Thank you so very much for taking that task on!!! If I had a minute of time, I would have done it. I love to see my name on a list of names going to my favorite vacation place on earth. I appreciate you taking time to add all of us to the list. It is one of my ways of knowing it is "real". I know that probably sounds corny, but that's who I am! To see it in writing, it makes it real. The next step is our final payment in 1 week then getting all the paperwork. All steps to making it a reality!

Thanks for updating the list - so happy to see my name on there!!! There are a lot of people going, but not too many at All Star Movies when I'm there, will be so nice having that place all to ourselves...

We can't get too much Disney either! We upgraded our military tickets to PAP's, so we figured we better take advantage of it.

You're all very welcome! But you'd better bet I did it mostly for myself! I love seeing my name on there and who I might run into while I'm there!

I made this "crowd chart" which shows the cost, average temperature and chance of precipitation, estimated crowd level, recommended and not recommended theme parks to visit, Extra Magic Hours times and locations, and Fantasmic show times. You can click the thumbnail below to enlarge it.

as well as a day-by-day explanation of why the parks will be the least crowded or why they're recommended, which Extra Magic Hours may be worth visiting, and other pertinent information. I would paste it all here but it is about 35 pages long.

It's currently a "rough draft" but it might give you some perspective on where it would make the most sense to spend your time. I'm still tweaking the format and how to present the information. It's just all sort of "there" at the moment.

I'm more of a lurker on here, but I just discovered this thread. My DH (Bork on the DIS boards) and I will be taking DS5 to celebrate his 6th birthday. We're also celebrating our 10 year anniversary (his b-day is 8/5 and our anniversary is 9/30).

We're staying at All-Star Sports from August 20-26. Well, actually we're leaving Wisconsin on the 18th and driving to WDW. First time driving there; should be ... interesting with a very active almost 6 year old!

Tell me you're an engineer!! If my DH were into the DIS boards... this is exactly what he'd do. He LOVES charts and graphs and calculating linear progressions of whatever!! I can't wait to show this to him.

Our first time driving down was with an almost 5 year old. Are you driving in a minivan?

This may sound silly, but the very bestest things we bought were one, the over head clam shell thing for our luggage and two, a portable potty. We got it at Bass Pro Shop for less than a $100 in 2006. Put up two sticky hooks on the back window, made a piece of cloth into a curtain with circle{shower} clips on it for privacy and removability. I swear our youngest spent most of the trip going potty. Not having to look for a stopping place when "I have to go potty" was announced, priceless. We used it again in 2008 and plan on taking it with us this time. I though my DH was mad/crazy for wanting it. We took an hour out of trip to go get it the first time. But I thanked him over and over and over again for having that in our vehicle.

PS-it has also been great for when the power goes out. Have a cistern, no power, no water.

Thanks so much for that. I have been so wondering what the crowd levels would be the week I am there. I was really hoping for 6 and 7's, but I guess I'll just have to deal with 8's.
The waiting is KILLING me. I just want to be there!!!

OMG... my late mother(GRHS ) had the same thing. She bought a porta potty for her mini-van and made a curtain too. She kept the potty in the van all the time and had it covered (disguised) with a big box wrapped as a present with a big bow on the top! Once, my very young daughter at the time said "Gramma, when can I open my present?". It had a big tag on it marked for her! Anytime anyone wanted to use it, she would just lift the gift box off and put up the curtain. I thought she was original.

Yes, a long time before. Mom passed away in '99 so, I'm going to say she did this in the late 80's early 90's. My "little girl" to whom the "gift" was addressed is turning 22 this summer. We referred to the van as the Potty Mobile!
