QOTD What are your 3 picks for Fastpass +?

MK: Space, Big Thunder, ...probably Peter Pan, maybe HM or Pooh

Epcot: Soarin, Mission Space.
No 3rd because of the tiers. I'd do TT, Soarin, Maelstrom if they didn't have the tiers.

Studios: TSMM, ToT, Star Tours
I would have replaced ST with RnRC if we weren't limited

AK: Expedition Everest, Safari, Dinosaur

I went prior to the tiered system in November and loved FP+. We shall see how it goes in August.

**I realize my choices may seem odd! We have a 4 & 6 year old who don't do many rides and DH and I don't really switch off too much! Thinking of making choices which will just save us the most time or which the KIDS really want to do! Oh...and if they add Elsa/Anna meet and greet that will take top priority!

Ohmygoodness, it is so hard to pick! We have been lucky to have tried many of the character meals. We all love the Tusker House Breakfast but my favorite is 1900 Park Fare, because of some special Pixie Dust. Here's the story:

[Sidebar, preface: we took each of my 3 DDs by themselves for their first visit, the summer before 1st grade. This way we could focus on them and follow their lead, without making the oldest wait until the youngest was old enough, and avoiding arguments among the siblings. Plus this way DH and I got to go three times instead of just one first visit for all, LOL!]

The year we took my middle DD by herself (she was five) we had a reservation for the very first dinner time at Park Fare. I can't remember why we wanted that time, but that's how it worked out. The doors to the dining room weren't even open yet, so we had checked in and were waiting in that little "lobby" where they meet the Fairy Godmother (do they still do this?) and get photos taken. The manager was greeting the guests as we waited for the restaurant to open, and she chose my DD to do a little ceremony thing to officially open the dining room for the evening ("introducing Princess Rebecca of the Kingdom of New York, here on a royal mission to visit Cinderella...."). They open the French doors and there are two loooooong lines of the waiters and waitresses, down which path she was led to our table, hand in hand with Cinderella and Prince Charming! It was amazing. She was crying because she was so nervous and surprised. What a special moment for her, and she got SO much attention from everyone during the meal. It was fantastic.

After the trip we of course told my other girls about it, and my youngest decided she wanted to do the same thing when we took her for her trip. So over the next two years she would sometimes mention this and DH and I would tell her that the chances of this being repeated were unbelievably remote, things at the restaurant could have changed, they might not do this every day, etc. You know where I'm going with this, right?!

Fast forward two years and we are on the trip with my youngest DD and had made an ADR at 1900 PF for the earliest dinner time, and would you believe it but she gets picked for the same thing!? I was amazed. Now SHE was fully prepared for this and there were no tears -- she just waltzed right on in there with Cindy and Charming like she had been anticipating this for years (as she had!). I am still in awe that that happened twice. I guess maybe not that big a deal, but for our family it was just amazing. Even now, my eldest (now 13) will sometimes wistfully mention that she didn't get to do this on her trip (we ate there, but not right when it was opening - who knew!?)! So this is a tip for any of you out there with little girls who might like to see if they could get a chance for this special honor. We loved it!

PS - I think I am going to add Ohana Breakfast to our list for this year, after reading everyone's posts! Sounds so great!

That is awesome!!! We had that happen to us at Chef Mickey's 2 years ago and the kids have never forgotten it! They were honestly a little sore when they didn't get picked last year and I fully expect in never to happen again! LOL!

Hi there-:mic:
I don't remember if I've introduced myself or not! *Blonde Moment*

Coming over from the May board. Had to postpone our trip! We will be going home August 9th-16th! It will be my 10th time at the world! For the second time I am bringing along my fiance and his twin 5 year old boys (Their first trip was when they were 2 1/2)! It will be our daughters' first trip and she will be 11 months during our stay! My mom will be coming along to help with the little ones. We will be staying in the Cars Suite. Very excited!

Nice to meet all of you!

QOTD What are your 3 picks for Fastpass +?

MK: SM, BTMRR, Splash...possibly Wishes instead of Space...
Epcot: Soarin...Test Track if we can get both...don't love the tiering
DHS: TSM, ToT and Star Tours....RnRC the 2nd day
AK: Safari, EE, Nemo show

Does anybody know if they are sending out vouchers this year? Last year we received vouchers with our package for mini golf, DisneyQuest, Planet Hollywood, etc. I just wondered if this was something they always do?

Yes, as long as you book a package with tickets and not just a room only you will get the vouchers with discounts.

I agree, this whole fast pass thing really doesn't sit well with me.. My last visit was 2011 and I planned park days adrs etc.. Now fast passes really make me feel so constricted..

Not sure of FP+ picks since I don't get the tiering. There was none of that last August plus there was double dipping soooo I'm pretty sure whatever it is will stink in comparison to last year lol. We also have little kids and will be utilizing most fast passes on little kid rides and in the evening since we do rope drop.

MK- evening Dumbo ride lol, Mine Train (have to have one for myself right?), mermaid or Princess Fairytale hall......ugh still not enough- last year MK had 4 choices

Ep - soarin or TT (depends on DS), journey (last year no line for this though so?!?!). Elsa and Anna if they are still here. SE is must do also but there was no line last year for this either.....

HS- TSMM, TSMM, TSMM (I wish, but quite honestly- the only reason we are not skipping the park). Hopefully Muppets will be open this year- kids will like that I think. Will probably use the rest on adult choices- RnR since didn't do last year

AK- chickened out of EE last year bc DH and I had to trade off and didn't want to go alone - have never been on it. This year we have relative coming so will probably try it. And maybe Kali River Rapids if DS will do it again- although there was also that mouse trap Dino looking coaster that DS was too short for last year. He might be big enough now. Oh and I guess the Safari too......guess there is more to do in AK than I've given credit for- was just so hot and our last day last year so it was kind of a blah experience.

Anyone else worried about the rainy weather yet? Lol.

We like free dining and booked a bounceback last year to stay at POFQ. I know all the arguments about not really fee, etc., but I like knowing most is paid and we like a relaxing table service every day in the heat. It "feels"like a deal LOL!

Lol I scrutinized planning last year to see if paying for the DP would be worth it- seemed like we would break about even for last year's trip so I didn't do it. Plus we have our car and like a brewery off property last year- we were shocked at how much food and beer we had for the price compared to a meal in WDW. But I just love the IDEA of the plan! And it would get me to book more ADRs I think bc like you said- would feel like a deal! Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards
