QOTD: have you been to universal/IOA before? How many times?
I have been twice. Once when I was really little and they dragged me on the ET ride despite how terrified I am of him. I closed my eyes and covered my ears and still to this day have to sleep with my feet full covered and tucked in because I just picture him coming up the end of my bed like he does out of the basket.

The second time was a couple years ago and it was such a blast. I have a friend who works there and she was kind enough to get us all front of the line passes. This year we are going for one day. Diagon alley will be the priority and once I've had my fill, well go check out Springfield and see if we can catch any other rides.

Anyone have any good recommendations about getting to and from universal? Is the mears shuttle the preferred method for those of us not renting a car?

So I think we might be taking the auto train August 5th. I get to make My ADR's Saturday!! I'm so excited

So Here is my Schedule

Let me know what you think...

August 8th MK Day
Crystal Palace Breakfast before park opening (hopefully)

August 9th AK Day

Well hello August 2014 thread! We usually go in the fall, but summer, here we come! We know it'll be HOT, but we'll be at Disney World, so WHO CARES! August 22-31 here we come!:thumbsup2

Today was my ADR day, and after a tease yesterday (my dates were already showing up as open for reservations...just a glitch :( ) I was up dark and early and breezed through my 7 reservations in about 10 minutes :yay:

I got everything we wanted at the times we wanted, so I'm declaring victory.!

Congratulations! That's certainly a victory! Which ADRs did you book? I'm thinking about trying for BOG just to see the inside. It's still difficult to get I hear.

Yay! :cool1: Discovery Cove is AMAZING! ::yes:: Have you been there before? Or is this a first visit?

We also adore SeaWorld...this will be our first time visiting in the summer, though (all others have been winter visits). We're in town the same dates as you (ours are August 17th to 31st) so maybe we'll see you there ;) . Are you also planning on going to Aquatica? (free with your DC admission) Its a fabulous waterpark....Roa's Rapids is da bomb :thumbsup2 .

When you have your DC day confirmed, pop over to the Roll Call thread on the SeaWorld board and I'll add to you our list:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3214125

This is our first visit. We've only done Disney before-amazing trips and lots of fun to plan but this will be a bit different. We did get the free admission with the DC ticket so yes, we will enjoy Sea World at a leisurely pace and spend time at Aquatica. It seems like such a low key vacation I'm a little worried that the 3 days of Disney we sneak on at the back end will be utterly hectic. lol
Of course that could be fun too!

We have never been. We have been waiting until my daughter is tall enough to ride everything so we'll probably go next year. We can't wait to check out the Wizarding world of Harry Potter!!!!

Now what do I do for the next 120 days until FP+ reservations are open?? LOL!!

Now you can tweak them and second guess your choices until you are driven to madness. :rotfl2: Well, that's what I do anyways. :upsidedow

Thanks!!

We have an 8:00am Ohana breakfast, Via Napoli dinner, Sci Fi lunch, Tusker House "brunch" at 10:30, Ohana dinner, 8:00am Crystal Palace and early dinner at BOG.

I used specific times instead of choosing the breakfast, lunch, or dinner options on the reservation page, and I got everything I wanted as far as time slots. I booked BOG for dinner on our last night of the trip and there were all kinds of times available. I did make the reservations for it and CP first, just in case. We plan to have lunch there to see inside, but I really want to see the Beast!!

I mean, um...my kids want to see the Beast. Yeah, that's it...my kids want to...:rolleyes1

Yeah , my "kids" want to see the beast too. :lmao:

Ugh...I am on the edge of my seat waiting for our ADR date (Monday!!!)...so in the meantime I am trying to put together some goodie bags for the kiddos (9,13, &16). Anyone else planning on doing this? So far I've ordered some pretty cool water bottles that were on sale at TDS for $7 and I also bought their ponchos since they were on sale for $5. I'm thinking I'll also pack the bags with some cool mist fans, a new Disney tee, a few new pins for trading, and maybe a beach towel as well as some Disney snacks. Oh yeah, and a roll of quarters each for the arcade. Anyone have any other ideas? I could go crazy here, really....I am so excited! :cool1:

I am thinking of doing something like this for DD. We are surprising her with this trip so I was thinking of giving her the goodie bag in the car (after she finds out) or maybe at the hotel like Tinkerbell left it for her. Not sure yet.
I am also thinking of surprising her with a hard bound photo book of pics of her with the characters from last year and she could use it to get their autographs this year. I think she will love it!

That's a great idea!! She will love that!!! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Just checking in to see how people are doing making their ADRs! I get to make mine on Sunday morning. I am so excited! Love reading about how people did with getting the times they want. Happy planning!

Universal twice- many many years ago before there was even IOA. I remember loving the Back to the Future ride and the Jetsons ride.

ADR day is a week from Saturday! Already made a little change to our plan. I'm excited to have the meal plan and be trying several new restaurants!

I went online through MDE to book mine and there was plenty of availability for everything I wanted. Even BOG!

Speaking of BOG, how do you choose which dining room you want? I was expecting it to be part of the reservation process.

Nope, definitely not the only one snowed in. This is my front yard:

And my back yard:

I hate winter  .

That is so beautiful!! I wish we had gotten that much. We did get snow, just not enough to cover the grass.

I have never been to Universal. The closest I have been to it, was driving by it once.

You don't get to choose for dinner. If you have a preference tell them when you check in and they "may" be able to accommodate you.

I requested the West Wing last year as we really wanted to sit there. We did wait longer for our table as the room is smaller - probably about 30 to 40 minutes but it was worth it to us! I would not request again though.
