Mods-I apologize! I am trying to resize the photo. This is my first time posting photos and I am so not succeeding!
By the way, this is the bd cake we ordered for ds14 at WCC. It was really yummy!

We just came back from a trip to celebrate our son's 13th b'day. We stayed @ the AKV's and ordered a cake with a safari theme. We didn't want to go with the Zebra cake because they add rum to it and didn't know if he would like it. I asked if they could do something with a safari theme and they did. We had it delivered to our room so that he would be surprised upon our return from dinner. They did such a great job and we were very happy with the outcome. If I can figure out how to post the photos I will. I would advise calling them too bounce some ideas off of them. They were terrific!
If you need the direct #, let me know. I don't have it handy right now.
Happy B'day to your mom - have a great trip!

Hi dvcbnd :wave2:
We are staying at the AKL too and I'd like to order a cake for my DS B-day too. He'll be 19, but is very into Disney and can't wait to celebrate there. Did you have to order your cake in advance? Did you set up the delivery times prior to arriving? We get there on a Monday morning and I'd like it to be in our room when we get back from the Parks that night. The parks close pretty early so it will be around 8:30pm. I think he would like the safari theme too since we are staying at the AKL.
Thanks for your help!

Merry Christmas!!

Hi Tink!
I ordered our DS's cake about 4 days before and I specified a delivery time. I would mention what your intentions are, that you want it in the room upon your return from the parks. I found them very helpful and accomodating so I don't think that you'll have a problem. I had his cake del'd on a Monday, also. Good luck and a very Happy Birthday to your son!

Does anyone know if you can have a cake delivered to your room at the value resorts? I'm taking DD for her Bday in March to Pop. We always stay deluxe but this and extra trip just for her Bday over spring break. I would love to have it delivered to Pop. I could have a cake for her at Chef Mickey's dinner but we are going back to MK after and I don't want to lug a cake :confused3 around . What would you do? Thanks.

I had a surprise birthday cake for my mom on my last trip. I want to thank you guys for starting this thread, because I would have never known about the special cakes without ya.

I am trying to get ideas for our summer birthday trip. All of us have a summer birthday June-Aug. so I am getting one cake to celebrate for us all. I wanted a custom cake, but it looks like fewer places are letting you do this.

I will try for Tony's, Ohanas, or Hoop de doo

This cake was delivered to our room at CBR Dec 1st. They also delivered 2 balloons and a signed card. They gave my DD a signed card too which was wonderful and really appreciated. The cake was delicious. It was 10 inches with white ganache filling. The sand was graham crackers. Boardwalk Bakery made it the cost was $50. Hope this helps someone.

I just wanted to thank all of you for giving such great information. I ordered a cake last week for my own birthday (so I was sure I would be getting what I wanted) on December 15th. We ate at Ohana's and when they brought out my cake I was amazed. It was bigger than I expected (8"=$25) and was delicious. I got chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries between the layers and a chocolate buttercream frosting. It was one of the best cakes I've ever had. Super moist and very yummy. No pictures though since the waitress whisked off the cake as soon as I blew out the candles. It was a great birthday and the Exec. Chef even came by to see how I liked the cake. Thanks everyone!

I just ordered a chocolate 6" cake from Chef Mickeys. I was told I had a choice between a digital image or for it to be enscribed. I decided to have them put "Happy Birthday Daddy" on the cake. Total cost is $16.

Tricia- I'm happy to see that someone got a cake delivered to cbr. We are staying there in January and I want to get my daughter a cake. Did the bakery charge you for delivery? Also, did the bakery bring the balloons, or did you get them from somewhere else? Thanks for the info- I hope I can get a high school musical cake. I am not sure when I should order the cake. I want it for Jan 8th, but am afraid if I order anytime soon they will lose it with the Christmas hubbub. Wish me luck, lol.

We had a cake at the GFC for Christmas. The only request I made was that it be a Christmas Theme. It was gorgeous. And so tasty. It was 55.00 plus tips and taxes. Came to roughly 65.00

Well our trip was great! The cake not so much. Matter of fact it was down right nasty! I ordered a 10 inch marble cake with custard and strawberry filling with white buttercream icing to be delieverd to our CBR room for our DD's b-day. It was supposed to be delivered at noon on Dec 11th we got to our room at 1:30pm it wasn't there. So I called the front desks and they connected me to the food and beverage dept.

She put me on hold to check about it and said there was an order there for it but the cake was not there. She said she would send someone to pick it up (I don't know where they were picking it up from) Anyway about 3:00pm a lady brought it with a card signed by Minnie and two balloons (which was really nice to do) Although the cake looked great it was not good at all. I have had better Duncan Hines cakes if you want to know the truth. To top it off it was like 70 bucks. Win some you loose some I guess.

Did you call Ohanas' to order that cake or the cake hotline number?

Ari & Liv's mom- I called hotline number and extension for CBR. A very nice man helped me, he told me the cake comes from boardwalk bakery. There was no delivery charge that I know of but I didn't ask for a price breakdown. He mentioned he would throw in balloons and card. I don't know if that is standard. Mousekeeping also left 2 balloons, which was a really nice surprise. I would call now for Jan 8th. CBR said they would call me a few days before to confirm everything. I ended up calling back first. They had everything right there so I think they are organized. Have a great trip.

We got back last week. We ordered a Stitch Christmas cake at Plaza. It was marble cake, with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting. The picture on top was very nice. I just asked for Stitch and a Christmas theme. We really enjoyed it. It cost $48, plus we used the DDE discount. It was a lot of cake. Not the greatest cake I've ever tasted, but it was definitely a fun experience. I would certainly do it again. I will post pictures as soon as I can. I'm afraid my post count is too low to add any pictures yet.

Well, I have ordered a cake for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare in January!! I spoke to Linda herself and she was helpful for the most part. I did feel a bit rushed, but what can you do?

I had wanted to order three mini castle cakes as we will be celebrating our DD's 5th birthday and those of her two cousins. If they each had their own mini castle cake they would all be happy. I thought the mini castle cake was $15.00, but it is not, it's $25.00. So, no go on that idea. Too much money for three little cakes.

I took Linda's suggestion and have ordered an 8 inch marble cake with white buttercream icing and white chocolate filling. There will be a "stand up" Cinderella on the top with a chocolate disk saying Happy Birthday and all three girls names. I hope it works out okay. I really want this to be special for them and the cake would just top it off. So, keep your fingers crossed!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Suz

pl'smama, not that you asked, but based on my reading on this thread, you might want to follow up on your order a few days before, or it may get lost. Other posters have said theirs did, and a lot ordered perhaps too early.
