That is so beautiful!! I wish we had gotten that much. We did get snow, just not enough to cover the grass.

You know what's funny? When I got up that day, looked outside, and saw that Mother Nature had let loose on us yet again, my first thought was.....letthewookiewin would love this :rotfl: . No kidding.

Question fort hoses of you who have done your ADR's already. My date isn't for another couple of weeks, but I don't see any reminder in MDE like there used to be on the old website. Did anyone see a reminder at some state in MDE? Thanks!

The only thing I really noticed, is when I'd log in just to play around on MDE, when I'd click on each individual day I'd be given the options of: Make FP+ reservations, Make dining reservations, and something else I can't remember off the top of my head.
Next to the FP+ button, there is a little picture of a lock next to it showing I couldn't do it yet, and under the dining button there was a date showing when that day would open up. For example, when I'd click on the last day of my vacation, it had Feb 6, 2014 under it, and that was my 180 day mark.

I also got a magnet in the mail with my Mickey flash drive that had my dates on it, so that's on my refrigerator.

I got an email from Disney yesterday, too, saying that it was time to make my dining reservations...but I got it 3 hours after I'd already made them, lol!

Otherwise, I didn't notice a specific reminder, but I wasn't really looking for one either.

You don't get to choose for dinner. If you have a preference tell them when you check in and they "may" be able to accommodate you.
I requested the West Wing last year as we really wanted to sit there. We did wait longer for our table as the room is smaller - probably about 30 to 40 minutes but it was worth it to us! I would not request again though.

Okay, thanks. That makes sense. I was going to request the West Wing because I'll be there with 2 boys who might think the rest of the castle is a little girly, but I'm guessing not enough to want to wait another 40 minutes.

Can you walk around the rest of the rooms?

Hello to all planning for August. We will be at ASSports 8/22-8/29 for our 2nd trip to WDW!! My troop includes Myself(35) DH(35) DS(13) DS(17) yet the oldest will be 18 in Sept so this is a last trip with my 2 "boys" before one is a man :-/ I was on Dis for my planning last year n gained alot of useful knowledge while enjoying the planning phase with newfound friends yet IPhone death knocked me off for awhile :( I've had to reregister due to my forgetful self. Ok sorry for long post lol just super excited to be back n find the Aug 2014 thread :))) I've got some reading to do so I know who else is going to :))

QOTD:

Are you the type of family that....

- Sets a budget and religiously sticks to it to the end?

- Sets an initial budget, but ends up adding in "extras" along the way?

- Has a budget before your trip, but throws it out the window once you arrive?

- Says "Budget? What budget?" :rotfl:

I really would. One of these days, I'm going to take my boys some where that has snow like in your pictures.

It depends on what the budget is for. The budget for the package part of the trip, the DH sets that budget. Then I try and stretch it as much as I can, and see how much I can get him to add to it, to get what I want. If it is the spending money budget, my DH sets the budget and we strictly stick to it. Then again, we kind of have to, since my DH doesn't believe in credits cards and if we go over the budget he set (and saved up) then we might not have the money for gas, hotel, and food for the way home.

Just waiting on confirmation from work that Im good for AUG. 27-31...Can't wait to book!!:goodvibes

When its just me and my GF going, im pretty much in between "adding extras" and "throwing it out the window." We plan a little but once we get to wdw, we mostly do everything on the fly. :cool1:

We are definitely #2....set an initial budget, then add in extras before we travel. DH has overtime opportunities on a fairly regular basis (sometimes they are mandatory) so when those extra large paycheques come in, sometimes our vacation plans get a boost.

If I ever win the lottery, I'm doing a budget-less trip. Oh, what fun that would be!! ::yes::

First visit I was a SAHM tho now momma has a business lol Translates to strict budget on first who knows this August ;-) (not that we'll go insane yet dad is the pincher here)

Thanks a lot, I'll have a look. Since I am in Canada I don't get the nice pre-trip goodies !

We never set a budget once we leave. But we've got free dining so the food is taken care of. :thumbsup2 We really don't buy souvenirs, or do a lot of extras that cost money so we don't spend too much anyways.

Yeah for ADR day! We are doing universal from 8/1 to 8/5 then hopping over the CSR until 8/7. First Universal trip, but I could not be that close to WDW and not get to ride the new Mine Train at MK!! I love it when the plans start to take shape! Now to spend 120 days obsessing over FP+! We went 12/30 to 1/3/14 and loved FP+!

You can walk around the rest of the rooms. There are cool picture and the rose in the west wing that is a good photo op. For what it's worth my boys loved the west wing - dark and great decor. The wait really wasn't too bad later in the day when the heat is down.

My wife has set a very strict budget (that I constantly blow behind her back!) :lmao: We will likely splurge some once we arrive as well....but it makes her feel better to think we are only going to spend X amount! ;)

We're they second type. My girls are given 'allowance' throughout the year before the trip that is intended for them to use as their spending money while at Disney. We try to make it even though this year dd13 has been babysitting the Neighbors kids and making her own money so she's got a great stash lol. Ideally we don't give them extra but buy them one or two souvenirs and the rest is up to them, for us though we tend to buy what we like best but try not to go overboard, no real budget there though lol.

I take a certain amount of money so I don't have to question buying anything I want but still end up talking myself out of most things I want to buy. This year my goal is to just go for it! :)
