I don't believe I ever introduced myself....
My name is Tasha. I was a member of Team August 2012 and 2013. My children and I have been visiting WDW the last two weeks of August since 2007. Our favorite resort is Port Orleans.
This year we have several extended family members joining us the first week of our trip. We have 17 people ranging from ages 60 down to 7. 6 rooms at Port Orleans (2 at riverside and 3 at FQ). Our dates are tentatively 8/18-9/2. I will have more concrete dates once I purchase airfare.
I am sooo excited as many of my extended family are 1st timers and willing to let me do most of the planning. We have had two family meetings so far and have set down some ground rules. Everyone understands that even though we want to enjoy some time together, we realize that we will have to seperate at times. We will have a daily ADR together (most days) and we will most likely be in the same parks each day. Other then that, each family will be free to do as they please. One concern I have is FP+, since the newbies have no idea what to pick and are leaning on my experience, I am curious to see how that will play out.
Maybe at the next meeting (which is before the 60 day window) I can get an idea of some must do's so that I can at least help steer them in the right direction.

then to planning and then hatching a plot (insert- Rick Ricardo saying "Lucy what did you do") Well I convinced DBIL's to go to Universal for 2 days, one of them were dead set against it...at first, but then my other DBIL ratted out the first DBIL and said he was looking at the Universal site 
(insert evil Queenie laugh) I knew I had him then! He wanted to just take away 2 Disney days, but I was like "Oh No you don't" 
...because they were so generous to give me my bucket list resort (always dreamed about waking up to animals outside my window, but the sticker shock of a family of 5 staying savannah view was just not in my budget) sorry, to digress...well I told them I would pay for the Universal stretch of our trip. 
) but we have 3 days at Fort Wilderness!!! Aug. 24th- Aug. 27th. Its a surprise for my girls. I can't wait to drive into the Fort when they really think we are heading home.
We did that our 1st trip and it made a great memory
I dont' know how it took me so long to find this thread! I looked for an August 2014 thread so long ago and only found one, much less active one!
But hi! My guy and I went on our first August trip together last year! I followed along with the August 2013 thread a bit but only spoke up a few times. We went the second to last week of August last year for 5 days and had an awesome time. This year, we'll be doing the 24th-31st for 8 days at the Poly and I'm so excited!! I have made my peace with the fact that a lot of it will be under construction. The fact that we'll be so close to MK is a huge part of the draw for me for staying at the Poly. They have pushed the pool closure back to August, and while we aren't pool people and I'm not really bothered by it, I wouldn't be made if they pushed the construction back a month or two
We hope to do a day at Universal as well. I'm so excited for Diagon Ally!!
I would spend the day with the Tremaines or Chip and Dale. I think the Tremaines are a riot and Chip and Dale just seem like a good time no matter what

Tues, 19-AK/AM- Yak n Yetti , Eve? might just have an early night
Wed, 20-MK AM and PM Park Faire Dinner
Thurs, 21 Epcot AM Teppan Edo and AK eve?
Fri, 22, HS am and Chef Mickeys (love seeing the mouse our last night, then a late night at MK for sure!
Sat, 23 (late flight) enjoy pool and resort
This trip because there will be no FP's saved with the stinking new FP+
I think we will be getting hoppers and enjoy other parks at night. The last 2 trips have been off site for our family and we missed the Free Dining of August. Since we are going to be guests of my dear DBIL's we are not paying for hotel so we decided to splurge and pay for the dining plan. In addition, because my Dbil's booked only 7 days...I got to thinking
So excited for our trip in August, last trip was July and I HATED the crowds of that trip. Hated the tour groups even more
Been to Disney in August 4 times this will be the 5th August trip.

Hi All, I'd love to join your group! Our cast of characters is: me, DH, DD8 (turns 9 in Aug.) and DD6. We have 2 August trips under our belts- 2010 and 2012. We loved them both! This year I planned a non-Disney trip so we could visit Sea World, Discovery Cove etc. We arrive in FL Aug. 17th-24th. Well... I tried to plan a non-Disney trip, but really how could we be so close and NOT go?? I'm sure some of you can relate. I moved things around in the budget (now we are driving down
) I was up dark and early and breezed through my 7 reservations in about 10 minutes
