I just CALLED AND WENT THROUGH THE *CAKE* HOTLINE..ITS THE WHOLE..IF YOU WANT THIS..PRESS THIS.....soo EASY..THE gf RESORT PICKED RIGHT UP AND SHE WAS sooo NICE AND HELPFUL...

CALL: 1.407.827.2253 FOR THE hotline....

Does anyone know what kind of cakes are offered at le Cellier?? I am celebrating my b-day while we are there but my DBF told me to just plan everything including any cakes...guess the surprise element is out of the question. Anyway, what do they offer that is small since it's only the two of us?

PixieMama,

Did you call the cake hotline number or the restaurant directly? Thanks so much!

I called the phone# for Chef Mickey's (407)824-1520... I had to leave a message and got a call back from Louise about 3 hours later. She was very nice and helpful.

I would definitely NOT call Linda directly. After reading this thread, I called Linda to order a cake for a friend who is in WDW right now (called over a week ago), and someone other than Linda answered the phone and went on and on about how stressed Linda is to be getting so many calls. I was given the number for GF private dining, and ordered just what I wanted through them. They delivered and set up the cake in the room while my friend and her family were out, and she called me on Friday to tell me how great it was.
The number I called is 407-824-2474.

So here's what happened. . . I called the cake hotline number and there wasn't a prompt for for Garden View Tea Room (which is where we want to have the cake), so I hung up and called the number listed for the GF bakery. What do I get? Linda's voice mail! I hung up and called the number listed for the GF, and was transferred to the cake hotline. I hung up again and called private dining. They told me I need to talk to Linda and transferred me to her voice mail. So I left a message for her since I tried all the phone numbers and I don't know how else to get a cake ordered. That was yesterday and she hasn't called back so we'll see . . .:confused3

I have already ordered a cake for next Thurs. (10/25) for my FIL's birthday dinner at WCC. Does anyone know if they can do a sugar-free cake or use sugar substitute and not lose any of the flavor? TIA

I just called the cake hotline, and pushed the numbers to get through to the Poly.
I ordered my cake for the Spirit of Aloha show on October 27. It should be a chocolate cake, with custard/ raspberry filling and whipped cream icing. I asked for a polynesian/ hawaiian theme.
I didn't get the CM's name. She wasn't overly friendly or helpful, but wasn't rude either.
I am glad though that I knew exactly what I wanted (size, flavours, ...) from reading these boards. I don't think it would have been easy otherwise.

I'll make pictures and post them afterwards!

There is an option for the GF/ Poly, and then one of the first two options is the Garden view tea room.

I ordered a cake last week and wasn't given any options other than size and vanilla/chocolate, and the lady bordered on rude. (at the very least, harrassed-sounding) I hadn't seen this thread, so I didn't know about all of the lovely choices. Today I called back, and ordered a 10 inch vanilla with white buttercream icing and fruit mousse filling, with a Mickey on top holding a "happy birthday" banner. I got to thinking about it, and wondered if they had a white chocolate Mickey to put on top, so I phoned back. Good thing I did, because the first person had gotten my location wrong! They were sending the cake to the GF cafe, but I'm dining at Narcoossee's. The lady was very nice (and I was so thankful to get that straightened out!), she put me on hold to find about a white chocolate Mickey. She came back with a price of $28, hand-painted, and he couldn't stand on top of the cake, that he was too large, but they would put him beside it. I really wanted a Mickey on TOP of the cake, so I stuck with my original order of the happy birthday banner Mickey, with the correct location. :)

Can I ask -- did you call the cake hotline and get the restaurant? Or did you call GF dining? I'm going to be dining at Narcoossees's and I'm too confused as to who to call regarding a cake.

I called the cake hotline (407-827-2253) and followed the prompts until it said Grand Floridian (and listed each restaurant) it was choice #5 I think. :)

The GF/Poly is prompt #5 on the hotline. Then it's:

Press 1 for 1900 Park Fare, GF Cafe, Citricos, Narcoose's, & GF Pastry Shop

Press 2 for Victoria & Albert's

Press 3 for Spirit of Aloha, Kona Cafe, & 'Ohana

I'm not sure what the GF Pastry Shop is, but would like to know. The Garden View Tea Room was definitely not given as an option. I pressed 1 and asked for it anyway. The lady was nice and would have taken my order but said for a custom cake I had to talk to Linda.

We are taking our son on a Wishes Cruise with friends on his birthday in December and I was wondering if we can get a cake on the cruise and what options are available. Does anyone know? Who would we call to order it?

I'm hoping for a Peter Pan or pirate themed cake for him.

Thanks so much!
Lara

We leave tomorrow for WDW (:woohoo: ) and will be dining @ Chef Mickey's next Friday. I wanted to order a cake as a little surprise for my husband to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I called the phone# for Chef Mickey's and had to leave a message; I got a call back from Louise about 3 hours later. She was super nice! :thumbsup2

Since there will be the dessert and sundae bars for dinner, I just went for the smallest cake... there will only be 4 of us, anyway. I ordered a 6" chocolate cake; it should be about $16 plus tax. Louise asked if I wanted an "anniversary" cake topper (she said these were made from marzipan and edible paper) or an inscription. I went with the inscription ...the cake is going to say "10 years of magic"

I'll try and post a pic of the cake after we get back! I hope it turns out ok!!

Here is the cake we had at Chef Mickey's (hope the pics post!)

The cake was good, very moist. DH and I could have done without the confetti sprinkles, but our DDs liked them!

Here is the cake we ordered for our ten year old daughter. This is a WONDERFUL thread and a wonderful idea for some people. However, for us, it just wasn't worth it. My daughter turned ten, like I said. The entire trip was very special, and because of her birthday button we had many special things that happened. Every restaurant we went to gave her a cupcake. Everywhere we went people said happy birthday. So, we get to 50s Prime Time Cafe, and I went and checked in and double checked about our cake that I had ordered. Yep, all taken care of. So, we sit down. The people next to us also had a birthday and ordered a cake. When dessert time came, I skipped the dessert that comes with the dining plan. Everyone else ordered. When our desserts arrive there is no cake. DD gets her dessert she ordered. A couple minutes later our waitress brought a birthday cupcake out, and everyone sang. I had to tell our waitress that we ordered a cake. So much for the surprise. When she brought it out, she made people sing again. So, 3 of the 4 of us had cake. We were headed to the Boarwalk fromm there and had no desire to carry a cake with us, so we left it there. The box we were given to carry it home was huge.

While it was our choice to leave it, it was a waste of money. Not because it wasn't good or beautiful. But, because it didn't make a big difference in the huge celebration of her birthday. We just decided after that dinner we'd never do it again, especially if we were on the dining plan. I'm not trying to be negative, just offering another view that the birthdays are very special even if you don't do the cake.

Just for others reading this... There's no guarantee that you'll receive a "free" birthday cupcake. If you want to be sure about things, the only way is to order a cake. :goodvibes We've mentioned a birthday on the reservation, wore a button, and still not received a cupcake. It just depends...

Thanks for clarifying that for everyone. We received one for almost every meal except for one.

Maybe it was because you had such a cute daughter! :goodvibes I'd just hate to see some disappointed because they expected to have the same experience you did. As we all probably know, Disney is not very consistent on things like this!

Here is the cake I ordered for DH to celebrate his BDay at the AKL...it was a special order, all chocolate, zebra amenity cake...it was THE BEST cake we have ever gotten at WDW...and we have gotten them all over the "world".

Also, through the CR private dining I ordered this for DH from DD. They both thoroughly enjoyed the cookies for four days! Sorry, we had already eaten three of them.:goodvibes

I celebrated my birthday at the Kona Cafe in August. I had the chocolate cake, whipped cream icing, and fruit mousse filling. When I called and ordered, I opted to not have a character image or figurine so they asked me what I wanted. She said she could decorate it with a Hawaiian theme to go with the resort so I said that was perfect. Here are some pictures of my cake.

The fruit mousse was amazing and went really well with the chocolate cake. The sand on top was graham cracker crumbs, making int all the better!

Oh I love this cake! I wonder if they could do some sort of Lilo/Stitch thing with it. I was going to order a cake for DD's birthday, as we're at CRT *that* day, but now I'm wondering if waiting a couple of nights for our Kona meal would be more appropriate.
