So we are back from our wedding trip to disney. As promised, here is a pic of our cake from our rehearsal dinner, which was a surprise to everyone including my now husband:

It was chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse. Everyone loved it. I think they liked it better than our wedding cake which was chocolate cake with Bailey's mousse and marble cake with tropical mousse. It was delicious and gorgeous. We had 42 people, and we got a half sheet cake and still had half of it left over.

It looks really yummy!

I can't understand why Disney doesn't have a better system and customer service when it comes to cake orders.

I want to order two cakes for our trip soon and I dread the anxiety of wondering if we will get what we wanted.

The people who received what they wanted.....did you call to check on your order? Call in the morning?

I waited and called 5 days before I wanted it and Linda nearly didn't accept the order. She said oh we need at least 2 weeks notice for a cake like this. And I said but I called and was told to call back within a week! (And I was).

So my advice is NOT to wait til a few days before, especially if you are getting it from the GF bakery and definitely call to check. I didn't call to check because it was already a few days before I wanted it.

Our anniversary cake from the Poly was totally lovely. I stressed about it but DH worked with a lovely lady there who really pulled some magical strings. We wanted a tropical theme ... they ended up making an edible lei on top of the cake with larger edible flowers. (One of the flowers had a petal broken off during delivery which I stuck back on , just wanted to mention it because it's visible in the photos).

It was yellow cake with strawberries and custard filling, chocolate buttercream on top then a layer of ganache. Delicious tasting too.

Applechips -- What kind of cake did you order that Linda said they needed 2 weeks notice to make? Was there something unusual about it?

I'll need a cake at the GF in 3 weeks . . . I don't want to wait too long to order!!

We leave tomorrow for WDW (:woohoo: ) and will be dining @ Chef Mickey's next Friday. I wanted to order a cake as a little surprise for my husband to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I called the phone# for Chef Mickey's and had to leave a message; I got a call back from Louise about 3 hours later. She was super nice! :thumbsup2

Since there will be the dessert and sundae bars for dinner, I just went for the smallest cake... there will only be 4 of us, anyway. I ordered a 6" chocolate cake; it should be about $16 plus tax. Louise asked if I wanted an "anniversary" cake topper (she said these were made from marzipan and edible paper) or an inscription. I went with the inscription ...the cake is going to say "10 years of magic"

I'll try and post a pic of the cake after we get back! I hope it turns out ok!!

I am so giddy!! Today I ordered a cake for my father-in-laws 60th birthday and it will be delivered to our table during our Oct. 24th ADR at WCC. I completley forgot to write down the name of the lady that called me back but she was super nice and very helpful. I went for the 10 inch cake since I wanted it personalized. So it will be a 10" marble cake with white buttercream filling and whip cream icing. It will say "Happy 60th Birthday" and the very nice helpful lady (now kicking myself that I forgot to write down her name) made a note in the order that my in-laws like camping and the outdoors. I hope it looks amazing and I'm sure it will but I can't help feeling a little nervous since I have never ordered a cake sight-unseen. Fingers crossed that it comes out nice and super tasty!

Has anyone had a cake delivered for their wishes cruise? We are leaving from the Polynesian and I want to order a cake to surprise one of my sisters.

I celebrated my birthday at the Kona Cafe in August. I had the chocolate cake, whipped cream icing, and fruit mousse filling. When I called and ordered, I opted to not have a character image or figurine so they asked me what I wanted. She said she could decorate it with a Hawaiian theme to go with the resort so I said that was perfect. Here are some pictures of my cake.

The fruit mousse was amazing and went really well with the chocolate cake. The sand on top was graham cracker crumbs, making int all the better!

That's a beautiful Hawaiian cake from the Poly!! How was the whipped cream icing?? I am calling tomorrow or Tuesday to order my cake for in-room delivery at the Poly, on the 15th and I am still pondering what kind to order. I havent heard great things about the buttercream icing, so I was wondering about the whipped cream icing- was it tooth numbing sweet??? :confused3

Thanks- and input from ANYONE is also greatly appreciated!!!

I love the zebra cake! I wonder if I could order it to have brought to our table when dining at Boma? How much did you have to pay for the zebra cake? How do I order one? Thanks a million for sharing! (I am not fond of Boma's desserts even though most of the family likes zebra domes. I think we would enjoy the cake after that meal!)
I have a few cakes to share. The first is a picture of a birthday cake my son received at AKL.

The second is a picture of the zebra cake we ordered at AKL. It was really a very flavorful cake. One of the best I have ever had. We requested a marble cake and YUM, this one was very well done!

Both cakes were delivered to our AKL room.

The cake is available at AKL (being as Boma is at AKL, I am pretty sure that means you can have it delivered there). I think we paid $35 for the cake. We ordered through the AKL concierge, however, I know it can be ordered via the cake hotline.

I hope you enjoy your cake as much as we did ours. It was so moist and delicious! It was a VERY good cake! **Side note, they told me they wouldn't write our message on the cake and that it would be written in chocolate on the platter. Our cake did come with writing on it though (even a few Mickey heads for good measure ;))...so maybe they have changed that policy.**

I went ahead and called to order our cakes last Friday. I called the MK line first to order my son's birthday cake for LTT. I talked with a very helpful lady and was pleasantly surprised how well it went.

Then I was transfer to the Poly. I had a totally different experience. I wanted to order an 41st anniversary cake for my parents. I was hoping to get one similar to ones posted here. One with the white choc mickey/minnie wedding pose, with ganache and fruit filling. She told me I could only order the basic cake of either white or chocolate, nothing special. She said the Poly did not have a bakery that could supply me with the cake I wanted. I told her I had seen multiple cakes from the Poly that had many different types of customization. She didn't budge. She did tell me I could get the figurine for an additional $25, so I did that. I also asked for the scroll with 41 years of magic, and she said she would see what they could do.

How disappointing! Just look above my post, it is obvious they can do "different" cakes. I'm going to wait a couple of days and try again. I'm just afraid I'll end up with two cakes now. :confused3

Well we're back from vacation and we had a fantastic time. Heres a couple of pics of DD5's bday cake. DD5 went to BBB for a makeover and then we had lunch at the castle. It was a long wait but well worth it. This cake was so good - I don't think I've had a cake made that has tasted this good. I had 2 pieces for breakfast the next morning - the cake wouldn't fit in the fridge - someone had to eat some!!!:goodvibes

Sir Scott had Princess Jamie cut the first slice.

And a big slice it was!

For anyone wondering this was an 8" all chocolate w/edible image. It wasn't too chocolately either - I was worried about it being too much but it was absolutely delicious!

My family didn't think it was tooth numbing sweet. We really enjoyed it! It is sweet but not like gross sugar whipped icing from a supermarket sweet...

That's really pretty! I think DD would love something like that. How much was it?

It was $33 (25 for the cake & 8 for the image) w/tax & 18% gratuity I think the total was $41.40. When I called CRT they did not take any cc info. I rec'd the bill after our lunch. They also boxed the cake back up for me and kept it at the castle until we were ready to leave the MK we just stopped by and picked it up. They were all very nice!

DH and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniv. by going out to a kidfree dinner at Narcoossees last week. The GF bakery was awesome, they made us a yellow cake with choc mousse filling and dark choc icing, flowers and writing. The cake was great, just what I wanted! DH didn't know anything about it, so it was a real treat for him, it is his favorite kind of cake. They did a great job and were so friendly and helpful!

subscribing, need info. for my birthday and 25th anniversary for next year
