Does anyone know if you can order a Cinderella Castle Cake (mini) if dining at GF Cafe'? I know you can do it for Narcoossee's. But just wondering if GF Cafe' is on the list, too? Thanks popcorn::

Does anyone know what kind of cakes are offered at le Cellier?? I am celebrating my b-day while we are there but my DBF told me to just plan everything including any cakes...guess the surprise element is out of the question. Anyway, what do they offer that is small since it's only the two of us?

For just two people I'd just order the podium cake. I think they are about 6" and cost under $15 and can be ordered when you check in. I believe you could also pre order. You'll have cake left over, so it would be nice if you were heading back to the room it put it in the fridge. If it were me, I'd just skip the cake at WDW and do one at home with friends and family either before or after the trip. The restaurants offer some unique desserts they you may want to enjoy while there. We celebrated my nephew's bday, turned 6, and I considered a cake. However, he got a cup cake at Chef Mickey's and all he ate was the icing and he was very, very happy. I was tempted to do the podium cake at a few places, but glad I didn't because we either had a great dessert from the menu or weren't going back to the room for hours. There were just 3 in our party.

Looking at the photos in this thread can really get you in trouble!...lol

I love the castle cake and we are considering ordering it to celebrate a birthday while there, however, being newly diagnosed with diabetes I am restricted! It was a wake up call for all three of us and we are all trying to eat healthy now! Can any cakes be requested that are made with a sweetener like Splenda (that can be used for baking)? I did not know if anyone else had tried to order such a thing before? I absolutely LOVE the little castle cake, it is so cute!

I ordered a cake for our DD's B-day. It was just the 3 of us so i opted for the 8" which was $25 w/ a Princess transfer for $8. I opted for the chocolate cake since it's DD favorite. I thought we could bring it back to the room and snack on it for the rest of the trip. here's my suggestion if your going to order this cake w/ the transfer go ahead nad order one of the 10" ones that's specially made for only $7 more. Our cake was awful. we actually ordered dessert instead of eating it. I also had a 6" ordered for our Ann dinner @ Coral Reef later in the week. When I waiter brought it out we asked for dessert. He nicely boxed it up for us and we threw it in the garbage outside. It was also a chocolate cake.
On the other hand we did have a vanilla one @ the HDDR that was good.
Just my 2 cents. I will order a specially made cake next year.

After reading through this thread I called the cake hotline to order a cake for DS's 40th birthday next saturday. We will be staying at CSR and dining at San Angel Inn at Epcot. The lady I just spoke with told me that I cannot get a cake delivered to a moderate resort nor can I have one at the restaurant except for the 6" cakes that they have frozen. She said to her knowledge no restaurants allow cake deliveries but not to quote her on that. :confused3 Right now I am really upset. Should I call back and speak with someone else or am I getting this all wrong?

A lady from the San Angel Inn called me back and said that the Epcot restaurants no longer accept third party cake orders. All they offer is the 6" pre-made cakes for $12.95. I don't understand this at all. It doesn't seem to coincide with all that I have read on this thread. She told me to call CSR directly. When I did someone gave me a different number to call but no one answered there. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Ok this may be a little off topic but kind of related.... I was wondering if I should order a birthday cake for my DH for our upcoming trip. His birthday is January 25th and we will be there the 11th-18th. I know that it can be a touchy subject about celebrating when its not your actual birthday BUT, we NEVER do anything for his birthday because we "just got back from Disney" I wasn't going to get him a birthday button and go all out. I thought just a cake to celebrate with our friends and family. Let me know what you think. Thanks!!

I was there 3 weeks ago and had a cake delivered @ Coral Reef. I would call and talk w/ someone else.

I think that would be wonderful, go for it! :teeth:

Do you folks call the restaurants directly? When I use the prompts on the cake hotline (page 1) I keep being told that you cannot order cakes to be delivered to any Epcot eateries or certain resorts. One lady said you can only pre-order wedding cakes for the GF not birthday cakes. I called the number I was given at CSR and a nice young man told me his mother gets really good cakes at the walmart bakery nearby. Has anyone here ever encountered problems like this? I think I'll just give up or maybe try the walmart if time permits. LoL

I'm so excited to have found this thread, as DH and I will be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary at DW in November/December.

I've read a few things about mini replicas of wedding cakes being possible. Can anyone give or point me toward some more info on this?

We are staying at WL and dining at AP and Narcossee's as of now.

Thanks so much,
M :)

We had a frozen 6inch podium cake at Garden Grill. It wasnt bad and it fit the bill.

We did a white cake with white choc icing for our illuminations cruise. Cost was $25 and I ordered it from the beach club. It had black berries, raspberrys and strawberrys on it. It was pretty good!

We had a nice cake made from the GF for a lunch at the GFC. I posted pics of it in Sept. It was 85.00 I think. We had a white chocolate topper of Mickey and Minnie, with a marble cake with strawberry mousse filling and white fondant with silver mickey heads.

Hi Everyone!!

Just back from our DD's wonderful 16th birthday celebration. Her cake was definitely the highlight of her party!!

It was SO beautiful, and tasted AMAZING!! It was chocolate cake with a Bailey's mousse filling and buttercream covered with fondant.

Of course they took the fondant off when they served the cake, but I tasted it later in the room and it actually tasted really good!

It was made by the GF Bakery, and the total cost was $705.00.

I hope to have some clearer more detailed pictures from our photographer in a few weeks.

We also had a cake for my DS who's birthday is one week from DD's!!

His cake was also made by the GF bakery. It was chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse filling , and chocolate buttercream, and had a white chocolate Donald Duck on top. Total cost for this cake was $101.00.

I'll post a picture of it as soon as I get it uploaded.

Im sorry...but did you say 705.00...as in seven hundred dollars??? Will you adopt me?? :cool1:

YEP!:rotfl:

It took a little while for that one to sink in for me as well!

We were having a big Sweet 16 dinner party for her, so that's why we went all out with the cake. That's definitely NOT something we would do for a typical birthday.

The 16th birthday cake is beautiful! How many people did you have at the party?

We had 17 people there. Lots of left over cake! I took little cake boxes with us, and boxed up the left overs for people to take back to their room and enjoy later.
