*OFFICIAL* BCV incentives

NY is not approved. My guide told me she couldn't even give me info over the phone. I'll have to wait 2 more long weeks til I'm there!!!

Regarding the free trip,

If for example you get the 7day + 3 day, you can split the 7 days and 3 days into two vacations OR you can use them consecutively. But you cannot break up the 7 day part. If you buy 310 points or more, you get a 7/5 option; again, you cannot split the 7 days or the 5 days, but you can do a 7 day and a 5 day.

Also, the trips ARE transferable to others. What a gift!

We are thinking of taking the free trip and staying at the Poly. Does that seem like a good choice. We have a 3 yearold.

Thanks for posting this. We will be buying BCV in 2 more weeks on our next trip! It's nice to know a few details and not go in knowing nothing!

I think that is my concern. I am paying for the points now and paying dues on them now, but I cannot even begin making a reservation at BCV until August. I realize I could use the points to make a reservation someplace else, but it seems like if I buy them at BCV today, I should be able to make a reservation today.

I think that's why they are giving you the $5 discount or free nights stays to make up for buying early. Unlike Magical Beginnings, you are not selling points back, you get to keep them all.

You will be able to make a BCV reservation when they start taking reservations in March. It seems like it would have made more sense saleswise to allow reservations at the same time they starting selling.

I'm not sure about using the points at another DVC resort for a stay before August. It seems like it would tip the system since there are not rooms open at BCV until August for people from other resorts to trade into.

I realize I could use the points to make a reservation someplace else,

This is all a little hard to grasp, but I do not think that you could make a reservation someplace else until they actually start taking BCV reservations. In other words, I don't think you could buy today and make a reservation at VWL for next week. In fact, I wonder whether reservations at other resorts would have to be for after August but could be made starting in March? This is the complicated part....when can these points start to be used. There is something funky and that's what the "incentive" is all about.

Question on the incentives - Do they take back part of the first year's points in exchange for the $5/point discount or free nights?

wdw1972... No you don't have to sell back any points to get the $5 discount ppt.

PamOKW... My understanding is that your BCV points could not be used until the resort is acutally open projected August 1st, but you could actually make a reservation prior to that for arrivals after the August 1st opening anywhere following the 11/7 month window. With the exception of BCV which reservations will begin in March. I may be way off base, but that was my understanding.

Thanks Terry -- I asked you the same question on another thread here. Sorry.

That's the way I understand it as well. You can start making reservations anywhere beginning in March for stays that begin after August 1. So, in effect you are paying for points that can't be used during March-July this year. In return, they "give" you a trip that could be used during this time period but also the added bonus of actually giving you longer to use it or cash at $5 per point. This sounds fair and eliminates the negative of buying before you are able to use the points. My guess is that this incentive will end as the actual opening date approaches....probably in June when they are also rumored to be raising the price.

I'm a little slow this afternoon, so let me ask this and you can correct me.

I have an October use year. If I would buy an add on or additonal contract at VB, HH, or WL (if available) in the next couple of months, wouldn't I get October 2001 points and then get October 2002 points--basically double points? I could then sell back some using MB for $10 per point and still have then ones coming in October 2002?

If I buy an add on or separate contract at BC, I would only get points for October 2002--but could get a credit for $5 per point if I buy over 100.

Just wanted to make sure I got this right--unfortunately I think we were looking at an add on less than 100 points, so I don't think the incentive at BC will help us out.

Will there be standard and preferred views at BCV or just one view, as far as points, like VWL?

I've read in a couple posts that Vero and HH are taking $10 off per point. Do you have to sell back your first year points for that? Or is it like the offer at BCV where you still get to keep the points? We were just debating this morning between Vero and BCV. This might tip the scale.

We just joined VWL & our guide told us that it is a 10.00 buy back at HH also. You will loose your first years points if you do the 10.00 buy back.

Since NY is not approved for BCV sales yet, and we are not going back to WDW until Dec, could we purchase BCV when we stay at HH in April if NY is still not approved yet ?? Thanks for the help >

... and if NY'ers can not even get any info until NY is approved how will we know when a certian month becomes available for sale? Or are all of the use years available for sale now??

We have an Oct. use year and will be intrested in purchasing another contract at BCV but we don't have a trip planned this year. :( We could however plan a long weekend to zip down and buy. Then again, HH sounds like a plan as we will be in Myrtle Beach in April - we can do a road trip :jester:

OK, my use year is Feb. So I would get 2002 points if I bought now...right? Another poster (I think Sprude??) posted something about extra points for those in the first few months of the year. I guess I don't understand. I am confused? Also, we don't plan on going until December. Which option is the best value? The $5 off or the free stay? What's your opinion? Thanks!

This may be a stupid question...but, does anyone know if you also get the year's free points PLUS the $5 off or hotel stays?
