credit card number (as I'm paying that day) and there was no confirmation number. I do plan on calling the week before to reconfirm however.

TWO WEEKS till I hit WDW...THREE WEEKS for cake! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if you can get the White chocolate statues (Mickey, tink, donald) & tuxedo strawberries at Cali grill? or is it just available at the GF?

:)

I believe most deluxe resorts have access to some of the chocolate statues. I would call the CR (in room dining) and ask what they have. I know for sure they have the chocolate monorial. I know that I was able to get the choc mickey statue at the Boardwalk and at the GF (and I know of someone else who got one at the BC) so I can't see why the CR wouldn't have it was well.

Good Luck.

I see all these cakes at CR and GF, can I get one at the Poly for dinner at Ohana? If so, who do I contact? I want to have a cake for my DS 6th birthday.

Yes, you can get a cake at the Poly. You either call the cake hotline or you call the Poly's in-room dining.

Has anyone ordered a celebration cake from Disney Bakery and had it delivered to a meal? I called last night to get information and the girl on the line was SO vague and didn't seem to know much. She stated that for $15 we could get a screen print or character statue but for $30 we could get a themed cake. I asked what the difference was and she said that the themed cake was at the discretion of the bakery. :confused3 I wanted more information but she couldn't answer ANYTHING!

I then mentioned the picture I was looking at and she snapped "we don't have a website"....I said well it's the walt disney world website. She said "I don't know what you are talking about" Now it's fine that she didn't know the exact picture that I was referring to but shouldn't she be able to answer my questions better??? I mean I'm talking about spending $30-$45 for a cake for 3 people! She even tried to talk me out of ordering the special celebration and just going with the "stock" cake that I can get from the hostess. I was shocked. :scared1:

So please anyone that has ordered a cake please please help!!!
Where did you attempt to order the cake?

I'm getting the Tink one with chocolate strawberries added in at The Wave. Since both are at the Contemporary I would think so. They said that there is a lday that sits and hand paints the statues. How cool is that?! I do know the Tink one wouldn't fit on the 6in cake. I had to up it to the 8 in.

Edited to add that it took a lot of calls and asking but I was able to get the strawberry bavarian cream cake also. Oh I can't wait. My dd will be thrilled.

Yes they are availible at California Grill. Place your order through Private Dining at the Contemporary Resort!

Just some questions; after seeing Brian's HM cake, I think I'm in love with the cake idea and need (yes, need) to order one for our trip in December.

1.) What is the smallest cake you can get at CM? And, how many does it feed? My concern is that we'll probably be going to MVMCP afterwards, and I don't know if we'll have time to bring it back to POP; I am assuming they don't deliver the left over cake to another resort?

2.) How far in advance can you order? I want to make sure we have our ADR set, so I'm hoping 90 days out?

3.) Can you request a specific person make your cake, or is it just at random/luck of the draw?

4.) And, finally, does anyone have any holiday cake pictures? I would want to do something Christmas themed. I haven't had time to go through this whole thread, so please forgive me if I missed something. If you can spot one quickly and link me, I'd be eternally grateful. (Really, I need a cake.)

The smallest cake you can order is a 6" but you can not customize it and it serves 2-4. The 8" cake would be the smallest that you can customize. As far as who decorates the cake depends on what day of the week it is. But I usually handle all the custom cakes or a chef would step in if I was off. Guests are already ordering cakes now for November. I hope this helps!

4) Here's one of Disney's sample wedding cakes that has snowflakes - dunno if that's Christmas-y enough for ya...

I just ordered a 6" cake for GF Cafe from GF Bakery. I requested a Mulan theme, she said no problem. We only got a 6" cake b/c there are 3 adults.

DH thinks Im crazy to order a cake, and for the price I hope its custom made.

Ok-So DS-stb8 is in love with Ace of Cakes:happytv:

Has anyone seen or done a Star Wars themed Cake?

His dream is to have a Star Wars cake where he is fighting Darth Vader.:wizard:

CakeManBri, can a version of the HM cake be done in vanilla with buttercream and look that fabulous?? How exactly does one describe a cake like that when trying to order?

We are celebrating our anniversary but will be a family dinner at California Grill next month. I would love the HM theme. So cool!

CakeManBri (or anyone else who may know the answer), if guests are already ordering for November, should I call and order from the GF now for our trip mid-October? I would hate to find out that they are too busy to make my sisters cake. I literally think I might cry if that happened!

Yes you can. We had dinner at Ohana in March 2009 and my daughter had a surprise anniversary cake delivered to our table! She had it made at the GF and they brought it over to Ohana. It was great! :cheer2:

Actually I'm not sure how she ordered it. Can anyone tell us how to order from the GF????

I'm sure it's here somewhere but what is the number for Private Dining at the Contemporary Resort? Thanks! :goodvibes I would like to try to order a custom cake for my son's 20th bday at Chef Mickey's....something over the top!

There is a cake on here (somewhere) with a Jedi Mickey and one with an edible image taken from Star Wars. I believe that there was also a Lego Star Wars edible image on one.

CakeManBri.....

Can you give us a name for the HM cake we're all wanting so that we can just order it by name when we call in? (instead oftrying to describe it...lol)
