****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

Excellent idea on the Pin fanny pack. Ds is getting quite a collection and even though he only brings what he wants to trade in the parks for the day on his lanyard it does start to bug him after awhile. Also when it's hot it rubs on his neck and is weighed down and makes him uncomfortable. This time I think we'll bring enough for the trades he's looking for but keep it to a minimum and throw it in the park bag if needed.
It's a shame because he likes to carry around and show what he's collected so far but it's just not worth it in the heat. We'll save the Pin displaying for our February trip:)

I used a neck wallet I got from a conference. I have 1-2 others that have zips and pouches but I finally decided they weren't practical for holding pins. This one does a great job and then she has a spot for her KTTW and can carry it herself (occassionally). Initially I thought of just putting her pins on the strap of her cross body purse. But I like that on occassions that she doesn't want to carry her cross body purse, she can just wear this around her waist or as a cross-body by itself (the strap is long enough) I'm not worried about my son as his lanyard is long enough to wear cross body to distribute the weight. I couldn't find a lanyard long enough for my tall DD.

Some things I've done or plan to this weekend:
Clear SD card in both cameras (DSLR and P&S)

Charge camera batteries and portable DVD player battery

Scrub stroller (it's nasty after a soggy trip to the county fair a couple weeks ago)

Print schedules

Make sure all trip docs are in my folder

Updated music and charged kids' iPods

Make sure DS has his kindle fire loaded with games, books and charged

Stop mail

That's it. Getting down to the nitty gritty now :). Id clean the house this weekend, but we're dog sitting a slobbery dog and with 2 kids and 3 dogs, there's just no sense in doing a deep clean right now.

Hmm...I can wash my DDs purse - anyone know how to clean a satin bag? I don't put the schedules, etc on our cellphones until the day before/day off as I continue to make changes. I've resolved not to print the schedule this year and get used to using our smartphones.

I'm still panicky, but seeing everyone's to-do lists is helping a LOT!

Just had a minor panic attack. Looked at our reservations for Disney today online as we are considering doing the online check in (what would you advise?) and it said our flight leaving going home was scheduled for 12 AM  Why would I book a flight leaving at 12am? So freaked out briefly then looked on our email confirmation - turns out it is indeed for 12 but PM and out travel agent just put in the wrong time. Phew! Anyone know if we can change that directly through Disney or do we need our agent to do that? She is away so may not get done.

Last year, my TA put the wrong time for our departing ME. We just happened to be at the front desk a couple of days before our last day asking about something else and my DH decided to double check. We were NOT happy. Thank goodness we had no problems fixing the time/date. Needless to say, we switched TAs. This year, I've been double checking everything with my TA - the poor thing has received so many emails from me!!

To do list, great idea . .. . I think I'm a bit late though.

To Do:

Leave at 5:00 am TOMORROW morning

TODAY . . it's already 2:35 PM . . .
get car from shop (sure wish they would finish it)
Take car for alignment (kinda need to get it from the repair shop first)
Clean car inside and out
change oil
pack trunk
find some time to sleep before I leave in the morning
Make sandwiches for lunch and supper on the way down tomorrow

Bother, I seem to be very short on time, and very long on things left to get done.

So if my research is right, Pop doesnt have a coffee pot in the room. Please let me know if they do.
Anyway, originally we planned to bring our special 3 in 1 Vietnamese coffee, all we need is HOT water and wah lah... But now, no coffee pot means no hot water in the room.
So, here is the question. I can pack my Keurig (we have an extra) with us and bring K cups for the trips. The kids can have hot chocolate that way too.
Or should we rent the Keurig machine for $25 and order groceries.
We have plenty of space in our luggage so packing is not a problem.

Here is what I am planning to pack with us.
- Pop tart
- 2 dozens of Panera breads bagel (5 of us)
- Snack snack snack
- 2 Smucker PBJ box
- 2 boxes of K-cup , 2 can of condensed milk (yes, I do it Vietnamese style)

Plan to order from walmart

- 2 cases of water
- juices

what do you think? If I rent the Keurig, I might as well order groceries service. I think packing it with us will save us some $$.

I am a newbie like you but I say if you have an extra Keurig and room to pack it why waste 25 on a rental?! I vote packing it to save $$$ :cool1:

5 minutes left at work!!!!!!! Believe or not I was really productive today except the last 30 minutes. I didn't want to START anything I couldn't finish so I've been wandering around online. I bought the MP3 soundtracks to Aladin, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid as well as the Disney Hits 2 that was 3.99. So now I just need to transfer those to my ipod when I get home.

16 hours til we leave!!!!!!!!! :hourglass

Mine says the same thing. It's just done to ensure that you will have a seat on the DME on anytime that day. You get your final DME times on the day before checkout in the info they leave on your door. Be warned...that is a very sad envelope to see when you come back from the parks :sad1:

Thanks for that. We called our agent all in a panic so she will get our freaked out message lol. That will be a VERY sad envelope.

Yes, we are a little worried about what our travel agent has booked but so far everything looks good on our reservation I think. We will probably call early next week just to confirm everything.

EMH at the magic kingdom till 2am!! I am so happy right now!

lol! I'm doing that on Sep 2. I don't know how we will last. We did the 2am thing 2 yrs ago an while Dh and I were tired, the kids were still going strong. We had a great time with Chip and Dale at 1:30am.

I'm debating wether to do 1st or 2nd MSEP. I would prefer the 2nd one but I need to get into position for Memories in the hub. Hmmm...have to think about this one.

We were just heading to MK, when my mom checked Facebook and saw a page called Doctor Disney posted that there are troopers with guns at MK and the monorail is shut down because they have to inspect in. I guess there are also helicopters overhead. Um, what is going on?!?!

Edit: is anyone there right now?

Another friend just posted she is inline for Dumbo and hasn't said about anything going on.

I also checked the Orlando TV news, nothing there either.

Ok thank you! I heard the chopper is gone. So I think we will go over there.

what airline are you taking? Do you have to pay bag fees? Because you could just order all that stuff from the Keurig lady and save yourself a suitcase and 2x$25 baggage fees. Might as well order the water and juice from her, too.

I works for United Airlines, so we have 10 bags 70lbs bag each for free. :) That is why it is attempting to just pack it. My DH thinks we should check the groceries in a cooler. :)

Cool! we'll look for you! And my DH works at the airport, too. Another thing we have in common! He's a carpenter for MAC and mostly works at the Humphrey terminal. What a small world! He doesn't get any flight benefits by working for MAC, but he's thinking of de-icing for SunCountry part time this winter so we can get flight benefits from them. He'd have to work about 8 hours per week during the winter, but we'd get the benes all year. Not too bad!

Where is everyone tonight?:confused3

I think so many people have left or are about to leave that this thread is finally slowing down a little!

I still have so much left to do. I told dh today that we need to do an big house cleaning and I need everyone to pitch in. So.. he wandered out and cleaned the garage:rotfl2:
Nice thought but not exactly what I was concerned with:rolleyes1

So this weekend is windows, dusting, vents, overall room tidy for every room, floors, fridge, appliances, laundry, bathrooms, yard work and packing.

I'll need to do floors again just before we leave on Thursday. I have very dark hardwood in 70 percent of the house that shows EVERYTHING. It's beautiful when it's clean but it gets dirty so easy. Sigh.

I picked up bug spray today. I have never needed it at Disney before but apparently the Fort does get mosquitos, especially if it's been wet in the recent days.
I need to go to the pharmacy and pick up my happy pills for the plane and then I have everything we need.

My sister has offered to get a few groceries for me to have waiting for us when we get back as the stores will be closed on Labor Day.

Now I'm just listing things at all of you because I'm anxious and bored:rotfl:

You sound exactly like me!! I have a whole list...dusting, change sheets, clean bathrooms, etc, etc... We leave on Tues and I am starting to panic about the house not being clean before I leave! I am sure it will all get done in time though...

I am totally anxious, yet excited about being in DISNEY!!!! Seems unreal as we have postponed and changed details of this trip several times. Can't believe we will be there next week. Then I have to go to work!!! Whhhhhaaaaaa. (Okay, I know I shouldn't whine about that! lol I'm a teacher and have been off since June 14th!)

Hi pigletto we are still here :wave2:...we leave in 11 days :goodvibes, I have just been really busy today that I wasn't able to sit at the computer and read the DIS . I had to work this morning, then I had to go grocery shopping for the 11 days that we will still will be here. Oh and get this, my wonderful DH and friends of ours decided that this Saturday (as in TOMORROW) would be a good idea to get together since we hadn't seen this couple and their kids (whose ages are the same as our kid's ages and all the kids have known each other, and have been friends, since they were babies) in about 6 months. Even though I work during the day tomorrow, they are all coming over for a BBQ and to watch a pre-season football game. The only good thing about all of this is that this has forced me to start on my cleaning (I have been doing things here and there but not much), so when it is time for us to leave, all I have to do is tidy up a bit.
