HELP!! Has anyone ordered (or seen) a birthday cake at any of the Epcot restaurants? My daughter picked Rose and Crown for dinner on her 13th birthday and I would love to order a special cake for her. I have looked through the cake threads and seen so many wonderful cakes but nothing at Rose and Crown.

Is it possible to order a cake for R&C?

Thanks!

there was an aurora cake from rose and crown only a few weeks ago. I would look in the gallery thread.

So if I'm looking to get my dd something special for her birthday at 1900 park fare and I'm looking for something individual sized to feed just 1 or 2 people what are my options. Is there any I'm not thinking of.

slipper (do they do the one with the mouse there or the fruit?)
dalmation dog bones
individual wedding cake with castle
choc cov strawberries with choc statue

ummm that's all I can think of is there any other options? I would love a small mickey cake like the one people have seen at boardwalk bakery but I guess that isn't an option at GF.

And if you were a very girly girl turning 7 which would you like to receive?

Definitely the Slipper or The Individual Wedding Cake! :goodvibes

There's another individual wedding cake - it's two tiers, and slightly smaller. The bottom tier is about 3" in diameter, the top is 1.5"? I think those are the right measurements. It stands about 4 inches high, runs about 30$. Very cute. :)

My girls were wowed by the slipper and the mini castle cake....however, the mini castle cake was definitely more yummy.

My girls were also wowed by the Mickey statue with strawberries on a different trip.

I've by several DISers that the dogs bones aren't very good tasting.

They serve the slipper at GF with mousse. Fruit and angel food cake is at the CRT.

I haven't seen anyone get the mini Mickey Head cake at the GF.

Does anyknow if the mini wedding cake can be decorated like with the sprinkles give it some pizzaz! it is for my belated Birthday.

I really wish there were some more option for 2 people. I just don't think the big Mickey head will do even if it is low sugar. I am contemplating the mini cake but would have to change our reservations to the cafe from the UK place. Not sure I want to do that.

You could order her one of the Princess Treasure Chest cakes. The cake portion is about the size of two good-sized cupcakes and comes in a pink treasure chest. There might be something else that comes with it too, but I'm not sure. They are around $15 and then she can keep the treasure chest for goodies. :)

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking, too! I have an almost 5 year old and he can't keep a secret for 5 minutes, let alone 5 months! Wow- even I'm proud of your DD- lol I think she DEFINITELY deserves that little cake- what a nice surprise for her :) I hope you have a great trip!

Sooo, I've been fretting over my birthday cake. We're going to be in Disney for my 30-something-th birthday in December. I was obsessing over it for awhile, then I've been so busy that I hadn't been able to fixate on it, but I'mmmm baaaack! lol

I've got some more direction, I think... It sounds like we will be lunching on my bday at Chef Mickey's, which since it's at Contemporary, I should be able to have my custom cake there, right *COUGHcakemanbriCOUGH*?

I know I want that cute little mini two tiered cake that has been shown on several recent pages (the mini 2 tiered white fondant with the silver stamped Mickey's around it). There will definitely be 4 of us (2A, 2C), but now that I think of it, there may be 8 of us (4A, 4C), so I'll have to re-think the size, so more on that later...

I've been saying all along that if I'm going to pay a lot of money for my cake, I want it to be something I ooh & ahhh over and that everyone else oooh's & ahhh's over... I want it to be something that is so ME, yet is very Disney at the same time, sooo this is what I'm thinking... I'd like Tink, but I want the newer sassy Tink. My friend showed me this picture from a birthday card her DD got:
Tink.jpg

... which works out great because I looove purple, and the flowers she's sitting on are purple! The other thing I'd like to do is to see if I can get the stamped Mickey's around the outside in lavendar or another purple-ish color...

I know people have asked this before, but I'm not sure I've heard a definitive answer on it.... how early is TOO early to call about my cake? I'd just feel better once I have it all figured out and I'll have the size all figured out by the end of the month because we can make our ADRs on 8/24.

Sorry to have written an encyclopedia over here... :/

Does anyknow if the small mickey head cakes can be ordered for Boma or are those stritcly at the BW? Hubby is a diabetic and we just are not big cake eaters. But the only cake I like is the Mickey head cake. And I just think that cake is too big. I am now rethiking and might just get a small mickey head cake for me and a low sugar cake for him. a Boma said they would make it low sugar or sugar free for me. I bought the box cake mix low sugar and might try a low sugar cake and see if he likes it.

I ordered a mickey head cake for my son's b-day next week to have at Jiko-they told me they only have the large one-($49 I think)...the 3 choices I was offered was a zebra cake, the mickey and a more traditional vanilla or chocolate cake...the more traditional I believe you can get smaller-though not as small as an individual...I don't know if they accomodate special dietary needs of not...Good luck...:goodvibes

Does any know if you can get strawberry or rasberry filling in the cake? I aam thinking of doing the mini cake and doing either minnie or the castle on top with hopefully strawberry filling or chocolate covered strawberries. I would like to have it pink with sprinkles

What mini two-tier cake? You mean the REALLY tiny one? The castle won't fit on that. I don't know about fillings though.

The mini double you cannot do a topper. It is not large enough, not even for the small castle. Also, I believe the minis only come in one flavor choice, meaning no choice of filling.

Okiedokie, I'm all set! I have ordered my mini-cake for 30$. I picked chocolate, yummmmm.

I followed the prompts, and didn't even have to be transferred out of the call center... she knew the cake I meant- the 30$ two tiered one. She offerred the 6 inch and 8 inch, but I said I wanted the 1 person mini one, because it is a buffet, and we're going to be stuffed.

I picked chocolate for inside, since they only offered chocolate and vanilla, no fillings or anything. And they're writing "Happy Anniversary" on the cake. She took my credit card number, not sure when they're going to bill me, she didn't say.

Was she supposed to take my confirmation number at the restaurant as well? Or was just the time we're eating there and my name will be enough? She has my phone number as well.

I'm excited, this means it's close!!!!!

Been narrowing down my ideas, and I have some questions. I think I finally have it down to two ideas, but I'm thinking one won't work?:confused3

First, my questions...then my ideas.

1) Will they make a marble cake with raspberry mousse filling for an 8 inch cake?
2) If they only do white, yellow or chocolate cake in an 8 inch size, will they do raspberry filling or is it only white or chocolate buttercream?
3) Will they do a white chocolate cinderella shoe with raspberry mousse inside it, and sugar flowers ON TOP of an 8 inch mickey head stamped cake?
4) Will they do an 8 inch cake in green fondant with leaf and vine design's with chocolate giraffee and elephants on top??
5) Having lunch at Sanaa on day of arrival, followed by Wanyama Safari and dinner at Jiko. Is it best to have cake presented at lunch (kind of as a welcome to my cousins for our first DVC trip together), and ask them to hold it til we finish with tour/dinner at jiko, and have left over delivered to room?? Or best to have it presented at dinner (but this is the tour/dinner, will they present a cake then?)...OR have it delivered to room when we settle in that evening?

My ideas,

1) An 8 inch marble cake with mousse (raspberry or chocolate) filling, with white fondant and mickey head stamps with a white chocolate cinderella shoe filled with raspberry mousse and sugar flowers or leaves on top or

2) An 8 inch cake with green fondant, leaves and vines, and chocolate animals on top

either with chocolate dipped strawberries 1/2 was around the base of the cake.

Any and all help is appreciated. I figure I'll try to get as many answers before I make the call so I know my parimeters.
This is for my upcoming trip with myself and two cousins, with two cousins meeting us there for part of the trip.

THANKS!

I would only order the cake at the Sunset Safari dinner if you are prepared to order a large enough cake to share with the whole tour as you will all be seated at one large table and it would be quite rude to eat cake and not share IMO.

Also I don't think you will have any of your design options available at the AKL. It's usually the GF Bakery or Boardwalk Bakery that gets into the more elaborate cake designs and flavors. I think your options at AKL are the Zebra cake, Mickey cake, or regular vanilla/chocolate.

Thanks for the info on the dinner. I'll have to try for our lunch.

As far as only GF and BB doing the more elaborate cakes, this is incorrect.
I had a gorgeous cake made for our anniversary by the Yacht & Beach Club pastry chef. I do know that one can call private dining for any of the resorts for a cake, but I DO NOT know if AKL is one of the resorts that will do it. I will give a call and see what they have to say.

Again, thanks for your input.

Just got off the phone with a person in the pastry dept for AKL. She said I CAN get the 6 inch cake decorated in green fondant with vines and leafs, and sugar leafs on top with chocolate elephants, and some chocolate dipped strawberries around the bottom, and I can have it delivered during our lunch in Sanaa. Now I just have to find out (closer to the date) if they'll hold the leftovers til my room is ready and have it delivered to my room for munching on during the trip!

They do NOT have the mickey stamps like at GF (no big deal I prefer the above for my occasion anyway)
I can only get yellow or chocolate cake with vanilla or chocolate buttercream filling...again, that's fine.

She made my day. If they CANNOT hold the leftovers and deliver to my room, I'll see if they can deliver the cake into my room that evening, instead of during our lunch (like a specialty basket)?? Anyone know if this is possible or am I asking too much:confused3?
