I knew there was a recent price increase, but $30 for an edible image ! Insane ! I asked when that took effect and she said it's always been that way -- not!

Just needed to vent. I went ahead and ordered it, but may cancel the edible image.

Call back and see if you get someone else - maybe they made a misktake - hopefully. $30 is ridiculous!

We will be celebrating anniversary 9/27 and I have thought about cakes-we have Brown Derby for dinner at 5pm. I thought another option would be to order the Edible Arrangements Disney fruits. They have the choc strawberries and other fruits we could use for breakfast, too.
Has anyone tried them before?

I have ordered from Edible Arrangements here at home (Detroit area) and they are fantastic! So good that I ordered one to be delivered to our hotel during our trip to Disney World next week!

Their website shows most of the designs available and you can order from (I think) 2 of their stores to be delivered to Disney World. Check it out online and then you can call one of the stores too so you can know for sure what they can do for you to be delivered to a restaurant on property.

I hope this helps!

Thanks -- I will.

I wasn't expecting to get an actual person. I spoke to Darlene at the Poly private dining. Wouldn't you know -- I just called the cake hotline and followed the prompts -- guess who answered ?? Darlene. I will call back later and hopefully speak to someone else.

I am not a very happy person right now!!!!! Now I know that I have seen many people on here that have gotten cakes with fondant from the Beach/Yacht Club. I just called to order a Halloween themed cake thru the Beach Club and they told me that they only use fondant on wedding cakes and if I reaallllllly wanted it, it would be VERY PRICEY!!!!!!!!!!! WTH???:confused3 I am so tired of the inconsistencies of Disney!!!!!!!! :headache:  Drives me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!:sad2:

Call back and ask for a supervisor - sometimes the people answering the calls aren't always correct. Tell them you would like a custom cake.

Is it possible to order a mini castle cake from Boardwalk & have it served at any restaurant? We are going to be celebrating our neice's 6th birthday at Cape May.

I think that's my main issue -- they seem to vary from hotel to hotel. I called the GF bakery and I was told they don't do edible images there??

I just got off the phone with Poly Dining and was told the same thing, $30!! I asked for a 10" cake with a pic of stitch as Elvis on top. Yes, I got Darlene too!! I went ahead and ordered, I was so shocked I wasn't sure what to say except "really????" Please let me know if you get any ohter info, but $75 seems just ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may have selective memory - I'm pretty sure this was the $25 cake - that I had only the choice of chocolate or vanilla... and it was the 8" cake... (but it was before the price increase, so not sure if this size cake is now more... but it was the simple cake, and it was delicious - we had it at Crystal Palace - so I was surprised at how good it tasted after having one the year or two before at the Grand FLoridian...)

ETA - I'm betting this is now $32, and yes, it was large enough that we had leftovers for a couple of days, CP gave us a box and offered to keep it in their fridge while we finished touring, we declined, we were too tired!!

Thanks very much this would be perfect

The edible image and fondant seem to be a contradiction. Why would you want the fondant on your cake, if you're going to cover it with an edible image? Unless you really like the taste of it, the fondant is usually more of a choice because of the specific design of your cake. If you just want an edible image, then you really don't want to pay the extra $20 for the fondant. IMO.

I guess I should have said "edible decorations". I told them that I did not want the image laid on top of the cake..I wanted something added to the top of the cake.

Good luck with your cake! Your children are beautiful :)

That sounds better! Good luck. When i orderd our cake in may from 1900 Park Fare, i also stated i didn't want the edible image, i wanted basically the painted piece of chocolate, like they do in the mickey and minnie heart image. Well what we got was the edible image shape cut out, and placed NEXT to the cake :scared1: It was nothing more than a piece of edible paper! Man i was angry!:headache:
