**Official August 2011** Post your dates and resort!

We were there at the end of August last year and the crowds were quite low. We got a lot of baby swap passes that we never used because so many rides were walk-ons! It was free dining last year, too.

Amanda

I remember going in early August two years ago and worried about crowds. But then I was kind of relieved because I knew lots of people were going in late August to take advantage of free dining. Although my problem still lies in the fact a lot of schools will still be on summer vacation (hence why we're able to go). Let's just hope crowds are manageable for us! ;)

Happy Birthday to me!:banana::banana: At the big Family dinner last night I brought up adding an extra day to our trip and everyone jumped right on board! :cloud9: :cheer2::cool1: Our new dates are August 22nd-August 30th at POP!

I hope so too! I found our pre-trip report. Sorry your daughter is sick right now. My son is battling a bad cold...might have walking pnemonia again along with an ear infection. Headed to the doctors tomorrow am since they couldn't fit us in today.

My husband and I are HOPEFULLY going Sunday Aug 28 - Saturday Sept 3!!! (We have some family medical issues that might make us have to cancel, but for now... this is the plan!!) I can't wait to go!!!! We will be staying at the Pop again! We just love this resort! It's simple and cheap... yet so much fun!! It's perfect for us! I had thought about booking at Shades of Green because they are having a fall discount sale... but I love being on the dining plan, and that's not offered if we stay at SOG. There's nothing better than knowing that everything is paid for (except alcohol and tips) when we get there! LOVE IT!

Btw... my husband doesn't know that I'm booking this!! I'm hoping to surprise him!! hee hee!!!

Hi all,

I just found out that Southwest lets you book a flight and change flights without an additional fee. You either pay the difference the new flight is more expensive or get a credit you have to use within a year if the new flight is cheaper.

Apparently there's some big advertising campaign about this because all my coworkers looked at me strangely when I told them this is news to me. ;-)

I can pull the trigger and book the flights! Woo Hoo!

About August/free dining crowd levels: I was at WDW w/free dining back in Aug 2008. While it was more crowded on average than I had experienced in March/April trips it wasn't crazy busy. The exception was the Magic Kingdom the Sunday night before Labor Day. It was an Extra Magic Hour evening and I had never seen it that busy. The next day on Labor Day Monday the park was practically empty. Every attraction was a walk on in the morning.

Hope the above was helpful.

I think crowds will be manageable as long as you plan ahead (you know, go early, take a break, go back). And thanks, she is much better! Of course now she bit her lip since she's not totally use to her new teeth! I'm so sorry to hear about your son!! I hope he is feeling better and makes a quick recovery!! :goodvibes:
