****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

Haha - that's exactly how I feel.

Woohoo - I'll keep a weather eye out for ALL LGMHs!!

Now Team August,

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

I LEAVE IN 5 DAYS AND AM STARTING TO PANIC! What else do I have to do??

Last night my DH asked me if we have anything else to do...and I couldn't think of much at all! Give me a list, give me something. I'm freaking out.

This is what we have done so far:
- Mostly packed. Tops all picked out and set aside. I will have to toss in all the bottoms on Monday (leave Wed) as we are still wearing everything. I think I'll start packing the suitcase tonight. Toiletries also all packed. Just need my makeup which will be on the last day.

- Scoured through the Ultimate Packing List, packing incidentals like glow bracelets (30 of them!!), ponchos, sharpies for autographs, etc.

- Packed our park bags. OK - that is crazy anal - but since I was itching to do something... Our park bags are crazy empty this time around. I think we can even go bagless some days :)

- DH hunted down all the Disney gift cards and also packed a free $10 Starbucks gift card we just received to use at the airport before we leave. He also packed all the cash we will need (not much).

- Dealt with "leaving house issues" including housesitters and MIL-care. (That was interesting. My MIL was freaking out a bit last night).

- Followed up on the photopass share I'm organizing. I think all details there are set.

- Emailed TA to ask her to send in my room requests

- Downloaded ebooks on my Playbook for spare time reading

- DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO??!!! PLEASE GIVE ME A LIST!!!!

I feel like I'm forgetting a million things. All I know I have to do still is finalize my ADR plans and cancel a couple of ADRs. Oh I also plan to send my TA a list of all the ADRs I have to confirm I haven't forgotten any.

First.. breathe:wave2:
I get exactly the same way. If you haven't already start making lists. Just before the trip I would say at least 10 things a day pop into my head. If I don't write them down I just get more and more anxious.

Did you write instructions and phone number info out for the cat sitter/MIL care? If not you can do that now.

Everything taken care of at the bank? Any bills that will need to be covered while you are gone?

I have an order of priority for some trip details. The first things on that list are, all confirmations and paperwork in a folder, I.D. packed, make sure I have tickets packed, important medications (this would be a biggie for us because getting prescriptions filled from Florida from our doctor in Canada would be a giant pain in the butt), insurance info.. etc.

Everything after those hard to replace items is secondary. Thats all I can think of right now. Good Luck!!:)

THIS is what I keep forgetting to do! I need to add it to my list! I just need to call the bank and my Disney Visa (i plan on using just that credit card while I'm there).

Something else I need to do is clear off my SD cards I have for my camera so I have 2 empty cards to fill with DISNEY pictures!!!

I cleaned pennies last night with ketchup. It worked pretty well. I found all the quarters I could find in my house (and I have a roll of them for tolls already in my car) to use for the penny machines. I just figure those are cheap souviners. There is a Dumbo one but its a quarter one and its located in the Contemporary so I don't know if we'll have the time to find it next Friday but if we do I wanted to check out all the resorts I could anyway. :)

Meanwhile I too am having issues sleeping. I go to bed at my normal time and try to force myself to sleep but it doesn't work out very well. My mind keeps racing. Then I wake up before my alarm goes off in the morning and I'm too excited to fall back to sleep because I'm one day closer to WDW!!! But its starting to catch up with me. I am sooo tired today and I have a headache. I'm trying to drown it in Diet Coke but I know its just from lack of sleep. I hope I can sleep tonight! This time tomorrow we will be on the road!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Wow! I was looking at price line but was only able to see rules saying 2 people per room gaurentee, am I missing somthing? Can you book for a larger family gaurenteed? What type of hotel were you able to get for that price?

Ginny_Lynn: I always bid on priceline (most of the time) before I book somewhere else. Yes, that is true. You can call the hotel after you won and confirm for 2 queen beds or whatever you prefer. Most will be for 4 occupants. IF they cant accommodate you, you can ask if you can cancel since you have small kids or whatever the reason, if they will let you cancel. Priceline will cancel your trip without charge. I did it many time. :)
By the way, they have a $10 off a night cash reward to bid for hotel right now. That is how I got my hotel room. *It works like this, I bid $15 a night+$10 cash reward a night= my bids for $25 a night. (but I just paid for $15 of course)
If you dont have the link, google priceline cash reward. It expires today at midnight. Message me if you cant find it.

Oh and I forgot, I got the Orland Grand hotel and I called them, we are getting the KIDS suite with kids bunk bed. Our family travel a lot and our hotel expectation is low. :) But you can easily get 3 stars+ for $30 or so.

Got DH to clear out the SD card a couple of nights ago - man we had a lot of pics on there!

The ketchup trick for pennies work great :) We enjoyed collecting pennies on our first trip. I stopped doing it though as I found it added up quickly. I think we spent about $20 on pennies. Very fun souvie though. We're focusing on pins and I created a special pin fanny pack for my DD (used a fabric name badge holder I had) as the lanyard felt heavy. She can attach it to her purse.

CHECK IN ONLINE ! :cool1::cool1::cool1: available for us today.
But I made a rule to myself: I can not check in online until

- Finish 90% of packing
- Take care of everything else I need for the trip
- Give a house a good clean

Now that is something can motivated me to get up and put on my OCD mode. :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

No Online Check-in for us for the reason I like to be there to see it happen. Part of my favourite thing about traveling is checking in and watching all the action. Also we need to split payment 4 ways for the room and put 4 different credit cards on file. I figure why slow down a line some people complain is already too long.

We did for the 1st leg of our trip at Pop, but not for POR. I want to make sure that we're not put out in Alligator Bayou in the stix!:lmao: Plus we have 3 rooms and we want to be close to eachother. At Pop, I did online ck in, because we're only there for 2 days anyway. I just cant wait to finally BE there, I'll stay in a tent in the TTC parking lot if they'd let me!!:rotfl:

Excellent idea on the Pin fanny pack. Ds is getting quite a collection and even though he only brings what he wants to trade in the parks for the day on his lanyard it does start to bug him after awhile. Also when it's hot it rubs on his neck and is weighed down and makes him uncomfortable. This time I think we'll bring enough for the trades he's looking for but keep it to a minimum and throw it in the park bag if needed.
It's a shame because he likes to carry around and show what he's collected so far but it's just not worth it in the heat. We'll save the Pin displaying for our February trip:)

I am doing regular check in too. We are not in a hurry and I don't mind the wait. I am also praying for some pixie dust!!! pixiedust:

I did a quick look online for our date and all handicap standard rooms are filled but there are several options still avaliable for Aruska view rooms and suites. So I'm hoping they will want to 'open up' some standard handicap rooms. :rotfl2: I will be happy to be in WDW either way though!

5 hours of work left!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

8 days left...I'm hoping to be able to do this with just 2 carry-ons so we dont have to trek down to baggage claim before getting on DME so yesterday I shipped off a box of goodies to POP.
  • Decided to send Ian's organic/gluten free cereals, pop tarts, fruit snacks and crackers so at least I know for sure breakfast and snacks will be safe.
  • All toiletries-I hate using trial size bottle of shampoo/conditioner so I picked up some cheap full-sized Suave, trial sizes of deodorants, body wash, Lysol wipes, hairspray, toothpaste, hand sanitizer and Goldbond powder since that all gets thrown out when we leave anway.
  • Swimming items
  • reusuable water bottles, plastic bowls
  • his pin lanyard and some pin sets I had bought him (hope he doesnt notice that missing this week)
  • video recorder
  • rain ponchos

So now I'm just trying to hold off packing until next Thursday!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

I did the same thing! DDs swim floatie, misting fans, shampoos, soap, ponchos, and a bunch os other stuff are headed to the CSR! I think I'll still have one checked bag, but It saved us from having 2. Gave me the itch to pack big time, though. I'm trying to hold off and pack next Friday cuz I took the day off work to do laundry and pack with no one around (DD will still go to daycare that day and DS sleeps till noon and is pretty good about staying out of my way when I'm on cleaning/packing mode)

Some things I've done or plan to this weekend:
Clear SD card in both cameras (DSLR and P&S)

Charge camera batteries and portable DVD player battery

Scrub stroller (it's nasty after a soggy trip to the county fair a couple weeks ago)

Print schedules

Make sure all trip docs are in my folder

Updated music and charged kids' iPods

Make sure DS has his kindle fire loaded with games, books and charged

Stop mail

That's it. Getting down to the nitty gritty now :). Id clean the house this weekend, but we're dog sitting a slobbery dog and with 2 kids and 3 dogs, there's just no sense in doing a deep clean right now.

Just had a minor panic attack. Looked at our reservations for Disney today online as we are considering doing the online check in (what would you advise?) and it said our flight leaving going home was scheduled for 12 AM  Why would I book a flight leaving at 12am? So freaked out briefly then looked on our email confirmation - turns out it is indeed for 12 but PM and out travel agent just put in the wrong time. Phew! Anyone know if we can change that directly through Disney or do we need our agent to do that? She is away so may not get done.

We just got back from AKL in May. We had a pool view room. I didn't miss not waking up to the animals in the least. You could view them from places all over the resort and outside. It was a BEAUTIFUL resort and we all loved everything about it. You are going to have a wonderful time!!!!:yay:

LOL Yeah it definitely helped my packing urges. I have to do covert packing though because I've still managed to keep it a secret that we're going! So Thursday laundry gets done, that afernoon I'm going to try to pack while he's off with his friends. Friday got to sneak the bags out the house to my sister's so their ready for Saturday when she takes us to the airport. *Whew* I'm getting tired thinking of it LOL

Mine says the same thing. It's just done to ensure that you will have a seat on the DME on anytime that day. You get your final DME times on the day before checkout in the info they leave on your door. Be warned...that is a very sad envelope to see when you come back from the parks :sad1:

Thanks! I figure we won't be in the room much anyway. Just to sleep and shower. I am sure we will enjoy the resort regardless of whether or not we have a view. We both love animals. I am going to miss my animals at home soooo much! My pets and my sleep number bed...I wish I could take them with me. :rotfl2:

3 hrs and 45 minutes of work left to go!!!!!!!!!! :hyper:
