I am the cake decorator @ the Contemporary Resort. I do all the cakes for Cal Grill, Wave and Chef Mickey's.

Thanks for answering Brian. We will be there Sept 22nd. I am so looking forward to your design. She will be thrilled. Her name is Aspen and she is 12. Only real request is that it def. says "I TINK everyone has a right to my opinion" even if it is on the plate around it. I've talked to several ladies there. The second one said my request didn't even state that, but she took care of it for me I hope. I'm giving my dd a statue she has been wanting just before dessert that says "I think everyone has the right to my opinion" with Tinkerbelle . My dd and I just play silly and say TINK instead of think. I can't wait to post a pic for everyone (well my dd wil have to cuz I'm clueless....LOL). We are going to get the white chocolate Tink statue and 2 chocolate strawberries on the side.

You do great cakes Brian. I am so excited for her.

The ring is gorgeous! She is sure to love it!!! Hope everything falls into place!!!

I am so glad you were surprised with my design. I look forward to creatingagic for you in the future!

You are going to be creating magic for my almost 8 year old at Chef Mickey's for his birthday. It's a Pluto cake and it's a complete surprise. He doesn't even know we are eating there with Pluto for his birthday dinner. The lady said there would be an edible pluto on it, but I couldn't quite picture it and haven't found any pluto cakes on this site. You don't happen to have a picture of a Pluto cake you've already done, or is my son the only Pluto nut out there? :thumbsup2

I'm thinking Brian is going to be way, way too busy after this thread to ever spend time on the DisBoards again:lmao:

That's what I also thought, a second after I was going to send him a PM & then changed my mind thinking he would get so many requests !

CakeManBri - just have to say how much I loved that Haunted Mansion cake!
You must put in so much effort and I'm sure it's appreciated by everyone who's on the receiving end of one of your designs.
We don't have a trip planned till Sept 2010 but we will be celebrating a birthday and this cake thread will seriously influence where I make our birthday meal ADRs just so we get the right cake!

I haven't called the cake hotline yet, but wanted to get some advice first.

I'm going for my birthday next week. I'm thinking of surprising my fiance with my birthday cake. (he said he was going to order one, but I know he hasn't) I was thinking just a small 1 person size Mickey Delight cake. I'm not sure of flavors yet. Thinking marble w/ chocolate frosting. Something we might have on our wedding cake next year. It would be delivered to Garden Grill.

I was wondering if anyone knew how much it costs for a cake like this? Or had the cake frosting combo and how it was? Also, am I too late to order being 8 days away?

Thanks!

Yes, that is the Brian who made our cake- he is wonderful! Sorry if you are suddenly overwhelmed with requests Brian! But you cake was awesome! :worship:

I am mailing photos to you in your thank you card as well!

And, lurkyloo, ask and ye shall receive!

WOW! That cake is beyond awesome!!! He needs to enter competitions!!!!!

I'm going to have to eat at the Contemporary just to order a cake and HOPE he makes it. Goodness that is freaking amazing!

Your HM cake is amazing!! I showed the pics to my DH and his response was "wow, if we could guarantee that the person that made that cake, makes ours, we will buy one." I am thinking about getting a cake for our oldest DS on our next trip b/c he will be turning 13 on the trip.

Unfortunately, the cake selection at in-park restaurants is very small - usually only a vanilla or chocolate buttercream-frosted cake of 6, 8, or 10 inches. Sometimes you can get the big Mickey head cake, which feeds up to 12 people.

If you want a Mickey's Delight, you'll need to eat at the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Yacht & Beach or BoardWalk Inn. The smallest one I've seen is a 6-inch, which feeds way more than one person. However, you might be able to talk them into a mini-cake with the Mickey's Delight pattern.

I'd call ASAP though, cuz sometimes it takes a while to track down the person you need to talk to.

:thumbsup2

Avidchick... was the "wallpaper" an edible image?

Yes, it was edible, but a little gooey - not sure exactly how it was created though! It also turned our teeth and tongues green for a little while - no pictures of that, sorry! :)

Perhaps CakeManBri can elaborate a bit more on how he did it... or maybe it's a trade secret!

The wallpaper was an edible image. Actually 5 of them. The had to be cut with an arch in them so the ruffle could go on top.

At last.....heaven on earth!

I have been spastically trying to come up with some kind of plan or my sons birthday cake on Oct. 12th. That HM cake is the BOMB.....AND...our ADR is for Chef Mickeys so Brian will be the one to make it from what I've read!!!!!!

I think we should start a CakeManBri fan club....lol.

(ps...Im single and love creative men).... :rotfl:

I'm plan on ordering my dad a custom cake, but a small one, about the size of the mini wedding cake, but I'm not sure about the prices because I've heard different ranges, and it's making me slightly confused :confused3

I'm kinda also confused on what I want the cake to have, he doesn't have any favorite character, he's never had one really, and it's hard trying to think of any ideas on how I want the cake to be. So, I'm enlisting your help to help me come up with suggestions :goodvibes

All I know is, no chocolate cake!

Thank you!
