pl'smama, not that you asked, but based on my reading on this thread, you might want to follow up on your order a few days before, or it may get lost. Other posters have said theirs did, and a lot ordered perhaps too early.

Thanks grannieminnie, I will do that! I have heard the horror stories as well, so I appreciate your advice!

Merry Christmas, Suz

Just got back last night. :) Wonderful trip. Couldn't have been any better!

We got a terrific Star Wars cake! My son loved it! So did we! Great surprise. If I can get the time/and figure out how to post a picture of the cake I will.

Thanks to all that posted so many great tips about the cakes! It helped me a lot! Happy Holidays!

Where did you get the Star Wars cake delivered? Whom did you call? Thanks!

Hi. I had the cake delivered to Coral Reef Restaurant. Can't say enough good things about that place! They were tip top! Did everything I asked and more. Very nice and effective staff. I called the phone number on the first post of this thread. (Thanks a million, OP!)

The cake was decorated with a montage of Star Wars pictures from different episodes. Hard to explain, but done well! :)

HTH!

Please tell me you took a picture that you are willing to share!?!?!? Please, please, please!

I do have it and I will share. My computer is having problems :guilty: and I haven't downloaded the pictures. I'm going to wait until it is fixed. I'm afraid I'll lose my Disney pictures. It's a tough problem to have right now, cause I have a bunch of Photopass pictures to work on and I'd like to add my pictures to that but it'll all have to wait for now. Ugh.

Anyway, I will post it as soon as I can.

We are going to be having a late breakfast (11:00) at 1900 Park Fair in June and would like to surprise our parents with a dessert for their anniversary. We were wondering how many people the slipper dessert will feed, there will be 4 in our group, and also if you can order the tuxedo strawberries at 1900 Park Fair. Also, how do you order the strawberries, i.e. is there a certain number you have to order and how much do they cost?

We will also be eating at the Coral Reef for dinner. Can you get the tuxedo strawberries there? If so, same questions apply from above.

Thanks for any information. :goodvibes

Just ordered dd's birthday cake. We're having dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I ordered a 10" vanilla cake, custard and strawberry filling, vanilla buttercream icing (how did I have a daughter that prefers vanilla to chocolate?) and a stand up white chocolate Cinderella. It was $40 for the cake and $15 for the topper.

10" is a lot of cake for 5 people but we'll take it back to the room and eat it the rest of the vacation. I had to order the 10" to get the strawberry custard filling.

We thought that too for an 8" cake for 6 people and we ended up throwing half of it away! Ugh. It stayed in the fridge the whole time. It was a really expensive cake when you deduct the half that wasn't eaten!

I tried to give some of it away (not easy for me to do, it was GOOD) that night at the restaurant, but couldn't. Lots of people on the dining plan and getting dessert. Too much food! We had desserts that night on top getting the cake! We had food coming out of our ears the entire trip. (Not to mention I gained some weight, but that's for another thread)

Maybe your experience will be different. I hope so!

I don't think our experience will be any different. We did the same thing last January and in June for ds's birthday. The cakes are so special though it's worth throwing even half away (to me at least) just to see their expression. I try to get a different kind of cake for each birthday. We've done the slipper dessert, mini castle cakes, "dog bones", Nemo cake, chocolate Mickey head cakes, etc.

has anyone gotten a butterscotch or caramel cake? I want to get one for my parents anniversary but chocolate is a no go.
TIA!
Wheres the best place to get a cake?

We had a cake at the GFC for Christmas. The only request I made was that it be a Christmas Theme. It was gorgeous. And so tasty. It was 55.00 plus tips and taxes. Came to roughly 65.00

This is cake is so cute!! I would love to have one like it, but with Stitch somewhere, delivered when we have dinner on Christmas day next year at CRT. Then have it say "Merry Christmas Joey & John from Stitch".

I was wondering if anyone knew if you can only order a cake 2 weeks out or can you order earlier?

I'm quite upset by this one. We ate at gfc on christmas eve and asked for a christmas themed cake with a mickey. I originally asked for just a christmas theme and she said it would just be poinsettias so then I told her to add Mickey so at least it would look disney-ish. (I'll post a pic once I get them sorted) It was a cake with a white chocolate mickey on it-pretty plain (nothing like what you got) and it cost us about 80.00 (with tax)
Probably not worth it. That mickey on top was 30.00. We were way too excited when we ordered it (just a few days before our trip) because we would not normally spend that kind of money on a cake.
Won't do it again. Unless we go on our birthdays or something.

You can order a cake more than 2 weeks out but make sure to call a couple of days before to make sure they still have your cake order. I've heard of a bunch of orders getting lost.

Cool thanks!! I am trying to plan several surprises for our trip, since I can never seem to keep the entire trip a secret.
