Last year I looked into the general public code too and the AAA discount I already had booked was a better deal, so I'm not sure that it was 30% (at values...maybe different at other resorts??)

I want to say that it was 20% because the price I got was almost the same as AAA, except that they only had preferred rooms available at the general public rate and I already a standard room booked with AAA, making the price slightly less. I kept the AAA rate. If I remember correctly, the moderate resorts were priced at around $109 or so per night....can't remember if that wsa before or after taxes though.

I'm keeping an eye out for a general public discount too for the first half of our trip which doesn't qualify for free dining. We are staying at POR and currently have a AAA discount.

You may have had a different code. I had 30% and stayed at the Contemporary Resort. It was hard to remember at first but the more I think about it, I wanted to stay at the Beach Club cuz off the great rates but it was already booked.

yeah, maybe. I can't really remember all the details, except that my AAA rate at Pop was better than the rate that was released to the public. It could have been a better deal at other resorts. I do remember that the mods were a pretty good rate and def better than the AAA rate....I kept playing with the idea of upgrading to a mod but ended up keeping the value instead.

Hey fellow August vactioners! Just wanted to let everyone know that they should book SOON if they plan on visiting the world in August. I just got off the phone with Disney changing my ressie I had for CSR to the BWI. I originally wanted BC/YC or the Poly but both of those were booked (they had 1 bedroom suites available for BC/YC). I used my 20% off code that I got via email. The rate I got was better than my AAA discount for BWI so I took it. I am going mid-Aug before free dining and it seems as if the world will be very busy then...

You can still benefit from the code..they will refund you back the savings..just check with DU because they might have different guidelines.

My trip is August 2-8 and rather than wait, I just switched from OKW to CB and am paying $1500 less. Guess I just created my own discount and the CB is an awesome place; stayed there in March. I am very excited just the same and we all can't wait for August 2!

I'm still holding out hope -- last year the AP discount came out late May for August/September...plus the oustanding code now doesn't expire until May 21st, but even so, you can get a discount at CBR and save even more money!

That stinks.

It seems some people may be holding out for a better % - but if you're able to, might as well book AAA and then wait to see if something better comes out. Even AAA discounts are limited.
