*******Official August 2017 Countdown Thread ~ Feeling hot, hot, hot!!!******

Please add me! We are going to be in a 2 bedroom villa at SSR (woot - we normally stay at the Values) from 8/13 - 8/27 with a party of 7 (or maybe 9 if the grandparents join us!). Very excited - its my crew of 2 adults and DD16 and DS14 AND we have invited my brother, SIL, and DNiece3.5 to join us!

This trip will be all about my precious niece and I've been dreaming of this since they announced the pregnancy. I waited until my kids were 8/9 for their "once in a lifetime" trip (that immediately turned into an annual thing) and missed out on being at Disney with a little one. Plus, they live in the UK and we live in Canada and so we see each other very rarely.

I asked for 14 nights onsite (Good thing we all get along!) so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. We booked through the UK and have free DDP :)

Anyone heard anything about ROL dining packages for August yet? That's the only thing I'm really looking to switch - my TH breakfast to TH breakfast ROL pkg. Still haven't seen Cape May online, but after getting strawberry soup at Palo on DCL this past week, I'm perfectly content with 1900 Park Fare :)

Nothing yet. I am planning on a ROL pkg brunch at Tusker House. I didn't book anything yet though as my backup is Yak &Yeti with DH's Landrys card (so no need for an ADR).

Hi - I am trying to get a better idea about the weather in late August and daily rains... is the daily rain during specific period like 3pm to 5pm? Could someone help me? I am trying to work on Dinner reservations and come up with a schedule that makes sense.

Honestly it's not that predictable. 2 years ago, it was a veritable monsoon every day. We walked around the Poly in water nearly up to our knees. Still had a blast that trip but it was VERY rainy! Last year, I think it rained twice the entire 10 days we were there.

I try to book something in the late afternoon, early evening, just to get out of the heat...so it's a great plan!

Duly noted. That is 2 families, plus mine. 2 to 3 more will be perfect. At this point, I think it is a pretty good probability that I will get enough to put together a share.
Really excited about the opportunity of a share. Hope you get some more families!

On Thursday, log on a few minutes early, about 5:45 AM EST. Be sure that you are logged on to your account, have a credit card on file (this will save time later), and go to the page of your most challenging reservation to get. When the clock hits 6AM, refresh your page and the reservations will open to you.

Just updated my card info and will follow your thorough instructions in the morning :-) My first major problem would've been that I thought my 180 was Thursday and its TOMORROW!!! Will try for BOG, Ohana, Teppan Edo, Coral Reef, 50's Prime Time. I think that is a good order to go in, no?

Sounds like a good plan. The only ones u have to be concerned with is BOG and Ohana (and even these shouldnt book up immediately). The rest should be fine even a few weeks from now.

We will. It is still early, not everyone is thinking about photos just yet. Even with just 3 families, it brings the cost down to $50 each, so it would still be worth doing as is, but I don't think we will have any problem finding another family or two to participate.

Soon, I will pass along a link to a facebook group for all interested parties to join. That will give us a place to go through the details, make sure everyone knows what is involved, etc.

Hello all, officially joining in. Just booked a week at POR (Royal Room) for mine and DD10's birthday week! We will be doing ALL the princess things this week, and leaving ODS at home. (I owe DD a 1:1 trip as I took DS alone several years ago when DD was a baby). We did just go this past November, all of us where we did EMM, MVMCP, etc. etc., so I'm looking forward to this trip being a lot more laid back as it will be too hot to be running around crazy, plus DD doesn't do the big thrill rides, so won't have to worry about using our FPs on or rushing over to the most popular rides (i.e., all the mountains). We will do lots of character hunting (which ODS has no interest in), and just a lot of meandering around, taking it all in. it's tough to go with both of them because they are complete opposites so there's a lot of DS waiting around while DD goes on the "baby rides" - Dumbo, Carousel, or waits to meet a character, and then lots of DD waiting around while DS goes on Space Mtn, Mine Coaster, etc. SO.....all that to say -- I am looking forward to this trip!!!

ADRs all made, just waiting for ROL dining to be released for that week.

I'm super excited about staying POR Magnolia Bend section. My sister stayed in the Alligator Bayou section and we went to visit one day, and I was not impressed at all, it actually made me never want to stay at POR at all, but looking at pics of the Mansions section, it looks really nice!

Our dates ar 8/19-8/25.

Followed your plan and got everything! Had to modify to a BOG lunch instead of dinner, but I'll keep trying. Yay!

Add me to the mix! We're going in August for our Wedding (Epcot) and Disneymoon! We're doing a split stay at CSR Aug. 16-19, Poly Aug. 19-22, and off-site Aug. 22-26.

Just scored a 7:35 AM Bon Vonage breakfast for 8/15! Had an 8:15 AM but wanted to make sure we hit RD for Epcot that day!

Made my ADRs today. Didn't get BOG dinner on date I wanted, so had to move some things around and booked it for our last evening there. We have done lunch a couple of times and really love it, but wanted the chance to see Beast. Now trying to decide between Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace for late lunch or early dinner for our original MK day.

So do we have any idea when they will extend the RoL dining into August?
sounds like the packages aren't being released until 6-8 weeks ahead of time? I have a Tusker house PPO (well as of now until hours update:rolleyes1) breakfast scheduled that I am hoping to convert to RoL package when they are finally released!

Many thanks to all who have expressed interest in the memory maker share. My share group is full at this time, and we will not be able to accept any more members.

I think they've released through the end of June so we should be good in the next release.....whenever that is.
