ok, thank you. I'm not sure if we're going to order it this trip.... we did one in March for that price (but it was a DVC offer), and since we're going at Thanksgiving with my sister's family, we'll probably want one then. 3 in one year makes $300!! It adds up.

Our first time driving down was with an almost 5 year old. Are you driving in a minivan?

This may sound silly, but the very bestest things we bought were one, the over head clam shell thing for our luggage and two, a portable potty. We got it at Bass Pro Shop for less than a $100 in 2006. Put up two sticky hooks on the back window, made a piece of cloth into a curtain with circle{shower} clips on it for privacy and removability. I swear our youngest spent most of the trip going potty. Not having to look for a stopping place when "I have to go potty" was announced, priceless. We used it again in 2008 and plan on taking it with us this time. I though my DH was mad/crazy for wanting it. We took an hour out of trip to go get it the first time. But I thanked him over and over and over again for having that in our vehicle.

PS-it has also been great for when the power goes out. Have a cistern, no power, no water.

We're driving in a SUV ... so not quite mini-van size, but pretty roomy.

Not silly at all! That's actually a pretty useful suggestion. Although, I tend to make frequent bathroom stops myself, so stopping every couple hours or so won't be too bad. As long as DS doesn't drink a ton, he should be good for long distances. My DS is Alex too.

Our Alex was really good at holding his water, so to speak. However, when he had to go solid, he never gave us much notice. It was like he didn't know until it was almost too late. He was much better the second trip.

I just need to post somewhere to celebrate. Today is my 45 day mark! I made the final payment yesterday! I'm so excited! And somehow or another, I've still managed to keep it a secret from DD. She's been talking almost everyday for a couple weeks about wanting to go. I had been saying I don't have the money yet. She's been saving up Disney Dollars through good behavior and doing extra chores. She currently has $68 saved up. I told her when she reaches $100, we can go. Now I just have to find enough chores that she can do to earn that money before 8/13! Hmmm.... I think my house might be really clean for the next 6 weeks.

We're at 41 days but we leave in 38 days (stop at FIT first).

I soooo want to start packing, but need to hold off. I'm afraid I'm going to give this away. I've arranged for my DD to go stay with grandma and grandpa for the 4 days before we leave so I can pack without her catching on. Well that and it saves me from having to pay for childcare for that week and allows me the freedom to stay late at work if I have some things to finish up before the trip.

my kids know we are going... it's their first trip, so they really don't get it yet! I can't wait until they realize what Disney is all about. I have been counting down since January... like 215 days or something like that. I've bought little things here and there ever since and thrown it in a bag... but now it's kind of over flowing, so it's time to get out a suitcase. My husband is starting to get excited and I know the people I work with want it to get her so they don't have to hear about it... little do they know I won't be able to shut up about it after I get back either!!!

53 days for us!! We are celebrating the adoption of our niece, and my son plans to propose to a wonderful girl while we are there. I just can't wait!

I got my luggage tags in the mail the other day. It is starting to get real. I need to round up some suitcases. I have small med and large but I want to take 3 large for our faimly. lol. I could start packing a few things I have bought for the trip. Fun fun.

DBF has never been so he is very excited but he still doesn't "get" it completely. He loved Canobie Lake Park in NH when we went though so I know he should love Disney!!

Funny you mentioned Canobie Lake...we were just up there and my DHs Aunt said she prefers Canobie to Disney anyday! My boys and I looked at her like she was from Mars!!! I'm sure your DBF will love disney!! Have a great time!!!

I think you might want to check that she really isn't from Mars. I live 15 minutes from Canobie Lake and I don't think I would go there if you pay me. Disney is like a trillion times better. I'm bringing my DS1 to Disney before Canobie because I don't want to taint him.

Hey don't shoot down Canobie so fast I totally love it. Not as must as Disney, but that's sort of like comparing silver and diamonds, they are both jewlery but the comparisons end there. Can anyone tell me cause I'm sure most of you know, what am I to expect in the mail from WDW cause I'm almost to the 45 day mark myself.
