Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

Just got off the phone with V&A and ordered DD a yellow cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries with a covering of swirled white and dark chocolate ganache for her 21st b-day. She loves Tinkerbelle so we ordered a Tink soild chocolate cake topper. Now I just have to keep it a secret.

Oops I forgot to mention that. It's a 10 inch cake and the total for the cake was $70. I promise I will post the pictures when we get back in September.

So....what does the slipper taste like? I'm planning a birthday dinner at CRT in August. I'm going to be there with my brother and 2 cousins, so I think a cake will be too big for us. I love the slipper, but I definatly want to get something that tastes good and is worth the $12.50. Also, has anyone ever had a cake with Gus on it? I figured I could get a Sleeping Beauty or Stitch cake at home, so I should go with one I love and I'm not likely to find anywhere eles if I go with a cake.

We will be in DW next summer for my son's ithday. We are probably going to eat dinner that night at Trail's End. I want to order him a cake. If I order it from WL can they deliver it to Trail's End or do I have to go and pick it up and bring it myself. How exactly dos this work?

The latest on ordering a cake at the Contemporary:

as of late May, when I called, the lady on the phone offered me a choice of a 6", an 8", or a 10" cake.

The flavors: vanilla or chocolate cake
chocolate or white chocolate filling
chocolate or vanilla buttercream frosting.

I asked if the filling could be something with strawberry, and she said that she would ask; I told her if they couldn't, then go with the white chocolate filling.

Prices: as has been reported.

Are the 6" generic $12.50 cake the same price at GF? Do you think you can order the chocolate mickey on the side? The mini cake, do you have to have the white castle on it, or can you order something else?

I'm pretty sure you can get the 6 inch at any restaurant but I believe the 6 inch is a generic (frozen) cake and cannot be customized.

Yes, I believe you can order the choc mickey by itself at any resort that carries it.

I'm pretty sure the mini wedding cake can be ordered without the castle. When I ordered our cake back in 2004, the choc castle was extra $$ and what made the cake so expensive. I think I remember her telling me the castle was $15. Call and ask.

Hi, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question.
My DD8's birthday is Spetember 10 and we will arrive on September 13. Will they still allow her to wear the birthday button for our full stay or can you only wear it for one day?

We have tentative plans for spending our first day at either AK or DTD(haven't decided yet). Also, our first day we have no set meal planned and our second day we have reservations for Cindy's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare(GF, anyway). I'd like to order cake for her on either the first or second day. Can you suggest what would be the least complicated and easiest way to do this?

I would think probably not, since RFC isn't a Disney owned restaurant, but you never know. The number I have for the DtD RFC is (407) 827-8500.

Since AK has no TS restaurant (other than RFC) I'd go with the GF. They make some of the most beautiful cakes anyway, and you're dining there so shouldn't have a problem getting one. You can have it brought out at dessert time.
