****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

Headed to bed to attempt to sleep for 8 hrs then get the car packed. I just need to remember phone charger and tolietries that we are using in the morning and we are good to go! Its supposed to get down to the 40s tonight...my body is in for a drastic weather change...

Charging down my computer now but I have the DIS app on my phone so I will have 23+ driving hours to check in! :rotfl2:

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!!

I am seriously excited for you!!! Hope you have a wonderful time! And hope you get some sleep ;) I know I will be so excited about our drive the night before, I prob won't sleep!

For some reason, chargers are the hardest thing for me to remember to grab! I better make a note to pack them too....

The weather report looks good for FL next week....good as in, it will *only* be a high of 89-90, but that is a temp that I can tolerate for Disney. Of course, I am coming from 88-90 degree weather in NJ (I can't imagine 40's right now!), so hopefully you will adjust to it and have a great time! :)

Please update when you can, looking forward to hearing about your trip!

Where is everyone tonight?:confused3

I think so many people have left or are about to leave that this thread is finally slowing down a little!

I still have so much left to do. I told dh today that we need to do an big house cleaning and I need everyone to pitch in. So.. he wandered out and cleaned the garage:rotfl2:
Nice thought but not exactly what I was concerned with:rolleyes1

So this weekend is windows, dusting, vents, overall room tidy for every room, floors, fridge, appliances, laundry, bathrooms, yard work and packing.

I'll need to do floors again just before we leave on Thursday. I have very dark hardwood in 70 percent of the house that shows EVERYTHING. It's beautiful when it's clean but it gets dirty so easy. Sigh.

I picked up bug spray today. I have never needed it at Disney before but apparently the Fort does get mosquitos, especially if it's been wet in the recent days.
I need to go to the pharmacy and pick up my happy pills for the plane and then I have everything we need.

My sister has offered to get a few groceries for me to have waiting for us when we get back as the stores will be closed on Labor Day.

Now I'm just listing things at all of you because I'm anxious and bored:rotfl:

I debated dark laminate when I redid my basement but finally acknowledged that there was no way I could keep it clean.

I'm still feeling panicky... 5 more days! But everyone here is helping to calm me down. I really appreciate seeing everyone 's lists.. Helps me feel I am not missing stuff.

Good to hear the weather is good. I've been forcing myself not to open the weather app too often. Although I saw a low of 70s the other night and will be adding lightweight hoodies to our suitcase. I think there ia actually a chance I can manage with 1 carry on and 1 very large suitcase. We'll see though. Once I throw shoes in.... I might start thinking differently. I can bring 2 bags free so no big deal packing a 2nd suitcase as well as adding extra carryons.

Cool! we'll look for you! And my DH works at the airport, too. Another thing we have in common! He's a carpenter for MAC and mostly works at the Humphrey terminal. What a small world! He doesn't get any flight benefits by working for MAC, but he's thinking of de-icing for SunCountry part time this winter so we can get flight benefits from them. He'd have to work about 8 hours per week during the winter, but we'd get the benes all year. Not too bad!

Wahh it is a small world. DH works for United airlines. :) I just recently quit after 7 yrs in due to day care problem. My shift start at 4 Am - good luck finding day care at that time. yeah, if your DH can do that for SunCountry, that would be so great. Trust me, once you hooked with the travel benefits, you stuck. :goodvibes You can also get 40% interline rate for hotels at Disney too. hahha, fly free, cheap hotel = annual pass.:yay:
Then we can plan trips after trips to Disney! hehehe! :cheer2:

Have a safe trip to your Disney home. :)
Talk about the weather changed, I dont like the drastic change so much either. I am afraid I will miss MN fall once I am in Disney.

TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP
Pretty much this disney commercial sums up how I feel
http://youtu.be/b95oyhSd5ls

Me too kinda, just checking & re-checking to make sure i have everything. My list for tomorrow morning of things to do before we are off too the city just got longer & longer :(

I scored la nouba tickets in section 205 for 123$ total!!! Normally 185$ so that is sweet.

We are on our honeymoon after all (even with a teenager) so it will be a date night.

I know i really don't need to worry about my son, he is just shy of 14, but yet as a mom i can't help but be afraid to leave him alone. I just started leaving him on his own at home this year for short periods. I have only left him at night once, but he had my husbands nephew here (they don't really consider themselves cousins but they are the same age).

He is a good kid, not into a lot of the stuff most teenagers around here are into & i know he will just be interested in the pool (maybe the movie since the show is at 9) & the arcade but i still worry. Am i crazy??? He is a bit afraid of the dark at home but i have a feeling he won't be there, plus i am sure the grounds of csr are well lit.

Is it ok to leave a teenager by themselves without feeling guilty? I asked if he wanted to come & he said no mom you & Geno should have a date.

I think he'll be okay. It is disney after all and people talk about leaving their younger kids at the exits of rides. Maybe leave a phone with him so that he can text if he needs you guys?

We wont have our phones, walky talkies for when we are together in parks jic but that is it. would be expensive to have them there.

I don't think he would need us, he knows where we are if an emergency arose, he would let staff know. Tbh he is looking forward to feeling a bit like a grown up & not having to be watched every minute.

I just have that bit of a nag in the back of head saying "bad parent" for going out (fwiw my son doesn't live with me but i have only gone out 2 or 3 times while he is with me in my life, i always always stay home when he is with us so that prob has something to do with it). he goes to the stores when he wants something or goes to pick up his friends & stuff so it is never that he can't go alone, i just chose to spend my time with him.

Oh & another major question, is there a place to get usa quarters at the airport for tollbooths? I am unable to get them in my town, the banks don't carry coin.

This time next week I will be sleeping... but at wdw!!

Can someone direct me to a list of things I should be doing? Does anyone know of a board that has a check list I could download? I know that I am forgetting a million things. :confused3

We will be there on the 2nd also!! So excited :) I will be watching for those LGMH

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I just noticed that the hours changed for the 2nd. EMH till 2am???? YAY! My "kids" are older (23 and 17) so I am sure they will be dragging me around until two in the morning...lol :rotfl2:

Today is online check-in day. I'm still debating if I am going to do it or not. I wish all of my "problems" were this simple. :rolleyes1

10 more days!!!!

10 more days!!!!

We tried this last night but only made it til 1. The park was much more crowded than I had hoped for (wait times of 30 plus for the big rides), I had been up since 6, we had already been to 2 parks already, so none of us was up for the task. We made it til 3am 2 years ago.
Have fun!

I always use the packing list at Mousesavers. It has more things than I would ever bring but it covers pretty much everything. Here's a link to the page with tips, and the download for the list is on this page.:)

The 2 best things I brought with me this trip were the GOld Bond Friction Defense stick (looks just like deoderant). DH and I have had no problem at all with chafing! Yahoo! I also can't say enough about the walking sneakers I bought! They are Easy Spirit Reinvent. Here is a link: http://shopping.yahoo.com/news/test-of-best-sneakers-for-walking.html
THey are better than Crocs, hands down! Mine are gray and navy....my feet would be miserable otherwise!

Side note...we could have booked both Le Cellier and CHef Mickey for dinner last night! I nearly fainted!

Making it until 1am is nothing to sneeze about, especially since you hade been up since 6am and done 2 parks!!!

We are hoping for much smaller crowds by the time we leave. Historically the crowds drop dramatically during the last week of August. Touring plans has our week rated at 1 out of 10 for crowds on quite a few of our days. Last year we wandered around HS on an EMH night and it was actually weird because no one else was on the streets of New York. I have a video of it somewhere, I have to look for it. We went on Star Tours 3 times in a row because it was a walk on. I hope it's the same way this year!

We have 7 more sleeps until we fly to WDW and check in at Pop!!!!!!!!!! I just am a little bit overwhelmed at this point.... But I have my trusty lists to make sure we don't forget anything.

This time next week we'll be at the Animal Kingdom at Tusker House! :cool1:

Really, as long as you don't forget your tickets, ID's, and money everything else is incidental. There is a complete packing list someone made over on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board here on the Dis. It's beyond comprehensive, but if you are looking for a list it's a good one.

In order to keep from forgetting anything, every time I pick up something whether it be the misting fans, the sun screen, the frogg toggs, whatever, I just throw it straight in the suitcase. The inside of the suitcase is a massive disaster at the moment because of it, but I sleep better knowing everything that I need is already in one place.
